I Married the President

Chapter 592: Chapter 592: This Gold-Digging Woman Took the Bait Again

Theo Rhodes ”secretly” asked Joan Jacobs to meet him at a coffee shop he had arranged beforehand, specifically booking a private room.

After they sat down, Theo Rhodes excitedly grabbed her hand.

”Joan, I know I can’t remember what happened that night, but I can’t stop thinking about you. You’re so beautiful. I can’t forget your eyes or your smile. Whenever I close my eyes, you’re all I see.”

Joan Jacobs tried to pull her hand back, but the young man only gripped it tighter. Her resolve wavered. ”You... you’ve fallen for me?”

”Joan, I really can’t get you out of my head.” Theo Rhodes’s eyes were filled with sincerity.

Joan Jacobs sighed. ”So what if you can’t forget me? You don’t actually care about me.”

Theo Rhodes said, ”I’m rich. Break up with your boyfriend and be with me.”

Joan Jacobs had heard his ”drunken confession” before, so she didn’t press him further. Instead, she just asked, ”It’s been a while. How is your mentor’s collaboration with the RT brand coming along?”

Theo Rhodes scoffed, his tone smug. ”Another colleague of mine snatched it away. Hmph, serves her right!”

”That’s wonderful!” Joan Jacobs exclaimed, pleasantly surprised.

Theo Rhodes lamented, ”But even so, I can’t be happy. I’ve been at the Astoria Daily for so long, and I still haven’t been able to write a single major story.”

Joan Jacobs stole a glance at him. Seeing his dejected expression, she felt a pang of pity and said, ”I have a huge scoop, but I don’t dare tell you.”

”Why not?” Theo Rhodes retorted.

”Because it has to do with me. I’m afraid if I tell you, you won’t want me anymore. I’ll be left with nothing.”

Theo Rhodes pulled a bank card from his pocket. ”This is one of the gold cards my dad gave me. It gets a fixed one million in allowance deposited every month. The PIN is 124520. Now you have me.”

Joan Jacobs excitedly took the bank card. When she heard him give her the PIN, she stopped doubting him. Still, it felt a little surreal. ”You’re really willing to let me spend your allowance?”

”If you don’t believe me, you can go buy a sports car right now. There’s still six million on this card, which is enough for you to buy a pretty standard one.”

’A six-million-dollar sports car is still considered standard???’

In that moment, Joan Jacobs thought that the wealthy heirs of Aethelgard truly were incredibly generous. The three cars Cyrus Marshall had bought her only added up to six million in total.

With that thought, Joan Jacobs cast aside all her reservations. She lowered her voice and said, ”Alright, I believe you. Now listen closely. Here’s your scoop...”

A cunning, almost imperceptible smile flashed in Theo Rhodes’s eyes. ’This gold-digging woman... she’s taken the bait again.’

Meanwhile, Claire Sinclair arranged to meet with Cyrus Marshall. She told him she wanted to visit the Miracle Health Clinic for a tour and a brief interview, and to take some photos to submit to her higher-ups for final review.

Suspecting nothing, Cyrus Marshall agreed.

But when he saw Adrian Quincy accompanying her, he could hardly contain his excitement.

’This is the perfect opportunity. I have to get on Young Master Quincy’s good side!’

Upon arriving at the Miracle Health Clinic that day, Claire Sinclair used the interview to wheedle a great deal of important information out of Cyrus Marshall—things like their profit model, internal organizational structure, and so on. She secretly recorded it all on the smartwatch she wore on her wrist.

As the interview was wrapping up, Claire Sinclair suggested taking a look around the clinic. When they reached an examination room, they saw the clinic’s star physician—a long-bearded man who called himself Doctor Holloway—in the middle of examining a sallow, emaciated woman.

Seeing this, Claire Sinclair immediately began recording a video with her DSLR camera.
