Bizarre Voyage: Summoning The Fourth Crisis

The key was that even without being attacked, the Mad Fallen Demon Ghost’s Blood Volume was constantly decreasing.

’This must be what it meant when the description said it would ”burn away every last bit of its flesh and blood.”’

However, its Life Value wasn’t dropping very quickly.

Trying to win by simply waiting for its Life Value to hit zero was clearly unrealistic.

Because of its Talent, its Power would only grow stronger, and the margin for error would shrink.

Simply running and dodging wasn’t the right way to handle it.

With this in mind, Faraway quickly decided on his next course of action.

He began to focus on the monster’s attacks, constantly looking for an opening. Even in the most dangerous situations, he kept trying to find a chance to deal damage.

In an instant, a blood-red afterimage and the silhouette of the tall, iron-faced man crisscrossed, clashing relentlessly.

They appeared to be evenly matched.

”No way...”

Guagua paused to watch, stunned by the scene.

However, she quickly snapped out of it and headed for the Spirit Candle, preparing to respawn and help.

But before she could even make it back, she saw Faraway’s Wandering Soul on the path...

”Faraway Lord, you...” Guagua was shocked. ’Seeing how he was fighting, she’d thought he was going to pull off some amazing moves and kill the Mad Fallen Demon Ghost.’

”Made a mistake. I died.” Faraway’s reply was blunt, showing no signs of embarrassment.

After his Resurrection, he took out his backup weapon and gear.

”The Mad Fallen Demon Ghost’s Blood Volume is dropping. I don’t know if it’ll revert to its original state. We can’t give it a chance to breathe.”

With that, Faraway headed back down.

Seeing this, Guagua quickly followed him.

The Mad Fallen Demon Ghost’s Blood Volume was indeed dropping continuously.

And thanks to its Talent, its already terrifying power became even more suffocating.

They died. And died. And died again.

To be honest, it was the first time Guagua had ever seen Faraway wipe out and die.

And to see him die so many times in a row was truly a rare sight.

But it actually made her feel that Faraway Lord was more human.

He had moments where he was helpless, too. He wasn’t the ridiculously overpowered player everyone imagined him to be.

”Its Attributes completely overpower us. If we were Level 20... we might barely have some room to maneuver.”

The two of them ran back and forth between the Spirit Candle and the underground space, constantly switching between their Wandering Soul and Candle Spirit Body forms. In the middle of all this, Faraway even started a conversation.

”Is it really that terrifying?” Guagua asked, shocked.

’If Faraway Lord was saying this, she figured that most players probably couldn’t beat the Mad Fallen Demon Ghost even at Level 20.’

’The Recovery Wax Blocks certainly gave them a bigger margin for error, but... judging from her last few deaths, Guagua figured she’d probably never get a chance to even use one against the Mad Fallen Demon Ghost...’

”We can wear it down,” Faraway added.

’He had no qualms about it. Right now, it was the most practical method.’

He was a pragmatic person.

”Let’s take turns,” Guagua suggested. ”Its Blood Volume is almost gone.”

Faraway nodded. Soon, the two began to tag-team the Mad Fallen Demon Ghost... by feeding it kills.

This kept the Mad Fallen Demon Ghost in its current form, its aggression, speed, and Power growing ever stronger.

Eventually, even Faraway’s survival time was cut down to be almost as short as Guagua’s...

It was during this ”garbage time”...

Faraway suddenly remembered the items from the grave pits and took them out one by one.

When it saw the *Sta Ancestor’s Warning* in Faraway’s hand, its Attack suddenly faltered.

”...”

However, this only stalled it for a moment before the hesitation was once again replaced by Madness.

”Interesting...” Faraway chuckled as he died again.

He then tried this several more times.

He discovered that the items from the grave pits all seemed to make the Mad Fallen Demon Ghost pause or hesitate. The one that ”controlled” it the longest was the Treasured Strawman Doll dropped by the Gray Wolf Followers. A flash of pain even appeared in the monster’s eyes.

BAM!

