Bizarre Voyage: Summoning The Fourth Crisis

Soon, most of the players received the news that the Sin Furnace had been promoted.

Li Miao and Faraway, who were farming Wax Oil, immediately used Teleportation to get to Exile Peak.

After obtaining the new Reinforced Wax Stone and the Special Items schematic, Li Miao was a bit confused.

”The Reinforced Wax Stone is whatever, but this Frost Riding Spear... where are we supposed to find a ’Frost-type Attribute Object’?”

This was the first forging schematic the Sin Furnace had provided, so naturally, it drew a lot of attention.

Faraway glanced at it for a few seconds before looking away. He didn’t answer Li Miao’s question right away, instead suggesting, ”Let’s go farm some Reinforced Wax Stones first.”

The appearance of new Reinforced Wax Stones naturally meant they could enhance their main weapons, no longer having to use second-rate ones.

Hearing this, Li Miao nodded and set off with him, though he didn’t quite understand what Faraway was thinking.

Of course, they didn’t enter the same dungeon; they went in separately.

At the same time, a few other veteran players also arrived at the Sin Furnace.

They discovered that in addition to new qualities of Reinforced Wax Stones, the maximum Weapon Enhancement level had also been raised.

It was increased from a maximum of +2 to +4.

”My Great Axe can be enhanced again!”

No one was happier about this than Brother Mangzi. He wasn’t picky about his weapons, and the hefty Bloodstained Great Axe suited him perfectly.

Brother Mangzi promptly took out the Tier One Reinforced Wax Stones he had been saving for a long time and stepped up to the Sin Furnace’s anvil.

[Would you like to expend Tier One Reinforced Wax Stone x10 + 30 Wax Oil to temper the ”Bloodstained Great Axe +2”?]

[Tempering Success Rate: 75%]

[Tempering...]

Even though tempering it again required 10 Tier One Reinforced Wax Stones and 30 Wax Oil—no small amount—Brother Mangzi didn’t hesitate and immediately confirmed.

[CLANG!]

Before long, accompanied by a few strikes from a shadowy figure, the Reinforced Wax Stones quickly merged into Brother Mangzi’s Bloodstained Great Axe. The tempering was a success.

[Tempering Successful!]

[Bloodstained Great Axe +2 → Bloodstained Great Axe +3]

[Obtained: Bloodstained Great Axe +3 (Ordinary)]

[Bloodstained Great Axe +3 (Ordinary)]

[Type: Weapon]

[Effect: Power +3]

[Explanation: A great axe stained with blood. It is very heavy and requires sufficient power to wield.]

WHOOSH WHOOSH!

Brother Mangzi hefted it and swung it back and forth, discovering that its weight had also increased.

He had actually discovered long ago that the Bloodstained Great Axe had a hidden bonus after tempering: its weight also increased.

This naturally meant his attack power would increase accordingly, but this wasn’t shown in the item information provided by the Spirit Candle.

”Again!”

Brother Mangzi chose to continue tempering.

This time, however, the required number of Tier One Reinforced Wax Stones increased to fifteen, the Wax Oil needed rose to 40, and the success rate dropped to 65%.

This couldn’t help but make him a little nervous.

But as another series of clangs rang out, a smile appeared on Brother Mangzi’s face.

”Not bad, not bad.”

Brother Mangzi left contentedly with his +4 Bloodstained Great Axe.

Seeing this, Guagua, who had just logged on, came over as well. She happily placed her weapon on the anvil.

It was, of course, a Fine Lance purchased from the Candlekeeper’s shop.

Enhancing it to +3 required the same number of stones and had the same success rate as an Ordinary-quality weapon. However, it used Tier Two Reinforced Wax Stones, which had a lower drop rate and were naturally harder to collect.

Guagua watched in anticipation.

Although she was planning to switch weapons soon, she had these Wax Stones on her anyway, so she figured she might as well use them and sell the enhanced weapon to a newbie.

This time, however, a strange noise rang out, and the expectant look on Guagua’s face froze.

BANG!

The +2 lance shattered into pieces.

[Tempering Failed. Weapon destroyed.]

”Huh?” Guagua was in disbelief, on the verge of freaking out. ”I actually hit the twenty-five percent failure chance?”

The other players nearby couldn’t help but chuckle when they saw this.

”Not only that, the chance of the weapon being destroyed is also very small.”

”In a way, you could say this is a sign of good luck.”

Hearing this, Guagua could only walk dejectedly to the side of the furnace to reforge her lance.

The other players wanting to enhance their weapons also stepped forward one by one.

The area around the newly promoted Sin Furnace was bustling with activity.

「 ... 」

The Demon-Harboring Cottage was just as lively.

After entering a dungeon and farming monsters on Exile Island several times, Niuniu and Mushroom finally returned to the Demon-Harboring Cottage with enough Wax Oil.

Niuniu, of course, first set about repairing the cottage that he had broken.

Mushroom, on the other hand, immediately harvested the mature crops from the two basins.

[Demon Base Spirit Leaves · Tier One (Mature)]

[Mad Talk Mushroom · Tier One (Mature)]

[Obtained: Demon Base Spirit Leaves x6]

[Obtained: Demon Base Spirit Branch x2]

[Obtained: Mad Talk Mushroom x3]

[Obtained: Mad Talk Spore Powder x2]

The harvest from the Demon Base Spirit Leaves didn’t surprise Mushroom, but he was taken aback by the harvest from the Mad Talk Mushroom.

[Mad Talk Spore Powder]

[Type: Consumable]

[Effect: Inhaling this powder will cause the Madness status to accumulate.]

[Explanation: Spores from a mature Mad Talk Mushroom. Can be used as seeds or as an ingredient in potions.]

’If I remember correctly, mature Mad Talk Mushrooms can also be converted into seeds by the Demon-Storage Basin...’

Mushroom was lost in thought.

But he couldn’t be bothered to think about it right now. He bought two more Demon-Storage Basins and some Demon Base Seeds, then began using Wax Oil to irrigate and force them to mature.

He planned to test if force-irrigating them could even succeed, and if so, roughly how much Wax Oil it would take.
