Bizarre Voyage: Summoning The Fourth Crisis

Unfortunately, Li Miao didn’t find any useful information on the tombstones.

”Forget it. Let’s go.”

Li Miao shook his head, calling Shore over to continue onward.

Since entering the passage, their path had become linear. There was only one passageway behind the graveyard, with no alternate routes.

The two of them quickly passed through the first graveyard, entered the passageway, and headed for the next area.

The Spirit Candle’s guidance appeared once more. After lighting the Milestone Spirit Candle, the two pressed on for a while before the path ahead suddenly opened up.

Unsurprisingly, it was another graveyard.

Moss and unidentified fungi grew on the damp, soft soil, and nameless vines dangled from the ceiling.

At first glance, it appeared to be a quiet, secluded place.

But Li Miao and Shore’s gazes sharpened. They raised their weapons in unison, poised for a fight.

For in the center of the graveyard, a tall, burly figure was kneeling on one knee with its back to them.

It wore leather Light Armor. Its bare shoulders were covered in gray Wolf Hair, and the fur on the nape of its neck hung down like a short haircut.

Like the townspeople, it had blades embedded in its head. Two sharp swords were sheathed on its back, exuding a latent aura of Madness.

[Gray Wolf Follower Warrior]

”See? I told you the main event was yet to come...”

Li Miao took a deep breath.

”It looks tough just from its stance...” Shore felt the pressure too and raised his Devil Fish Tail Staff. ”First strike’s ours!”

Li Miao nodded.

A moment later, a Blood-colored Magic Ball shot out, hurtling straight for the Gray Wolf Follower’s head.

Just then, the Gray Wolf Follower moved.

In a single instant, it sidestepped the Blood Stone Burst and drew the sharp swords from its back, its cold, crazed wolf-like eyes locking onto Shore.

”You who disturb my master’s eternal slumber...”

”...Die!”

”AWOOO—”

A piercing Wolf Howl echoed through the graveyard.

An illusory Warfire ignited around the Gray Wolf Follower. Its powerful, agile body instantly flushed with blood, Ready to Strike with immense explosive power coiled within.

Li Miao let out a low shout and, with a wave of his hand, sent a Crescent Moon Sword Qi flying.

CLANG!

The Gray Wolf Follower crossed its twin swords, the sharp edges meeting the Sword Qi and dissipating it completely.

The next moment, its leg muscles tensed, and its figure blurred as it lunged at Li Miao!

In that instant, the Large Shield met the blades. A powerful jolt traveled up from the Shield, and Li Miao’s health immediately dropped by a tenth.

’So fast! So much Power!’

’And that was with the Large Shield blocking most of the force!’

Furthermore, its first strike having failed, the Gray Wolf Follower was already swinging its arms for another attack.

Startled, Li Miao instinctively activated Knight Charge, using an attack as a defense in an attempt to interrupt his opponent’s assault.

Another one of Shore’s Blood Stone Bursts followed close behind.

In the face of these attacks, the Gray Wolf Follower unexpectedly pulled back its assault. It feinted, and while Li Miao was unprepared, it appeared directly in front of Shore in the back line.

’Its target was Shore all along!’

With a low growl, the Gray Wolf Follower’s swift twin blades scissored toward him.

Shore’s pupils shrank.

He had only just realized what was happening. With no time to defend, his only option was to instinctively Dodge and bet on the fifty-fifty odds.

But the Gray Wolf Follower was simply too fast.

Before he could even begin to dodge, the blades fell!

SHLICK!

The blades sliced through, leaving deep gashes on Shore’s neck and waist. His health dropped straight to zero!

”Not good!”

By the time Li Miao, who was in front, could react, Shore had already turned into Wax Ash. The Gray Wolf Follower turned, its attention now fixed on him.

”What the hell?”

Now a Wandering Soul, Shore stared blankly at the word ”DEAD” before his eyes.

Although he hadn’t put any points into Agility, he should have had a chance to use Dodge and take his chances, even against a foe as fast as the Gray Wolf Follower.

What he hadn’t expected was that the Gray Wolf Follower would use a feint, catching him completely off guard.

Its Attack Power was also appallingly high, and it aimed straight for his vitals, landing a one-hit kill.

CLANG! CLANG! CLANG!—

The violent sounds of clashing steel snapped Shore back to his senses. He looked over and saw that in just a few seconds, the Gray Wolf Follower had already struck Li Miao nearly ten times. Sparks flew from the Law Knight’s Shield!

’This is bad!’

Shore quickly flew toward the Spirit Candle. He had to resurrect and get back to help Miaozi.

”ROAR—”

However, just as he was about to resurrect, a Wolf Howl and a loud THUD rang out. Li Miao’s Wandering Soul appeared in front of him.

The two stared at each other, speechless.

”...This thing is ridiculous.”

After a few seconds of silence, Li Miao broke the awkward atmosphere.

”I wasn’t focused enough just now. I could have dodged that last hit. Let’s go again. I refuse to believe the two of us can’t take it down.”

Shore said defiantly.

”Same here. I should have used my King’s Battle Cry before we engaged,” Li Miao readily agreed.

「A few minutes later.」

”Again!”

「A few more minutes later.」

”Seriously? How does this thing heal itself when it attacks?”
