Chaotic Sword God

“There’s nothing embarrassing about respecting the Sacred Beast clan, but there’s no need to go as far as to fear them. As long as you don’t cross the Sacred Beast clan’s bottom line, they won’t mobilise their forces en masse. Because the Sacred Beast clan does not have a Grand Exalt right now, they don’t have the courage to act too recklessly in the Immortals’ World.” The Chaotic Star Heavenly Emperor divulged another piece of important information, which reduced some of Jian Chen’s wariness towards the Sacred Beast clan.

He could not help but recall the rumour he had heard many years ago about the battle between the Sword Heart Ancestor of the Immortal Sect of Myriad Swords and Nanming Yuyan of the Sacred Beast clan.

Perhaps it was exactly because he understood where the Sacred Beast clan’s bottom line was that the Sword Heart Ancestor was still bold enough to face Nanming Yuyan in battle despite knowing their strength.

“Oh right, I heard you had two Immortal Exalts that follow you. Can I see them?” the Chaotic Star Heavenly Emperor said calmly.

Jian Chen obviously would not reject the Chaotic Star Heavenly Emperor’s small request. He immediately let out the Thousand Soul Demon Exalt and the Immortal Devouring Orchid.

The Thousand Soul Demon Exalt had already found out who he would be meeting before he came out, so his face was filled with respect. He bowed politely towards the Chaotic Star Heavenly Emperor. “Greetings to senior heavenly emperor from this measly demon!”

On the other side, the Immortal Devouring Orchid also made a gesture of lowering its head, showing great respect.

“A Fourth Heavenly Layer Demon Exalt. An expert like that isn’t that easy to control. How much do you trust this demon?” the Chaotic Star Heavenly Emperor looked at the Thousand Soul Demon Exalt and said calmly. He did not give off any of the might that would match a heavenly emperor.

However, the Thousand Soul Demon Exalt felt his heart tighten as if tremendous danger had enveloped him. He could vaguely sense an invisible power fill his surroundings, filled with lethal killing intent. It was extremely terrifying, where he could be doomed if he made the slightest inappropriate movement.

“My loyalty to the sect master is completely sincere. I bear no other motives. The sect master also possesses my lifebound true soul. As long as my lifebound true soul is in his possession, my fate is completely at his whim. Even if I want to betray the sect master, I can’t,” the Thousand Soul Demon Exalt said with a trembling voice before secretly glancing at Jian Chen beside him. He continued, “Moreover, why would I betray the sect master? In all the years I’ve lived, I’ve never experienced such a fascinating journey as the one I’ve spent by the sect master’s side. I’ve also achieved many feats that I wouldn’t even think of in the past. The sect master’s identity is extremely special. Only by following the sect master will I achieve infinite glory in the future…”

“There are so many benefits for me in following the sect master. Senior heavenly emperor, what reason do I have to betray the sect master?”

The Thousand Soul Demon Exalt did not demonstrate any of his usual pride or dignity before the Chaotic Star Heavenly Emperor. He began to grovel instead.

In all the years Jian Chen had spent with the Thousand Soul Demon Exalt, this was the first time he had seen him behave like this.

After a thought, Jian Chen took out the lifebound true soul that the Thousand Soul Demon Exalt had initially handed over to him from the Primeval Divine Hall. “Senior, “This is the Thousand Soul Demon Exalt’s lifebound true soul. As long as this remains in my possession, I can indeed decide his fate at whim.”

The Chaotic Star Heavenly Emperor looked at the lifebound true soul. Only after studying it for a while did he say, “Nothing seems wrong with the lifebound true soul at first glance, but this demon is relatively special. He’s not a creature that cultivated to his current state. Instead, he’s the result of countless negative emotions condensing together. Special lifeforms like him usually possess some unique abilities, so they can’t be trusted so easily.”

With a pause, the Chaotic Star Heavenly Emperor formed a seal. Tremendous power immediately gathered over from the surrounding region. The power was startling to Jian Chen, while the Thousand Soul Demon Exalt experienced its full might. His body even began to tremble. He was terrified.

In the end, the tremendous power condensed into an ancient glyph in the Chaotic Star Heavenly Emperor’s hand. He directly sent the glyph into the Thousand Soul Demon Exalt’s body.

Immediately, starlight glimmered on the surface of the Thousand Soul Demon Exalt’s body before completely sinking into his body, blood, and even soul like a brand.

The Thousand Soul Demon Exalt’s face changed slightly, but he recovered very quickly. He had already guessed the function of the glyph that the Chaotic Star Heavenly Emperor had embedded into his body. However, these things no longer concerned him as he had already handed over his lifebound true soul.

