Chaotic Sword God

Immediately, the Azure Light Mountain rumbled endlessly. All of the Immortal Exalts struck out. Streaks of resplendent light shot across the sky, collapsing the space with terrifying presences.

The space around the Azure Light Mountain constantly shattered and healed. Even the ways woven into the region began to ripple.

With over thirty Immortal Exalts from the Jade’s End Heaven gathered here, their intense clash with the shockwave from the Divine Formation of the Heavens was basically like the end of the world.

Figures constantly gathered further away. They were Immortal Emperors from various regions of the Jade’s End Heaven. At this moment, they all stared at the terrifying sight near the Azure Light Mountain in shock. Many of them paled.

As Immortal Emperors, they were already experts who could rule over a region on the Jade’s End Heaven, but they were unable to interfere with the catastrophe up ahead.

“That’s the Master of Profound Secrets’ territory. What is happening? Why did this occur…”

“I heard that the Master of Profound Secrets is in the process of refining an impressive cauldron of ancient pills. Surely this isn’t caused by failure in the refinement process…”

“Even if he failed in refining the pills, it shouldn’t have caused such a terrifying disaster. How can this devastating situation be caused by mere pills?”

......

…

The Immortal Emperors that had gathered nearby discussed intensely among themselves. All of their hearts wavered, struggling to remain calm.

Finally, under the combined efforts of all these Immortal Exalts, the shockwave created by the Divine Formation of the Heavens was completely mitigated, preventing the devastating storm from expanding and causing even more destruction.

The Azure Mountain City that stood over a thousand kilometres away from the Azure Light Mountain remained, but all of its walls had already collapsed. The ground was riddled with cracks. It was severely damaged.

A figure hovered in front of the Azure Mountain City, glowing resplendently.

It was the Jade Lotus Master!

The Azure Mountain City was quite fortunate to have the Jade Lotus Master blocking in front of it, allowing the city to be spared from annihilation. Everyone in the city remained safe and sound.

However, before the Jade Lotus Master, the entire Azure Light Mountain had vanished. A huge hole appeared in the ground. It was bottomless, reaching into the depths of the Jade’s End Heaven.

At this moment, a few figures flashed beside the Jade Lotus Master. The Rushing Lightning Immortal Exalt from the Numerous Layer Heaven, the Blood Butcher Immortal Exalt from the Ease Nurturing Heaven, and the Ancient Virtue Immortal Exalt from the Scholarly Attainment Heaven appeared. They were all extremely stern.

“This is definitely not from refining the pills. The Master of Profound Secrets was attacked by someone powerful!” the Ancient Virtue Immortal Exalt said sternly. He stared at the bottomless hole in front of him. He only felt chills well up from the bottom of his heart.

“It’s too terrifying. Just the residual shockwave is so frightening. Even the four of us struggle to fend it off. This is the attack of a Seventh Heavenly Layer Immortal Exalt at the very least, o-or even beyond that…” The Blood Butcher Immortal Exalt’s voice trembled slightly.

The senses of the Jade Lotus Master’s soul spread out like a blanket, finely combing through the ruins before her. However, as she searched, the Jade Lotus Master gradually began to pale. She sobbed as she said, “The Master of Profound Secrets is gone. I can’t find any hint of him…”

When they heard that, the three other experts fell silent. They had originally come here to watch over the Master of Profound Secrets as he refined the ancient pills, but what had happened in the end? The Azure Light Mountain faced a catastrophe, and the Master of Profound Secrets had gone missing. Meanwhile, the four of them who were supposed to be guarding him were unscathed.

Even more ironically, they did not even know what had happened.

The several dozen native Immortal Exalts nearby gathered around the Jade Lotus Master. They were all stern, asking the Jade Lotus Master what had happened here.

Right when the Jade Lotus Master wanted to explain, the Ancient Virtue Immortal Exalt suddenly waved his hand. Soon afterwards, a ruined cauldron flew out from the pit, hovering above everyone’s head as it radiated with residual heat.

When they saw the cauldron, the expressions of the four experts changed drastically, as they knew that the Master of Profound Secrets had been using it to refine the ancient pills. Right now, the high quality god artifact cauldron had already been pierced. It was covered in cracks.

“Oh no, the pills have been destroyed. Quick, contact the Waymight clan!” The Jade Lotus Master immediately paled. In order to refine this cauldron of ancient pills, the Illusionary Ancestor had gone to very great lengths. Now that the pills were destroyed, they struggled to imagine just how furious the Illusionary Ancestor would be.

The Ancient Virtue Immortal Exalt, the Blood Butcher Immortal Exalt, and the Rushing Lightning Immortal Exalt all realised the severity of the matter. Their faces all became extremely ugly.

As people who participated in killing the Starflame Demon Lion, they obviously understood just how important this cauldron of pills was to the Illusionary Ancestor. Now that it was destroyed, how were they supposed to explain themselves to her?

Even though they were not responsible for refining the pills, they had an unshirkable responsibility as the people watching over the entire process.

