Chaotic Sword God

Jian Chen did not remain there after the Chaotic Star Heavenly Emperor left. After concealing himself with the mask from the Illusionary Daemon race and the Divine Armour of Heavenflight, he silently left there with the Laws of Space.

Afterwards, he continued wandering aimlessly through the sea of stars for a few more hours before entering a dead planet.

The planet was extremely large, not much smaller even when compared to the eighty-one planets of the Saints’ World. It was possible to tell that it was once brimming with life, but it was completely desolate now. There were no signs of life at all.

Jian Chen’s senses of the soul enveloped the entire planet. He discovered a colossal cavern in its centre. After hesitating for a moment, he directly transported himself into the interior of the planet with the Laws of Space before throwing down a set of formation banners. He set up a blocking formation there.

The formation’s quality was not very high. It could only block off the senses of souls from early Immortal Exalts. It was one of his spoils from the Skyscraping World.

He had already raised the attention of the Soaring Immortal Heavenly Emperor. On top of that, aside from the Soaring Immortal Heavenly Emperor, he had no idea if he had caught the attention of experts on par with the heavenly emperors or even beyond the heavenly emperors. As a result, he needed to maintain his highest level of vigilance. He refused to stay in one place for too long.

Even under the dual disguise of the mask and the armour, Jian Chen still did not have the courage to be careless.

After setting up the blocking formation in the centre of the desolate star, he sat down in the dark and quiet space and began consolidating his Way of the Sword.

Sword Sage was a completely new realm to Jian Chen. At the same time, it brought completely new powers. Since he had these powers for the first time, he needed to spend some time familiaring himself with them. Otherwise, it would be very difficult for him to use the strength brought forth by his new cultivation realm to its fullest potential.

“The Profound Sword Qi has strengthened again!” Jian Chen was jubilant. With the Laws of the Swords’ breakthrough, various aspects of his strength grew in terms of quality. The power of the Shadowless Lifetaking Strike and the Hundred Superimposition Sword had grown significantly.

Although he was still an Immortal Emperor right now, his battle prowess had increased significantly. He would be able to kill some early Immortal Exalts even easier than before.

Jian Chen did not stay on this planet for too long. Several months later, he stowed the blocking formation away and erased all of his traces and presences before leaving under the cover of the Divine Armour of Heavenflight and the mask from the Illusionary Daemon race. He searched for a new place for cultivation.

Just like that, Jian Chen changed locations every few months. After five entire years, he finally finished consolidating the realm of Sword Sage. He completely grasped all of the changes as well as the various aspects that had strengthened as a result of this new realm.

Jian Chen had yet to reach the very end of the path for initial achievement of Sword Sage. As he comprehended the Laws of the Sword further in the future, there was still some room for growth.

At this moment, Jian Chen’s mind suddenly shuddered. The power of the Spatial Insect Emperor’s beast soul surged forward from hiding. The profound mysteries of space constantly merged into his soul.

The power of the beast soul was greatly beneficial to Jian Chen. As he absorbed more of the Spatial Insect Emperor’s beast soul, Jian Chen could clearly sense that his comprehension and grasp of the Laws of the Sword was growing at an unbelievable rate.

This was the benefit that came with breaking through with the Laws of the Sword.

A breakthrough in the Ways of the Sword meant growth in the power of the soul.

As long as his soul strengthened, the power of the Spatial Insect Emperor lurking inside Jian Chen would surge forth and strengthen Jian Chen’s Laws of Space.

Jian Chen did not continue to change locations with such frequency. He remained on the current meteor for almost two decades before finally rousing.

During these two short decades, he had grown in a way where others would struggle to achieve even if they had tens of thousand or even hundreds of thousand years. His Laws of Space directly reached the Ninth Heavenly Layer of Immortal Emperor.

