Bizarre Voyage: Summoning The Fourth Crisis

After a period of exploration, a player had finally succeeded in clearing the Coastal Town Regga instance.

Information had always spread quickly among the Spirit Candle Players.

And so, it wasn’t long before a rough guide for Coastal Town Regga appeared on the Spirit Candle Forum.

The author of the guide was, of course, Faraway—the only player known to have cleared the instance so far.

”...There’s a prerequisite for killing the final boss. You need to get the collar from the lighthouse to open a hidden door in the warehouse behind the fortress.”

”There’s a pit inside the Blood Pool to the right of the Gray Wolf Followers. You can pick something up in there that helps counter the final boss’s Madness...”

”Additionally, in the empty grave pit inside the Lord’s burial chamber, you can find items related to the Mad Fallen Lord. Using one in combat can stun him for a second, but they’re single-use. The most effective of these is the Strawman Doll dropped by the Gray Wolf Followers...”

The language was concise and direct, with all the key points clearly explained. All in all, Faraway’s guide was spot-on.

And... considering most players hadn’t even cleared the instance yet, this naturally earned him a wave of admiration from the forum’s players, who were also greatly inspired.

Wangzai Milk Cow: ”As expected of Faraway Lord! The first to clear it! That’s incredible!”

Nannan: ”Speaking of which, who was the First Player of the Server again?”

My Son Failed, But I’m On Shore: ”Hahahahaha, bro, you might as well be a little more direct... @Brother Miao Won’t Fail the Exam”

Brother Miao Won’t Fail the Exam: ”? If it wasn’t for you, I would’ve cleared it ages ago.”

Aside from the praise for Faraway and the other players’ banter, most of the discussion was, of course, about the game’s content.

Venerable Lique: ”The difficulty of this instance is way too high. It feels like there’s a boss in every single area. I’m so exhausted from fighting.”

Bees don’t like flying: ”This Blood Robe Priest is so cheap! I’m sick of him!”

Battle Bliss: ”...And someone’s already cleared it, while Bu Long and I are still stuck outside the fortress! (Crying)”

Storyteller: ”Don’t worry, Brother Mangzi, you’re not alone. (Crying with sunglasses emoji)”

I do Bull’s Push-ups: ”If you can’t beat him, you can just climb onto the roof and go around him. Besides, the drops from the Blood Robe Priest aren’t that useful for you anyway, right? @Battle Bliss”

Battle Bliss: ”Huh?! WTF... You can get on the roof? You can just go around him? I thought he was a mandatory boss! (Dumbfounded dog face emoji)”

Bron Really Not Deaf: ”...For real?”

Brother Mangzi and Bu Long, who were still stuck on the Blood Robe Priest, couldn’t believe what they were hearing from Niuniu.

’Isn’t he a mandatory boss?’

I do Bull’s Push-ups: ”...Why do you guys think I say Spirit Candle is an open-world game with an incredible amount of freedom? And this is a plaza, why wouldn’t you be able to go around? (Nose-picking emoji)”

Battle Bliss: ”Holy crap!”

Bron Really Not Deaf: ”Holy crap!”

Ba Yue Chang’an: ”Holy crap!”

Prompted by Niuniu’s tip, a group of players slapped their foreheads as it suddenly dawned on them.

’That’s right!’

’This is a goddamn open-world game with tons of freedom! If you can’t win, you can run! If you don’t want to fight, you can figure out a way around it!’

’Spirit Candle has never had a hard rule that every player must kill all the monsters to keep exploring. They’d been stuck in their own limited way of thinking.’

’They saw a boss blocking the path in the plaza, and with no visible side roads, they just assumed it was a mandatory fight.’

’Little did they know that with Spirit Candle’s level of freedom, if there was no path, they could just make their own.’

’Climbing on a roof is way easier than fighting a boss!’

’If the buildings in these instances didn’t automatically repair themselves, they could even dig... tunnels~’

I do Bull’s Push-ups: ”One more thing. The Gray Wolf Followers aren’t a mandatory fight either. After discussing it with Faraway Lord, I found that if you don’t fight them, you’ll only lose out on some items from the grave pit and a few useful collectibles. You can still enter the boss room through the Blood Pool, but the difficulty will be much, much higher.”

”In short, my recommendation is to fight the Gray Wolf Followers if you can. Their Fire Seed is pretty good, and to put it bluntly... if you can’t even beat them, then entering the final boss room is just serving yourselves up on a platter to that couple. It’ll be tough to even grab your Wax Ash and escape.”

Niuniu didn’t hold anything back, sharing all his discoveries with the other players. He even posted his own guide for the Gray Wolf Followers, making sure more people knew about it.

His words didn’t just offer players a way to ”cheese” the encounter; they pointed out a whole new way of thinking for many who were struggling.

For some players, it was a moment of epiphany, like the clouds parting to reveal a clear sky.

Eagle’s Fierce Flame: ”Master, I am enlightened!”

Ah Lala: ”Master, I am enlightened!”

Fellow Daoist Shushan: ”Master, I am enlightened!”

Ye Chen: ”One leaf can block the sight of a mountain; two beans can block the sound of thunder. My mind is suddenly clear!”

Huo Wang: ”Hahahaha, I’m enlightened! Your master here is enlightened, hahahaha!!!”

Old Dice: ”Too good! As expected of the man who can do push-ups with his Niuniu!”

As the saying goes, ”Give a man a fish, and you feed him for a day. Teach a man to fish, and you feed him for a lifetime.” Today, Niuniu had unintentionally taught many players how to ”fish.”

Some of the ”Prison Players,” who had been feeling tortured ever since entering Coastal Town Regga, seemed to have ”achieved enlightenment and ascended” because of this, experiencing a moment of sudden revelation.

Of course, besides these discussions about exploration, some players also focused their attention on the story of Coastal Town Regga.

”So, there’s something I don’t quite get. Why is the Watcher at the lighthouse a monster? And why does its dog drop the collar that opens the basement?”