For a moment, the four experts were rather hesitant. Contact the Illusionary Ancestor? None of them had the courage to do so.

In the end, it was the Jade Lotus Master who stood forward. She set out a series of plentiful conditions and made many promises before finally convincing a native expert of the Jade’s End Heaven.

They were a Third Heavenly Layer Immortal Exalt and also the ancestor of an organisation. However, because their sect had made many enemies on the Jade’s End Heaven, the situation in the recent years had been very pessimistic. With no other choice, they could only accept the Jade Lotus Master’s request, immediately heading off to the Waymight clan.

At the same time, a figure hid away in the tremendous sea of stars beyond the Jade’s End Heaven, hovering there silently and watching everything that unfolded on the Azure Light Mountain from afar.

As the experts of the Jade’s End Heaven gathered, their powerful senses of the soul swept past him time and time again, but no one discovered this figure hidden in the sea of stars.

It was Jian Chen!

After the killing strike with the Divine Formation of the Heavens, he had managed to slip away silently without the four experts sensing him. The many formations that the Master of Profound Secrets had set up in the surroundings had played an important role in this.

These formations had served as a momentary obstruction, allowing him to send the Divine Formation of the Heavens back into the Primeval Divine Hall. Then he hid his presence with the mask from the Illusionary Daemon race and avoided the senses of the four experts.

When the four experts focused on mitigating the shockwave from the Divine Formation of the Heavens, Jian Chen used the opportunity to leave the Azure Light Mountain. Only when he arrived in a stable region of space in the sea of stars could he fully unleash the concealment capabilities of the Divine Armour of Heavenflight.

Gazing at the Azure Light Mountain that had already been razed to the ground as well as the bottomless hole in the centre of the mountain range, Jian Chen could not help but gasp. The power of the Divine Formation of the Heavens had completely surpassed his expectations.

“Immortal Emperor Taihang and the deceased disciples of the Sword Sect of Violet Heavens have been completely avenged. It’s just a pity that all the resources on the Azure Light Mountain have gone to waste,” Jian Chen thought. Gazing at the high quality god artifact cauldron that he had pierced, he felt slightly delighted for some reason.

Back in the sacred land of the Observance Heaven City, Daowei Chengqing had tried to harm him with a strand of Stainless Qi. Now, he had destroyed the pills specially prepared for Daowei Chengqing. It was tit for tat.

The only person that he felt like he owed was the Illusionary Ancestor.

“I can’t stay on the Jade’s End Heaven for long. It’s time to leave.” Jian Chen sighed gently before turning around and vanishing into the depths of the sea of stars, leaving the Jade’s End Heaven.

The culprit behind the catastrophe on the Jade Light Mountain left with ease, but the psychological pressure and shadow he cast on the Immortal Exalt ancestors of the Jade’s End Heaven lingered without dispersing. In particular, when these Immortal Exalts learnt that the pills that the second ancestor of the Waymight clan wanted had been destroyed, all of them felt like they were about to black out. They were overcome with a sense of dread.

Compared to the pills, the Master of Profound Secrets’ death no longer seemed significant. All everyone thought of was how to pacify the Illusionary Ancestor’s wrath and how to get her to spare the Jade’s End Heaven.

The entire mountain range had been locked down. Everything there was preserved in their initial state, waiting for the arrival of the Illusionary Ancestor.

“Who? Who killed the Master of Profound Secrets?”

“An alchemy grandmaster like the Master of Profound Secrets is a treasure to the entire Immortals’ World. Who would ever want to harm someone like that…”

......

…

The next day, some foreign Immortal Exalts arrived on the Jade’s End Heaven. They had all received the Master of Profound Secrets’ grace before or were indebted to him. After hearing about his death, they all spoke up against the injustice that had occurred.

However, they fell quiet very quickly. All of them stared blankly at the apocalyptic sight of the Azure Light Mountain. They could not help but feel chills.

That was because a presence of destruction continued to linger over the ruined mountains.

Just the lingering presence alone struck fear into the hearts of these Immortal Exalts.

Finally, after several days, the sky over the entire Jade’s End Heaven suddenly darkened. All of the cultivators on the Jade’s End Heaven, regardless of cultivation, felt like they could not breathe. A strong sensation of suffocation pressed heavily against their chests.

They could not see. They could not breathe. At that moment, all of the cultivators on the Jade’s End Heaven felt like the end of the world was here.

The stronger they were, the stronger the feeling was. Some Immortal Emperors and even Immortal Exalts could clearly sense that a surging power had locked onto the entire Jade’s End Heaven. This power was so great that it far surpassed the destructive energy that erupted on the Azure Light Mountain. All of the Immortal Exalts on the Jade’s End Heaven felt their hearts tremble.

“I-i-it’s the Illusionary Ancestor!” The Jade Lotus Master’s face paled. Deep fear filled her eyes. She could already sense the familiar presence from the Illusionary Ancestor, but the terrifying presence that she demonstrated right now was countless times stronger than when she slew the Starflame Demon Lion.