The power of the Spatial Insect Emperor’s beast soul did not run out. There was still a tiny amount hiding in Jian Chen’s body. According to Jian Chen’s estimates, the remaining bit of power could elevate his Laws of Space to the First or Second Heavenly Layer of Immortal Exalt.

Apart from the Laws of Space reaching the Ninth Heavenly Layer of Immortal Emperor, even the Profound Sword Qi in his soul had increased to six. Jian Chen’s trump cards had strengthened once again.

“I wonder if I’ll have the fortune to enjoy the Spatial Insect Emperor’s remaining power in the future.” Jian Chen sighed gently inside. To him, Immortal Exalt was a place beyond his reach.

“Master, Thousand Soul is looking for you.” At this moment, the Primeval artifact spirit’s voice rang out in Jian Chen’s head.

Jian Chen immediately entered the Primeval Divine Hall. He met with the Thousand Soul Demon Exalt in an independent space.

At this moment, the Thousand Soul Demon Exalt hovered above several tens of thousand Nine-heavenly Xuan Immortal disciples. There were several dozen Immortal Monarchs and a few Immortal Emperors nearby.

Jian Chen saw undisguised joy and excitement on the faces of these people. Even the Thousand Soul Demon Exalt was no different.

“What’s happened that’s left you all so happy?” Jian Chen glanced past everyone and asked curiously. However, when he noticed the Nine-heavenly Xuan Immortal disciples below, Jian Chen’s eyes immediately shone.

After not using the Divine Formation of the Heavens for many years, he discovered that the number of Nine-heavenly Xuan Immortal disciples here had already reached fifty thousand.

Fifty thousand Nine-heavenly Xuan Immortals had already reached the standard required for the Divine Formation of the Heavens!

“Hehehehe, sect master, you must have noticed it too. Our sect has already assembled fifty thousand Nine-heavenly Xuan Immortal disciples. When I was testing earlier, I discovered that after assembling the fifty thousand disciples, the Divine Formation of the Heavens has changed slightly as well,” the Thousand Soul Demon Exalt said excitedly. He showed even more respect towards Jian Chen than before.

“Stop? What our sect? Thousand Soul Demon Exalt, you’re not a disciple of the Sword Sect of Violet Heavens, much less a member of the upper echelon. You have to keep this clear.” Jian Chen corrected the Thousand Soul Demon Exalt in time.

“Hehe, it’s all the same, it’s all the same.” The Thousand Soul Demon Exalt rubbed his head awkwardly.

“It’s different. You are from the demonic path at the end of the day. There is a difference between demons and immortals. You can’t join the Sword Sect of Violet Heavens.” Jian Chen did not dwell on this topic any further. There was a hint of eagerness in his eyes. “Tell me, how has the Divine Formation of the Heavens changed?”

“Hehe, sect master, please take a look for yourself.” The Thousand Soul Demon Exalt smiled mysteriously before signalling to everyone. Very soon, the fifty thousand Nine-heavenly Xuan Immortals, the several dozen Immortal Monarchs, the few Immortal Emperors, and the Immortal Devouring Orchid assembled the Divine Formation of the Heavens with great familiarity.

Immediately, the surrounding space was swallowed by blinding light. A terrifying pressure filled the space, startling Jian Chen.

Just from the emanating pressure, Jian Chen could tell that the Divine Formation of the Heavens had grown much stronger than before.

Suddenly, a blinding beam of light erupted, slamming into the floor of the Primeval Divine Hall with a deafening rumble. It stirred up a storm of energy.

Jian Chen squinted his eyes in the distance. He stared straight at the Divine Formation of the Heavens. After launching a strike this time, the formation did not disperse from running out of energy. Instead, it maintained a terrifying pressure.

“Don’t tell me the Divine Formation of the Heavens is already capable of launching two strikes?” This thought crossed Jian Chen’s mind.

In the next moment, his thoughts were confirmed. Another devastating beam of light fell down without any reduction in power, slamming into the ground heavily and producing another great rumble.
