Bizarre Voyage: Summoning The Fourth Crisis

Hearing this, the crowd of players naturally nodded vigorously.

”There’s only one of these pearls, so it wouldn’t be fair to just give it to someone…” Brother Yu said after a moment of thought. ”Forget money, I don’t need it. And forget Wax Oil, I have no use for it either.”

”How about this.”

”We’ll decide the winner through fishing. Over the next three days, whoever catches the fish with the highest rarity gets this Magic Pearl. How does that sound?”

Besides, he had been pretty bored lately. He wasn’t getting any good catches; it felt like all the fish in the sea had gotten smarter.

Since this group of Demon Summoner players wanted something from him, he decided to take the opportunity to organize a fishing competition for fun.

Hearing this, the Demon Summoner players exchanged glances, then rushed off in a hurry toward the coast where the Beach Sand Worms could be found.

Before long, a few players hurriedly brought Sand Worm skins into the Reef Cave.

But Pai Daxun did something different. With a sly grin, he offered a few pieces of Sand Worm Bait to Brother Yu. ”Brother Yu, Brother Yu, a little something for you. Just a small token of my respect, haha.”

”Are you trying to test me with this? Ahem.” Brother Yu coughed, nonchalantly pocketing the Sand Worm Bait. ”Even so, my rules haven’t changed. The winner still has to be the one with the highest rarity catch.”

”But I usually fish at the base of that cliff over there.”

Brother Yu jutted his chin in a certain direction and said in a low voice.

Pai Daxun’s eyes lit up. After thanking him, he set off with his fishing rod.

Soon, one after another, Demon Summoner players began neglecting their usual duties to go fishing by the shore.

...

「Seaside Town Square.」

A player with the ID ”Sitting and Not Forgetting the Dao,” accompanied by his partner, finally managed to slay the Blood Robe Priest before them.

After the two of them divided the loot, Forgotten Dao finally got his hands on the Blood Robe Priest’s Fire Seed.

”Hahaha, I did it!”

Forgotten Dao was ecstatic. He quickly sat down cross-legged next to a Spirit Candle.

”Hey, are you really going to perform Fire Ignition with that Blood Robe Priest’s Fire Seed? That thing lowers your intelligence, you know,” his partner said.

Although few players had done a Fusion with the Blood Robe Priest so far, they weren’t the first.

Faraway had previously found a Faith Stream player to test it out, which was how the players learned more information about the Blood Robe Priest.

”Who cares if it makes you dumber? As long as it’s strong enough, that’s all that matters!”

Forgotten Dao couldn’t care less. After taking out the Blood Tongue, he excitedly chose to fuse with the Fire Seed.

[Fire Ignition successful!]

[Your Warfire has been changed to: Blood Robe Priest]

[Your Constitution +2, Faith +7, Spirit -2]

[New Talent ”Sacrifice” acquired. New Skill ”Substitute Sacrifice” acquired…]

[Sacrifice: You offer the flesh and blood of the living as a sacrifice, presenting madness and receiving the Blessing of madness in return. You can consume Faith Power to summon Sacrificial Living Corpses.]

[Your body has been altered by the Warfire. Constitution has slightly increased, Faith has greatly increased, and Spirit has slightly decreased.]

[...]

After the Fire Ignition.

Forgotten Dao’s face quickly turned an unnatural shade of pale, and a flicker of abnormal madness would flash through his eyes from time to time.

”Hehehe, it worked, hehe,” Forgotten Dao chuckled excitedly.

His partner, watching from the side, couldn’t help but gulp. ’Could this thing really affect a player’s mental state? Forgotten Dao already seems… not quite right…’

[Sitting and Not Forgetting the Dao]

[Tier: Embers]

[Level: 18]

[Warfire: Blood Robe Priest]

[Ability Values: ...]

[Talents: Devotion, Sacrifice]

[Abilities: Dodge, Recovery Wax Block]

[Skills: Bone Fork Throwing, Storm Frenzy Fist, Guard Flame Assault, Substitute Sacrifice]

Forgotten Dao was clearly a veteran player.

His progression had been difficult during the early game when the Faith Stream was very weak, but now that he had performed Fire Ignition with the Blood Robe Priest’s Fire Seed, he would no longer have such worries!

