I Married the President

Chapter 597: Chapter 597: Master, Have You and Grandmaster Gotten Your Marriage License?

The man said gratefully, ”No matter what, thank you. Otherwise, we’d still be in the dark, wasting our money on that scam.”

Claire Sinclair smiled but didn’t say anything.

Back at the hotel that day, Theo Rhodes immediately started venting to Claire Sinclair. ”Master, I went out for an interview today and got beaten up by a few stubborn old-timers. They insisted Quack Doctor Holloway wasn’t a fraud. Look at my hand—it’s still purple! I didn’t dare fight back.”

Claire Sinclair saw his hand was covered in bruises and felt a little guilty. ”Be more careful next time you’re doing an interview. If there’s danger, just run. You don’t have to interview that specific person.”

Theo Rhodes grumbled, ”I’ve learned my lesson. Next time, I’ll definitely pick my interview subjects more carefully.”

Claire Sinclair suddenly thought of something and warned him, ”We’ve stirred up a real hornet’s nest. Some of the criminals who are on the run might try to get revenge on us. You need to be extra careful. Try not to go anywhere by yourself.”

”Oh, right. I should call my dad and have him arrange a few bodyguards for me.”

Claire Sinclair shot him a look and raised an eyebrow. ”You’re not actually going to bring bodyguards along on every interview from now on, are you?”

”Of course not! I can let them go once the dust settles. Besides, Master, don’t you travel with a whole group of bodyguards? It’s so impressive!”

Thinking of the bodyguards her husband had arranged, Claire Sinclair felt a small thrill of happiness. She smiled. ”I probably won’t be able to travel so far for work anymore, but I’ll do my best to get you some more in-depth assignments.”

”Why not?” Theo Rhodes couldn’t help but ask.

Claire Sinclair rested a hand on her flat stomach and said quietly, ”I’m pregnant.”

Theo Rhodes’s eyes shot wide open. He staggered back a few steps as if he’d seen a ghost. ”Master... Master... You and... him... Are you married?”

Claire Sinclair slowly looked up to meet his gaze. ”We’ve been married for almost a year.”

Theo Rhodes: !!!

’This secret marriage is like something out of a suspense thriller.’

Just then, Adrian Quincy walked in from outside.

Claire Sinclair immediately went to greet him. ”Mr. Quincy, can we head back now?”

’They’re married and she still calls him Mr. Quincy? Master, you’re being misleading! Totally misleading!’

Adrian Quincy wrapped an arm around his wife’s slender waist and said gently, ”The aftermath has been taken care of. The informant who was detained has been successfully rescued. We’ll head back tonight.”

”That’s wonderful!” Claire Sinclair beamed. ”I’d like to rest for a few days after we get back. Can you spare a little time to go with me to the hospital for a check-up?”

”Of course.”

Overjoyed, Claire Sinclair buried her face in his chest, her own face radiating pure happiness.

Theo Rhodes shuffled over with his head down, forcing himself to ignore the blinding glare of their PDA. He said timidly, ”Master, Mr. Quincy, I have a question.”

The embracing couple turned in unison to look at the bewildered young man.

Theo Rhodes asked bluntly, ”Since Master is pregnant, are you going to keep the marriage a secret or go public?”

Adrian Quincy turned to look at his wife’s lovely face. ”Claire, what do you think?”

Claire Sinclair stroked her stomach, thinking it over seriously. ”Let’s keep it a secret for now. If we suddenly go public, I’m afraid I won’t be able to handle the online gossip. I was looking it up last night—the first three months of pregnancy are the most critical. You have to stay positive. I want to wait until the pregnancy is more stable before we announce anything.”

Theo Rhodes was at a loss for words.

’Master’s online reputation was mixed. If someone with ulterior motives used her pregnancy to stir up trouble and took the opportunity to attack Mr. Quincy, her mood would definitely suffer. That would be incredibly harmful for a pregnant woman.’
