I Married the President

Chapter 568: Chapter 568: A Sly Rabbit Has Three Burrows

Before Claire Sinclair could speak, Theo Rhodes impatiently cut in, ”President Marshall, enough with the nonsense. Just take us there. We’re in a hurry.”

”Alright, alright, let’s head out now. Follow me.” As he spoke, Director Marshall’s eyes remained fixed on Claire Sinclair, never once glancing at Theo Rhodes. He was terrified that angering her would make this deal fall through.

Naturally, Claire Sinclair wouldn’t give a man like him the time of day. She maintained a stern expression the entire time, only dropping the cold mask once she was back in her car.

Theo Rhodes said eagerly, ”Master, you were so cool just now! That Marshall guy was trying to suck up to you, and you completely ignored him. HAHAHA...”

Claire Sinclair shot him a look. ”I just don’t like talking to people like that.”

Theo Rhodes said, ”I don’t like talking to hypocritical scoundrels like him either. We news people keep it real.”

Claire Sinclair stared at him. ”You’re a judo champion. Why did you become a reporter?”

”While the path of martial arts can defend our nation’s borders, I prefer the path of the pen, because it can awaken millions of people. I want to be a guide, leading the charge of public opinion. What about you, Master?”

”Me?” Claire Sinclair paused before explaining, ”I want to become a sharp blade, to strike back at the societal cancers I lack the power to eliminate on my own.”

”That’s pretty similar to me, then.”

”Perhaps,” Claire Sinclair said.

’I used to want to be a reporter so I could be as capable as my older sister. But now, I just want to be his sharpest sword, to clear the thorns from his path and purge all the corruption from this land.’

’The road ahead is still long. I have to keep working hard...’

The two made awkward small talk for a while before Landon Winston suddenly interrupted, ”Young Madam, this isn’t the route to Xenogen Biopharmaceuticals.”

His reminder made Claire Sinclair realize something was amiss. She frowned. ”Don’t tell me Miracle Health Clinic has more than one factory?”

Theo Rhodes said, ”They wouldn’t dare to screw us over so openly, would they?”

Claire Sinclair shook her head. ”A businessman blinded by profit like him wouldn’t directly antagonize the media. Besides, our purpose here isn’t to cause trouble. Nine times out of ten, there are two factories.”

”A crafty rabbit has three burrows. These people are clever,” Theo Rhodes said with a frown.

Silence fell over them.

About ten minutes later, Claire Sinclair’s theory was confirmed. Miracle Health Clinic did indeed have two factories: one was Xenogen Biopharmaceuticals, the one mentioned by the whistleblower, and the other was Miracle Pharmaceuticals Factory, where they had just arrived.

Since Cyrus Marshall dared to bring reporters for a tour, there was clearly nothing wrong with this factory on the surface. While Claire Sinclair’s visit seemed fruitless, she had actually obtained a crucial piece of intelligence.

However, merely knowing that Miracle Health Clinic had two factories wasn’t enough. She had to figure out the connection between Xenogen Biopharmaceuticals and Miracle Health Clinic, as well as uncover Xenogen’s secrets.

Upon returning home that day, Claire Sinclair immediately called Theo Rhodes into her room. She also had two bodyguards come in. In front of all of them, she opened her computer and attempted to hack into Xenogen Biopharmaceuticals’ internal system, but there was no system to access.

Aside from a company profile on a business directory, there was no other useful information. The factory didn’t even have an official website, and a search for its legal representative only turned up a person with the surname Jia.

The setup was like a small, local workshop that only conducted offline business, with no online presence whatsoever.

In other words, the factory was still using a traditional business model and hadn’t adopted any online marketing. Otherwise, it wouldn’t be missing an official website, an e-commerce store, or even a social media presence.

Left with no other choice, Claire Sinclair could only turn to her Mr. Quincy for help.
