I Married the President

Chapter 572: Chapter 572: The Smartest Woman in the World

Theo Rhodes wasn’t trying to argue with her, so he insisted, ”While what you’re saying makes sense, Master, I feel like I have to get involved. My conscience won’t be clear otherwise.”

Claire Sinclair said, ”We definitely have to get involved, but we can’t interfere in their family life. That’s the one condition.”

Theo Rhodes shot back, ”Then how are we supposed to tell her about her husband’s affair without interfering in their family life?”

Claire Sinclair narrowed her eyes, a deep, unfathomable chill within them, and said in a low voice, ”What if we make Cyrus Marshall confess himself?”

Theo Rhodes was taken aback. He immediately asked, ”Master, what do you have in mind?”

A cold smile touched Claire Sinclair’s lips as her long, slender fingers flew across the keyboard...

Theo Rhodes watched from the side, his eyes widening in amazement. Finally, he couldn’t help but praise her, ”Brilliant! Master, that’s absolutely brilliant! Haha... Master, you’re the smartest woman in the world!”

Claire Sinclair leisurely pulled back her hands, glanced at the time, and turned to him. ”You can call him back now.”

Theo Rhodes nodded. ”What should I tell him?”

”Just tell him I’ve submitted it to headquarters and we’re waiting on approval.”

”Okay.” Theo Rhodes picked up his phone and called Cyrus Marshall. ”Director Marshall, apologies for the delay. I just asked my master, and she said she’s already submitted the matter to headquarters. It’s going through the proper channels now. Once it’s approved, a formal contract will be issued. As for the specific details, we’ll have to wait until it’s approved to discuss things further.”

Cyrus Marshall’s face lit up. ”That’s wonderful! Thank you and Reporter Sinclair so much! I’m sorry to have troubled you both. Thank you, thank you!”

A look of disgust crossed Theo’s face. He waited for him to finish before saying, ”You’re too kind, Director Marshall. I’ll call you the moment we get an update, so please make sure your phone is on.”

”Yes, yes, of course! Absolutely. Thank you, Assistant Rhodes!”

”Alright, if that’s everything, I’ll let you go. I’ll let you get back to it, Director Marshall.” Fighting his disgust, Theo finished the exchange of pleasantries and hastily hung up the phone.

Outside the room, Cyrus Marshall hung up, looking as if a great weight had been lifted from his shoulders. He turned to Landon Winston, who was standing guard at the door, and said excitedly, ”That Star Reporter Sinclair is a really great person, ha. Thanks so much, all of you. Well, I’ll be heading off now.”

With that, he turned and left.

Landon Winston watched him go, his eyes gradually filling with contempt.

Cyrus Marshall hadn’t even left the hotel before he was eagerly opening WeChat to share the good news with Joan Jacobs.

Cyrus Marshall: My dearest Joan, Reporter Sinclair has already submitted the proposal. It’s in the pipeline now. Looks like they’re not here to stir up trouble after all.

Joan: ?

Cyrus Marshall: Haha... I’ll tell you more when I get back. Tidy up the room and wait for me.

After sending the message, Cyrus Marshall didn’t wait for Joan’s reply. He locked his phone, put it back in his pocket, and pulled out a second one to message Fifi.

Cyrus Marshall: Fifi, are you out of class yet?

After a moment, the contact saved as ”Fifi” replied with a ”?”.

Unable to contain his joy, Cyrus sent another message: I just landed a huge deal and I’m in a great mood. You want some money? If you do, come over right now. I’ll be waiting at the usual spot.

After a long pause, Fifi replied: Which usual spot?

Cyrus Marshall: Fifi, baby, how many ’usual spots’ do we have? Come on over. I’ll give you 100,000 to sleep with me once.

Fifi: If you don’t tell me, I’m not coming.

Cyrus Marshall: Fifi, my dear, what’s gotten into you? Are you in a bad mood?

Fifi: I am.
