I Married the President

Chapter 591: Chapter 591: This State Will Last for a Long Time

When dinner was served, Claire Sinclair had no appetite, but she still forced herself to eat a bowl of rice.

After dinner, the couple took turns showering, then sat snuggled together on the sofa, turning on the TV to watch whatever was on.

Claire Sinclair toyed with his beautiful fingers and asked, ”Adrian, do you hope the baby is a boy or a girl?”

”A girl.”

”Why?”

”I’d be more jealous of a boy.”

Claire Sinclair said irritably, ”I have a feeling that if I’m having a boy, you might not be very nice to him!”

”Mm,” the man admitted freely.

Claire Sinclair grew anxious. ”You wouldn’t really be mean to our son, would you?”

”I’d probably throw him into a training camp...”

”I don’t even want to talk to you anymore...” Claire Sinclair shook off his hand and climbed into bed, ready to sleep.

Adrian Quincy followed her, lying down and holding her so she couldn’t escape. ”I was just kidding. How could I have the heart to mistreat our child?”

”Don’t make that kind of joke ever again!”

”Okay.”

”I’m going to sleep. I’m tired.”

”Good night.”

Adrian Quincy closed his eyes, feeling a slight sense of disappointment.

’Sure enough. Now that Claire’s pregnant, her love for me is divided.’

He didn’t deny it; he was jealous. And this feeling, which was starting right now, would likely persist for a long time.

The next day, the men Adrian Quincy had dispatched brought back some very important intelligence.

There were a total of five private hospitals and clients supplying the Miracle Health Clinic with human remains and the internal organs of dead poultry to be used as medicinal primers. The profits both sides reaped were unimaginable. Moreover, one of the private hospitals had been collaborating with the Miracle Health Clinic for five years.

In addition, the undercover agent had also dug up a five-year-old murder case.

Five years ago, Cyrus Marshall’s wife had lost an infant who was less than two months old. During that same period, five infants had died mysteriously at that private hospital. The hospital’s uniform explanation was that they had been infected with an unknown virus, but not a single parent could accept this.

But strangely, after about half a month of protests, all five families suddenly went quiet.

The undercover agent was still inside the hospital, continuing to probe its darker secrets.

Because these matters were extremely complex and involved too many criminal enterprises, a thorough investigation would take time. To avoid tipping them off, Adrian Quincy put on a show of doing nothing every day. He simply accompanied his wife, going out to have fun, flaunting their affection everywhere and enjoying themselves immensely.

As for the Miracle Health Clinic, seeing that Claire Sinclair was staying, they sent people over almost every day to discuss an advertising partnership, but each time, they were sent away by Adrian Quincy’s men.

The uniform reason: ”The Young Madam is unavailable.”

Four or five days passed like this. The truth behind many things had begun to surface, and it was almost time to close the net.

Claire Sinclair and Theo Rhodes started writing the article together, combining their perspectives and complementing each other’s strengths. It took them nearly twenty thousand words to complete the full summary of the massive case.

However, this was just a preliminary compilation of materials; it couldn’t be used as a news report yet.

To turn it into a news report, it was still missing a few things. It needed more precise data and interviews from multiple sources to be complete.

Claire Sinclair assigned tasks to both herself and Theo Rhodes. Theo was responsible for interviewing Joan Jacobs, while Claire would interview Cyrus Marshall.

This was because the true mastermind behind the Miracle Health Clinic was Cyrus Marshall himself. Although Joan Jacobs was an accomplice, she was completely unaware of the criminal network behind it all.

Meanwhile, Quincy Manor’s authorization had finally been issued. They were about to take appropriate action against the problematic hospital and the related enterprises and individuals.
