I Married the President

Chapter 576: Chapter 576: A Woman’s Intuition Is Mostly Accurate

Before long, Claire Sinclair traced the vehicle’s route using footage from several traffic surveillance cameras—

The vehicle had been parked on a service road outside a private hospital all night. Around noon, it drove onto the hospital grounds and stopped beneath the morgue building for seven or eight minutes. Several filthy barrels were loaded onto it before it finally drove away.

Seeing this, Theo Rhodes asked with confusion, ”Master, what do you think is in those barrels?”

”Who knows.” Claire Sinclair couldn’t be bothered to guess. ”Winston, once we get to Hot Springs Mountain, have someone stake out the entrance to Xenogen Pharmacy. Record every vehicle that goes in and out. I’m going to check them one by one.”

”Yes!” Landon Winston responded.

Claire Sinclair fell silent for a moment, then typed the private hospital’s name into her computer. Her search pulled up plenty of sponsored articles, but even more negative press.

For example, there were cases of pregnant women giving birth there, only for their babies to die inexplicably the next day—and there was more than one such case. Yet, for such a major story, there was barely a ripple of public attention, which could only mean it had been suppressed by a PR team.

The hospital also had a history of frequent medical disputes, but they all ultimately fizzled out for unknown reasons.

’Looks like this hospital has some serious problems.’

Claire Sinclair picked up her phone and sent a message to her Mr. Quincy: Mr. Quincy, I need to borrow some of your people.

Adrian Quincy: Mm.

Claire S.: I suspect there are major problems at St. Nina’s Hospital, but I have no proof. I want to borrow a few people from you who specialize in undercover work. I might have to investigate other places, and I’m too short-staffed unless I use all my bodyguards.

Adrian Quincy: Mm, they’re yours.

Claire Sinclair raised an eyebrow as she typed her reply: Isn’t this an abuse of power on your part?

Adrian Quincy: The matter you need help with falls under the jurisdiction of Quincy Manor. Your request is essentially a tip-off. There is nothing improper about me dispatching people to investigate.

Claire S.: ...

Claire Sinclair found she had no rebuttal.

Adrian Quincy: City E has some major problems of its own. I might come find you in a few days.

Claire S.: Okay! Please come soon, I miss you so much!

Adrian Quincy: I’ll head over as soon as I’m done with my work here.

Claire S.: Then hurry! Otherwise, I’ll finish up here and have to head back. Don’t show up after I’ve already left.

Adrian Quincy: Claire, I love you.

Claire S.: ...

’A sudden confession out of nowhere... was that really okay?’

Claire Sinclair put down her phone, her mood suddenly bright and cheerful.

An hour later, the group arrived at Hot Springs Mountain.

Upon entering their reserved rooms, Landon Winston first swept every corner of both rooms for hidden cameras. Only after finding none did he let everyone settle in.

Claire Sinclair put her luggage away before lying down. Then, she picked up her phone to message Mr. Quincy.

Claire S.: We’re at Hot Springs Mountain. Going for a dip in the springs tonight.

Adrian Quincy: Not allowed.

Claire Sinclair raised an eyebrow and messaged him: And why not?

Adrian Quincy: I refuse to let others see you in revealing clothing. Not even other women.

Claire Sinclair replied irritably: You have to wear a swimsuit for the hot springs. Besides, it’s scorching hot here. I can’t just hide in my room and soak in the tub, can I?

Adrian Quincy: You absolutely have to go?

Claire S.: Yes.

Adrian Quincy: Fine. I’ll arrange it for you.

And then, silence.

A sudden, ominous feeling washed over Claire Sinclair. She just knew something was about to happen.

As it turned out, a woman’s intuition is usually right.

That night, the entire women’s section of the hot springs was cleared out. Other than the female lifeguards on duty, no one else was permitted to enter.
