Chaotic Sword God

“Senior, are you talking about me?”

As soon as the woman finished talking, a voice suddenly rang out from behind her. Jian Chen’s figure appeared there silently, staring at the woman with a slight smile.

The winged woman stared straight at Jian Chen. Her face was extremely stern. She said solemnly, “Are you the kid who inherited my golden core of laws?”

“That’s right, it was me!” Jian Chen smiled faintly. He clasped his fist and said, “The matter between us in the past was just a deal, where you gave me your golden core of laws and I was responsible for detonating your power and completely destroying Gusta’s body, but regardless, I still have to thank senior for your bestowment back then.”

The woman’s face gradually sank. She could already tell what Jian Chen was implying. He was reminding her that the matters from back then were only a deal. Neither of them owed anything to the other.

“I never thought we’d actually slumber for so long. You were so puny back then, yet you’ve already become so powerful now,” the woman said sternly. She glanced at Jian Chen’s sea of consciousness, having sensed the strength of it already.

If she were in peak condition, then the current Jian Chen obviously posed no threat to her at all. He could not even be regarded as an ant.

But now, not only had she lost her body and cultivation, but even her soul was extremely feeble.

With the current strength of her soul, she obviously experienced a tremendous difference in might compared to Jian Chen’s sea of consciousness. It felt like she was facing an undefeatable opponent.

At the same time, she sensed a terrifying pressure that even gave her chills from the central location of Jian Chen’s sea of consciousness.

This series of factors made the woman who had just awoken feel despair.

“No, you haven’t actually been slumbering for too long. My strength has just increased a little quickly.” Jian Chen continued to smile faintly. He said patiently, “Though, didn’t you seniors perish completely back then? Even your lingering wills dispersed, so why have you ended up in my soul without any warning? You never told me that something like this would happen back then.”

His words immediately made the woman’s face change. It seemed like she could not come up with an explanation. She was also aware that Jian Chen was not as easy to fool as before with his current cultivation.

“Quick, wake up. There’s a change in the situation.” Left at a slight loss, she immediately communicated with the six other souls. At the same time, she sent wisps of the power of her soul to the six others. Her illusionary body rapidly shrank as her soul quickly weakened.

Jian Chen watched silently. He sensed what she was doing, but he did not stop her.

“Hmm? Where is this…”

“Have I finally awakened? I wonder how long we’ve been sleeping for, but regardless, we’ve finally earned a second chance at life. Hahahaha…”

“That’s strange. Who am I? Why can’t I recall it completely…”

......

…

Very soon, the six other souls all awakened. After suffering from temporary amnesia, they recalled what had happened in the past one after another. They understood everything that had happened before this.

“A change in the situation? What change?”

“You actually sacrificed the power of your own soul to awaken us. This is unheard of. And I had thought that the first to awaken would swallow this kid’s soul…”

“How is the kid who inherited our golden cores of laws back then doing? How strong is he? Has he reached our standard? Though, since we’ve awakened at the same time, clearly no one can claim him all for themselves. Let’s split him evenly…”

The experts who awakened afterwards clearly did not understand their current predicament. They had spoken up subconsciously.

“Shut up!” The winged woman’s face was ugly as it could get. She quickly silenced them with a growl, afraid that these ignorant people would make the situation even worse.

Only at this moment did the six newly-awakened souls sense that something amiss. They quickly stopped talking and checked their surroundings. Very soon, their faces all changed.

“What a powerful soul. This is a Ninth Heavenly Layer Chaotic Prime’s at the very least, and there are several other terrifying presences too…” someone immediately cried out.

“Is this really the junior who inherited our golden core of laws? How has he become so powerful? Logically speaking, we shouldn’t have slept for that long…”

“I am Jian Chen. Congratulations on your awakening, seniors.” Jian Chen clasped his fist and bowed towards these people as a junior. He had a faint smile.

No matter how terrifying these seven experts had been in their former lives, they were all sitting ducks right now.

The souls all fell silent. They had all understood the situation they were in. The junior who had been as feeble as an ant back then had actually become so powerful now. He could destroy them at whim. A result like this was unexpected.

“Origin Composition Daemon Exalt, it’s all up to you now,” one of the souls said sternly.

Shortly afterwards, one of the six souls changed and turned into a miniature figure the size of a hand. He wore black clothes with peppered hair. He had a hook nose, and his face was covered with wrinkles.

“I am the Origin Composition Daemon Exalt. The golden core of the Laws of Curses that you inherited back then was from me.” The hook-nosed old man stared at Jian Chen. Even though he was astounded by Jian Chen’s accomplishments, he did not behave as frantically or as helplessly as the others.

“However, my Laws of Curses are different from other people’s. My ways aren’t that easy to inherit,” the Origin Composition Daemon Exalt smiled mysteriously.

In the next moment, Jian Chen furrowed his brows slightly. A ripple appeared in his sea of consciousness.

He discovered that the Laws of Curses he comprehended were constantly collapsing. It felt like someone had severed the way, forcefully stripping him of his comprehension.

Shortly afterwards, fragments of ways drifted through Jian Chen’s sea of consciousness like snowflakes before being absorbed by the Origin Composition Daemon Exalt’s soul. These fragments of ways were highly nourishing to him. His soul swelled up at a visible rate.

Jian Chen was surprised. At this moment, he could truly sense his comprehension of the Laws of Curses constantly bleed away. He struggled to believe that the Origin Composition Daemon Exalt could still strip him of his comprehension in such a forceful and brutal way despite being so feeble. It was beyond imagination.

“This is probably an innate ability,” Jian Chen guessed inside.

“I had merged the Shared Fate technique into my ways back then. Since you’ve absorbed my golden core of laws, you obviously bear the presence of the Shared Fate technique as well.”

“The Shared Fate technique is an innate ability of my race. Once used, our fates become shared. Your survival is mine, and my death is yours. Two souls will mutually share one body…”

“Junior, I left behind the Shared Fate technique back then originally as a safety measure. Actually, I was very reluctant to use this technique. Once I use this technique, I’ll need to use quite a lot of strength to come out on top and claim the main spot, thus earning the right to control the body.”

“After claiming the main spot, I’ll have to expend a very great amount of energy to release the Shared Fate technique so that your fate no longer ties me down. Only then can I move against you.”

“In the past, the Shared Fate technique was usually used by my race when we encountered opponents we could not defeat. It was used on opponents stronger than us for a chance at survival. You’re a mere Chaotic Prime, yet I’m personally using the Shared Fate technique on you. You should feel honoured,” the Origin Composition Daemon Exalt said forcefully.

He used the fragments from the Laws of Curses to recover his soul to a certain extent. At the same time, he used the Shared Fate technique, and his soul began to merge with Jian Chen’s.

This was an innate ability. It was specially designed to be used on people stronger than the user. It was extremely forceful and very difficult to stop.

After hearing about the wonders of the Shared Fate technique, the other experts all let out sighs of relief. They had all sworn oaths of ways to not turn against each other before they had returned to Grand Prime. If the Origin Composition Daemon Exalt used the Shared Fate technique on Jian Chen, sharing the same fate as him, Jian Chen would not be able to touch them either.