He put on the Blood Robe of the Priest, donned the Gulard Iron Mask, and stowed the Blood Tongue in his inventory for later use before taking the [Human Skin Banner] in hand.

Then, he slowly turned his head, his slightly crazed eyes falling on his partner as he let out a low chuckle. ”Hehehe…”

His partner felt a chill run down his spine and instinctively drew his Weapon. ”Forgotten Dao, are you fucking okay? Are you already going crazy from the influence?”

Forgotten Dao didn’t speak. He just took a slow step forward, shaking the Banner and muttering. As he did, a blood-red mist condensed around him, and one Living Corpse after another appeared by his side.

The partner’s pupils contracted. Just as he was about to make a move, he saw the other man suddenly burst out laughing.

”You fell for it, hahaha!”

His partner was speechless.

Forgotten Dao quickly deactivated his transformation, returning to his original appearance.

”Don’t worry. Right now, I just feel a bit of Sluggishness in controlling my body. I probably won’t lose control unless I’m in a fight.”

He shrugged, then added teasingly, ”I might just stab you in the back then, so you’d better watch out.”

His partner’s mouth twitched, and he started cursing under his breath.

Soon, the two pushed forward, eventually reaching the second tomb in the underground area, where they saw the much-discussed Gray Wolf Followers.

”Hehe, let me get the jump on it.”

Forgotten Dao chuckled lowly again, then took out the Human Skin Banner as his body and eyes began to transform.

But then, something unexpected happened.

Just as Forgotten Dao was about to change his form and summon his Sacrificial Living Corpses, the Gray Wolf Followers in front of them suddenly stirred.

The Gray Wolf Followers moved slightly.

It sniffed the air a couple of times, seeming to catch a noteworthy scent, then drew its blade and slowly stood up.

Staring at the stunned Forgotten Dao and his partner, the Gray Wolf Followers’ eyes turned cold and dangerous as it let out a low growl.

”Domitak, it seems you’ve forgotten, you filthy creature…”

”I told you… never to appear before me again.”

ROAR—

The next moment, the Gray Wolf Followers went berserk, launching a furious assault. Every move aimed for their vital points, as if determined to kill them on the spot.

This left the two of them utterly astonished.

After all, they hadn’t attacked the Gray Wolf Followers, nor had they tried to enter the tomb behind it.

So why was the Gray Wolf Followers suddenly attacking them now?

’Aren’t the Gray Wolf Followers supposed to be non-aggressive?’

...

Most of the players who had entered the game not long ago were now familiar with the basic combat flow. They had pushed the main battlefront to Exile Island, where they kept the White-gifted Prisoners company while farming for equipment.

Meanwhile, the veteran players, led by people like Li Miao and Faraway, had mostly reached the Level 20 cap.

As for that unknown ruin battlefield, it remained an insurmountable chasm before the players.

Even a fully-equipped Faraway had only managed to whittle its health down by about half before it used a skill that made its defense unbreakable.

Of course, this wasn’t the players’ fault.

That Golden Bull Guard was already Level 25, and its Tier was definitely higher than Embers. It was no surprise that it was so powerful.

In the meantime, Luo Ge had taken the time to open a new map for the players: [Unknown Islands].

This ”island” was actually an archipelago, a chain of slightly larger islands, tiny islets, and reefs all connected together.

It was mostly populated by monsters similar to the Fishman Sand Worms, with no trace of human presence like on Exile Island or in Seaside Town.

Because of this, Luo Ge didn’t put too much energy into it. No people meant not much information to be excavated.

However, the drops were quite plentiful, and many of the monsters there dropped bait.

Brother Yu had already taken up permanent residence in the archipelago and hadn’t returned to Candle Island in a long time.

As for Luo Ge, he was preparing for a new round of upgrades.

[Spirit Candle]

[Tier: Embers]

[Remaining Wax Oil: 12,690 (10,000 required for upgrade)]

[Spirit Candle Buildings: Sin Furnace (Tier One), Spirit Fire Harbor (Tier Two)]

[Anchored Islands: Candle Island (Small Solitary Island), Exile Island (Medium Solitary Island)]

[Summoned Candle Spirits: 517]

He wasn’t in a hurry to anchor more islands, planning to upgrade the Spirit Candle’s Tier first.
