Bizarre Voyage: Summoning The Fourth Crisis

The second floor of the tavern yielded little. After some exploring, the two of them finally managed to bypass the Blood Robe Priests in the square by going over the rooftops and entering the fortress.

After carefully searching the fortress’s exterior, even the Storyteller came up empty-handed, so they had no choice but to enter the main hall.

Compared to the Blood Robe Priests, the Gray Wolf Attendant seemed like it was just there to fill a slot. Even the two of them, who had been tormented by the priests for so long, got past it with ease.

And so, the Storyteller soon arrived at the Lord’s study.

”Well... this is it.”

Looking at the vast number of books in the study—some containing item information and some not—he saw that he could read them all.

”This is... a lot of work...”

Muttering to himself, the Storyteller began picking up the books and examining them one by one.

...

Several days passed. The first batch of new Demon Summoner players, along with a few rebellious players of ordinary bloodlines, had joined the ranks of those working for Luo Ge.

With the increase in Demon Summoner players, various minor issues related to their bloodline began to surface.

”Damn, the success rate for Demon Pearl Condensation is way too low! Has any ’Emperor of Europe’ actually managed to create a pearl from a Fishman Leader?”

Indeed, the biggest issue was the success rate. The Demon Pearl Condensation Skill had an extremely low chance of success, which was enough to break the morale of some incredibly unlucky players.

But they soon discovered that the higher their Level, the greater the success rate.

The catch, however, was that their own Level had to be high while the target monster’s was low.

This motivated the Demon Summoner players to start diligently grinding Levels, already fantasizing about their future as a Grand Summoner with a Law Knight on their left and an Iron-faced Warlock on their right.

Moreover, during this period, some Demon Summoner players had successfully advanced to the Embers Tier by igniting their Warfire at a Spirit Candle.

And, of course, the Effect of their Warfire was enhanced as well.

First, they gained an additional summon slot, allowing them to summon two subordinate creatures.

Second, their Attributes received a slight boost.

There was also a small incident.

”Magic Pearl?” On his way back, feeling down after a poor harvest, Brother Yu overheard a group of Demon Summoner players talking. He fished a pearl out from his Spirit Candle and asked in surprise, ”Are you guys talking about this?”

He was holding a Giant-Tailed Sea Monster Pearl. In terms of both its luster and quality, it was far superior to the Magic Pearls held by the other Demon Summoner players.

Pai Daxun, who had a head start among the Demon Summoners and was now Level 12, heard him and walked over. He gave the Magic Pearl a strange look. ”...Brother Yu, did you change your bloodline? Are you playing a Demon Summoner?”

He’d assumed Brother Yu must have changed his bloodline; otherwise, how could he have gotten a Magic Pearl?

”No, this thing dropped from a monster. I never knew what it was for,” Brother Yu said, shaking his head.

”It dropped from a monster...”

Hearing Brother Yu’s words, the crowd immediately frowned.

After a long moment of contemplation, a player suddenly spoke up. ”This thing... could it be a Primordial Magic Pearl?”

His words were a revelation, and the eyes of the assembled Demon Summoner players instantly lit up.

”That’s right, that has to be it.”

”But what does a Primordial Magic Pearl even do?”

”I think the item description said that special Primordial Magic Pearls aren’t restricted by the original monster’s power level, but it was a bit vague... No one’s ever actually tested one, so we don’t know for sure.”

The group of Demon Summoner players immediately broke into a flurry of discussion, everyone talking at once.

Seeing them arguing back and forth, Brother Yu simply handed the Giant-Tailed Sea Monster Pearl to Pai Daxun. ”Why don’t you try it and find out?”

”Huh? Really?”

Pai Daxun said, pleasantly surprised. After getting a nod from Brother Yu, he didn’t hesitate. Under the envious gazes of the other Demon Summoner players, he placed the Magic Pearl directly into his chest.

「A moment later.」

A Giant-tailed Sea Monster appeared on the shore. Perhaps because it was no longer in the sea, its movements looked awkward.

”How is it even bigger than the one I killed?” Brother Yu mused, stroking his chin.

[Giant-tailed Sea Monster (Subordinate)]

[Tier: Embers]

[Level: 12]

[Talent: Risk Avoidance Instinct (Instinctively flees from life-threatening danger)]

[Skills: Giant Tail Slap, Black Touch Entanglement]

[Explanation: A Primordial Magic Pearl dropped by a Giant-tailed Sea Monster near Candle Island. It has an extremely low drop rate. Its unique composition means its power is not restricted to the level it was at the time of the monster’s death, and its chance of being damaged is also extremely low.]

”...”

After seeing the Giant-tailed Sea Monster’s information, the crowd of Demon Summoner players instantly realized the incredible implications.

”A monster from a Primordial Magic Pearl... scales with the user’s Level?”

someone said in disbelief.

They had seen info about the Giant-tailed Sea Monster on the forums before. The one near Candle Island was only Level 9, yet the one summoned now was Level 12.

Without a doubt, its Level was being influenced by Pai Daxun’s own.

”...”

After a moment of silence, the group of Demon Summoner players all turned to stare at Brother Yu, their eyes burning with intensity.

The next moment.

The crowd of Demon Summoner players instantly swarmed forward, surrounding Brother Yu so tightly he couldn’t move, and began shouting excitedly.

”Brother Yu, I’m your biggest fan!” ”Brother Yu, I’m your long-lost brother!” ”Brother Yu, I’ll transfer you 10,000, sell the pearl to me!” ”I’ll offer 20,000!” ”Brother Yu, I’m your long-lost dad!”

”Whoa, whoa, whoa! Wait, stop, STOP!” Brother Yu’s head was starting to ache from all the shouting. He quickly cut them off. ”Listen to me.”

”You all want this Giant-Tailed Sea Monster Pearl, right?”

Brother Yu rubbed his temples. Only then did he finally realize the true value of the pearl he’d been holding.