“I’ll teach you a technique. If this demon ever runs amok, you can directly control his fate through this technique.” As the Chaotic Star Heavenly Emperor said that, he had already pressed his finger against Jian Chen’s forehead gently. Immediately, an ancient secret technique appeared in Jian Chen’s head.

However, Jian Chen was only able to control the Thousand Soul Demon Exalt’s fate through this technique. It was equivalent to a key. He was unable to use this same technique on another person.

The Chaotic Star Heavenly Emperor clearly did not trust the Thousand Soul Demon Exalt to be following Jian Chen around. Even with the lifebound true soul, he had to set up another safeguard.

“Sigh, why bother? I already made up my mind to follow the sect master to the death. I’ve already come to the realisation that the sect master is a pivotal figure in my life…” the Thousand Soul Demon Exalt grumbled inside.

Shortly afterwards, the Chaotic Star Heavenly Emperor looked at the Immortal Devouring Orchid, and he gradually furrowed his brows.

As a Ninth Heavenly Layer Immortal Exalt, there were many things and matters in the world that he could see through with a single glance. He could even see their past and future, gazing into the secrets of the deepest depths.

As a result, when the Chaotic Star Heavenly Emperor observed the Immortal Devouring Orchid seriously, he immediately discovered many strange features.

“This Immortal Devouring Orchid has actually departed from the range of its species as an Immortal Devouring Orchid. It is a lifeform from a level so high that even I struggle to see through it immediately. I struggle to imagine how it managed to evolve to its current state.” The Chaotic Star Heavenly Emperor let out a sigh of amazement. He had already noticed how extraordinary the Immortal Devouring Orchid was.

At this moment, the Immortal Devouring Orchid was very reserved. It was not known whether it was capable of breathing, but at this moment, it seemed like it was holding its breath before the Chaotic Star Heavenly Emperor.

“Senior, I raised this Immortal Devouring Orchid from a seed. It is one of my closest and most reliable friends. I completely trust it. I’m certain it won’t betray me.” Jian Chen explained as if he was afraid that the Chaotic Star Heavenly Emperor would also plant some kind of restraining power in the Immortal Devouring Orchid.

The Chaotic Star Heavenly Emperor stared at the Immortal Devouring Orchid with interest. The depths of his eyes shimmered with a peering light. Only after a while did he say slowly, “A connection akin to a bloodline exists between it and you. You are extremely close. I can tell that it won’t betray you.”

The Chaotic Star Heavenly Emperor waved his hand and sent the Immortal Devouring Orchid and the Thousand Soul Demon Exalt back inside the Primeval Divine Hall. Afterwards, he took out another Space Ring and passed it over to Jian Chen. “Accept this Space Ring. These are some resources that the Heavenly Emperor of Sword Radiance left for you. He also told me to tell you that if you encounter any difficulties with regards to cultivation, you can go directly to the Immortal Sect of Myriad Swords. He will personally answer your questions and guide you on your cultivation of the Way of the Sword.”

“You cultivate the Chaotic Body. Although you’ll struggle to reach Immortal Exalt with your cultivation, your comprehension is unaffected. I’m certain you will make drastic progress on the Way of the Sword with the Heavenly Emperor of Sword Radiance’s personal guidance…”

When he heard that, Jian Che smiled wryly inside. Who said his comprehension was not affected? After learning about the predicament of the Martial Soul lineage, he understood that his comprehension could not reach Immortal Exalt either.

The Chaotic Body limited his cultivation, while the Martial Soul lineage limited his cultivation. Now that he had virtually reached the end of these two paths, Jian Chen himself was slightly lost as well with regards to the path ahead of him.

Afterwards, the Chaotic Star Heavenly Emperor warned Jian Chen about a few other matters that he needed to pay attention to before leaving silently. He left behind Jian Chen all by himself.

Jian Chen exhaled deeply. For the time being, he did not have to worry about the matter of Immortal Exalt. His Way of the Sword had only just broken through. There were many other things he needed to do first.

He checked the Space Ring that the Heavenly Emperor of Sword Radiance had left to him, and his eyes immediately lit up. The Heavenly Emperor of Sword Radiance had actually given him a total of a million five-coloured immortal crystals, coupled with over a thousand mid grade God Tier heavenly resources and several dozen high grade God Tier heavenly resources.

On top of that, there were several hundred God Tier pills. They were high grade at the very least.

Both the heavenly resources and the pills were without an exception for increasing cultivation.

He had just broken through with the Way of the Sword, so his Chaotic Body could reach the eighteenth layer. These resources for cultivation were exactly what he needed right now.
