I Married the President

Chapter 558: Chapter 558: Two Missions?

”Claire, I’ve made breakfast. Make sure you eat before you go. —Adrian”

’That guy... How could that last word be so damn charming!!!’

She had never called him by his first name alone. Just saying it out loud made her blush and her heart race.

Thank goodness he wasn’t here, or she would have definitely gotten all flustered in front of him.

’Sigh...’

Claire Sinclair sighed, a pang of sadness in her heart. His handwriting was usually so neat and beautiful, like something out of a calligraphy copybook. But the writing on this sticky note was scrawled and messy. She figured he must have left in a great hurry; otherwise, he wouldn’t have even finished writing his name.

She couldn’t help but pick up her phone and send him a message: Adrian, where are you going so early in the morning?

After waiting for a long time, she finally got a reply: Young Madam, Young Master Quincy is currently unable to use his phone.

’It wasn’t him who replied...’

Claire Sinclair just said, ”Oh,” and didn’t press further. She quickly changed her clothes; she had to get to the airport soon.

When she arrived at the airport, Theo Rhodes was already waiting for her, holding a massive suitcase that looked very heavy.

Claire Sinclair walked up to him and raised an eyebrow. ”Are you moving?”

Theo Rhodes scratched his head, embarrassed. ”Professor Sinclair, I’ve got clothes, instant noodles, a first-aid kit, and vitamins in here. I’m worried I won’t be able to adjust to the new environment in City E.”

Claire Sinclair shot him a look. ”We’re going on a business trip, not a vacation. Next time you travel, remember to pack light. If we run into danger, we can’t even grab our luggage. Saving our own skin is what matters.”

Theo Rhodes exclaimed, ”Ah? Professor Sinclair, is it that serious?”

Claire Sinclair nodded. ”We have two objectives for this trip. I’ll tell you my plan once we get there.”

”Two objectives? That sounds exciting!” Theo Rhodes balled his hands into fists, his excitement palpable.

Claire Sinclair said irritably, ”The informant who gave Teacher Hartwell the tip has already disappeared. So don’t get any funny ideas. We should be thinking about how we’re going to complete this mission and stay alive.”

Theo Rhodes froze for a moment, finally realizing the danger of their mission. But when he saw the plainclothes bodyguards following behind Claire Sinclair, his courage returned.

”Professor Sinclair, we have backup. Nothing to be afraid of.”

Claire Sinclair glanced at him but didn’t say anything, walking past him toward the security checkpoint.

After a flight of nearly four hours, the plane finally landed in City E.

City E was surrounded by the sea on three sides and had a very hot climate. The island was famous for producing all kinds of fruit, but it was best known for its watermelons.

The moment Claire Sinclair stepped out of the airport, a wave of fiery heat washed over her, as if she had just walked into a giant open-air oven.

Theo Rhodes loosened his collar, a look of annoyance on his face. ”Professor Sinclair, I forgot to bring sunscreen. Did you bring any?”

Claire Sinclair frowned. ”I never use that stuff.”

The words had barely left her mouth when she overheard two women talking: ”Hahaha... I told you to put on sunscreen! Look at me, I got a little darker, but it’s not too bad. You’re almost as black as a chalkboard.”

”Ugh, it’s so hard to get fair skin back. Are there any face masks that can fix this?”

”Isn’t it even uglier if your face is pale but your neck is dark? And don’t forget your panda hands...”

Hearing this, Claire Sinclair immediately changed her tune. ”There’s a duty-free shop in the airport. Let’s go buy some sunscreen first. Which brand is good?”

Theo Rhodes immediately said, ”Professor Sinclair, leave it to me. I know all about this.”

”Alright, you go. I’ll wait here. Get me a bottle for women while you’re at it. I’ll pay you back later. By the way, do you have money?”

”Yes, yes, of course! I’m a rich kid, you know.” As he spoke, Theo Rhodes excitedly ran back into the airport.