Naturally, Faraway didn’t let these openings go to waste. He seized the chance to attack, wiping out its last sliver of Life Value.

It fell to its knees. The Madness in its eyes slowly faded as its body began to shrivel rapidly. In just a few seconds, it was completely desiccated.

It wrapped its arms around its chest, hugging itself gently. It murmured hoarsely, its voice tinged with regret.

”I’m sorry...”

With the Madness gone, he seemed to have reverted to the heroic Lord he once was.

”I’ll be with you.”

The voice of his wife, Jona, was exceptionally gentle, as if she were holding him tight, never to let go.

The last of its flesh and blood burned away. It embraced itself, like a couple holding one another, finally finding its ultimate release.

Its desiccated body turned to Ashes and slowly dissipated...

A stream of notifications appeared before the two of them.

As the final boss of Seaside Town, the Mad Fallen Demon Ghost dropped an abundance of rewards.

However, likely due to the ”unknown” status of the Warfire between the Mad Fallen Demon Ghost and the Lady of Tyranny, the only Fire Seed that dropped was the one for the Mad Fallen Lord.

Aside from that, their equipment and weapons also dropped, which was pretty good...

But the Fire Seed was clearly meant for a melee class, making it unsuitable for either Faraway or Guagua.

So, the only drops worth their attention were the Magic and Battle Ash from the Mad Fallen Demon Ghost.

”Thank goodness this boss dies on its own...”

Guagua breathed a sigh of relief. Dealing with the two bosses separately had been hard enough, but the Mad Fallen Demon Ghost’s power was on a whole other level.

Without that scripted health drain, they had no idea how long they would have been stuck here.

After killing the boss, they decided to leave the instance first and go find the others to compare notes.

...

Faraway’s group had successfully killed the strongest boss in all of Seaside Town, effectively clearing the area from a gameplay perspective.

But for Li Miao, the ”First Player of the Server,” the situation was far from optimistic.

After yet another death, the two ”bros,” Li Miao and Shore, sat by the Spirit Candle, sulking.

’The Mad Fallen Demon Ghost might die on its own, but first, you had to get the two bosses to fuse.’

”Why didn’t you pull aggro?” ”How did you get instakilled again?”

After a moment of silence, they both asked at the same time.

Hearing each other’s questions, they both froze, then their faces flushed with anger as they spoke again.

”You think I wasn’t pulling aggro?!” ”I’m a squishy Mage!”

Again, they spoke at the same time.

”Squishy my ass! You’re an Iron-faced Warlock! Was getting that Warfire a waste? Don’t you know how to dodge? You have legs, so use them! Might as well have brought a Flower of Drowning, at least it could take a couple more hits!”

”You, pull aggro? You couldn’t pull yourself out of a paper bag! You missed your charge twice just now—you think I’m blind or something?! I saw it crystal clear! I can’t stand you, you Low IQ Knight!”

”I’m so done with you. If you had even a little bit of damage, we wouldn’t have died so many times! Anyone watching would think I’m playing a combat game, but anyone who doesn’t know better would think I’m playing a ghost simulator!”

”Oh really? Weren’t you the one telling me how tanky you are and how you could take a beating? Didn’t that Lord practically cripple you in two hits? Is your armor made of paper mache or something?”

”Do you even know how to play the game?”

”You’ve got some nerve saying that to me!”

The more they talked, the angrier they got, arguing without holding back. They were red in the face and veins were popping on their necks.

”Asshole!” x2

With their faces flushed, they ended the argument with the standard insult, then clammed up, their faces stony.

The air turned icy for a while.

It looked as though they were about to sever all ties and go their separate ways for good.

Suddenly, Li Miao stood up without a word and started walking toward the boss room.

Shore shot him a glance, snorted coldly, and silently picked up his Devil Fish Tail Staff to follow.

Before long, their frantic shouts echoed from the underground space once again.

”Holy shit, you Low IQ Knight, what the hell are you doing?! Cover me!”

”Hey, can you shut your mouth, you clown with the Wooden Staff? Keep yapping and I swear I’ll kill you first for a morale boost, believe it!”

”...”
