Ghost Catching System

This old man looked sick and feeble, and Chu Hao really didn’t want to deal with him. What if he’s faking an injury? Brother Hao would still have to take care of him, right?

”What!” The old man’s eyes widened as he heard this.

Glaring angrily, the old man said, ”You’re lying to me! Mr. Ouyang hasn’t appeared for a long time. How could he possibly show up here?” He genuinely didn’t believe Chu Hao.

Just as Chu Hao was about to speak, the old man threw a clay pot, which exploded upon impact with the ground. Immediately, something the size of a palm rushed towards him, exuding a ghostly aura.

Chu Hao raised his hand and snatched it from the air. It was a palm-sized Ghost Baby, pitch-black all over, with a fierce face, baring its fangs and letting out a HISS. The strength of this Ghost Baby was at a high level among Evil Ghosts, almost equal to the Faceless Ghost that Ouyang Zhen used to nurture.

Chu Hao sneered coldly. ”Trying to ambush this Taoist Master? You didn’t even check who I am.” With that said, he tossed the Ghost Baby to the ground and crushed it underfoot like a balloon, splattering black filth everywhere.

”Ding! You’ve killed a Ghost Baby and gained 10,000 Experience Points.”

The old man’s face turned sour. He took out several more clay pots from his backpack, yelling, ”Come out, all of you!” Five or six pots, all sealing Ghost Babies. The Ghost Dao Sect was extremely cruel; such an Evil Technique was a menace to all living beings.

After throwing the pots, the old man knew he was likely no match for Chu Hao. From his backpack, he took out a tube with a firework-like arrowhead on it. Reciting a spell, the arrowhead shot into the sky with a PUFF, and a red light exploded above.

”A flare goes soaring high, summoning thousands of troops to meet.”

This old man is indeed treacherous, Chu Hao thought. An ambush was bad enough, but he hasn’t even started fighting and he’s already calling for backup.

With a face full of ecstasy, the old man said, ”Chu Hao, you can’t escape! The True Word Brush belongs to our Ghost Dao Sect!”

Chu Hao looked at him as if he were an idiot and said, ”Sorry, but before that, this Taoist Master will take care of you first.”

Hearing this, the old man turned on his heels and ran with astonishing nimbleness. He was nothing like the sickly old man he appeared to be; Chu Hao had almost been deceived by his facade.

Chu Hao was somewhat dumbfounded. He picked up a nearby brick and threw it.

”OUCH!” The old man was hit squarely, clutching his head in pain as he squatted on the ground.

”HISS!” Four or five Ghost Babies, showing no fear, rushed forward; they had already been refined into wicked beings.

Chu Hao drew his Yin Yang Sword, felling one with each strike.

”Ding! You’ve killed a Ghost Baby and gained 10,000 Experience Points.”

”Ding! You’ve killed a Ghost Baby and gained 10,000 Experience Points.”

”Ding! You’ve killed a Ghost Baby and gained 10,000 Experience Points.”

Chu Hao walked leisurely over to the old man. Looking at his pained expression, he sighed. ”At your age, still out harming others. Has your life been worth it?”

The old man was in agony and burst into tears. ”You... what do you know? My granddaughter was captured by the Ghost Dao Sect! If I don’t do as they say, she will die!”

Chu Hao narrowed his eyes. ”Is that so?”

Sitting on the ground in despair, the old man said, ”Young man, I know you’re a good person. You should leave. If you don’t, it won’t just be people from the Ghost Dao Sect who come, but also those Evil Spirits and Demons. Let’s just pretend I didn’t recognize you.”

Chu Hao said coldly, ”Am I supposed to be afraid of them? This Taoist Master isn’t going anywhere; I’ll just wait for them to come. Don’t worry, I will rescue your granddaughter. What is the Ghost Dao Sect to me? I could wipe them out in minutes.”

”By the way... what does your granddaughter look like?”

”Ding! Host has successfully shown off, gaining 300 Pretentiousness Points.”

The old man was instantly stunned, tears streaming down his face. These weren’t tears of gratitude; he was scared to tears. Everything he had just said was a lie. His granddaughter hadn’t actually been abducted by the Ghost Dao Sect; he’d made it all up to gain Chu Hao’s sympathy and buy some time.

But damn it, this kid isn’t afraid of the Ghost Dao Sect at all and even offered to help rescue my granddaughter! Kid, you’re too straightforward! This old man is terrified!

Chu Hao said to Li Yin, ”You go first. It might not be safe here in a while.”

Li Yin nodded, kicked Wang Qi, and said, ”Let’s go, my ’Brother Qi in society.’ Are you planning to wait here and die?”

Wang Qi was terribly frightened and cried, ”Brother Hao, Big Brother Hao, I... I’ll go out and wait for you. You must save me, okay?”

Chu Hao waved his hand. ”We’re all classmates. I can save you, but tell your dad to prepare a hundred million to come find me.”

Wang Qi was speechless.

After the two left, Chu Hao waited there, while the old man was on the verge of tears.

「A few minutes passed.」

Indeed, a sinister, chilly air began to fill the small space. Chu Hao turned his head to see a pair of green eyes, like a serpent’s pupils, staring at him. A powerful Monster Qi began to spread.

From another direction, five people emerged. They wore Ghost Masks and carried large and small bags; they were clearly from the Ghost Dao Sect.

Beyond that, there was also a terrifying, ghostly yin aura. A two-meter-tall man walked out, his expression dull and emanating Ghost Qi; he was obviously possessed by something.

Chu Hao glanced over and sneered, ”Is that all you brought? Hardly enough for this Taoist Master to pick his teeth with.”

Chu Hao’s arrogance angered both the people from the Ghost Dao Sect and the Evil Spirits and Demons.

”Kid, where is the True Word Brush? Hand it over, and we’ll spare your life,” someone from the Ghost Dao Sect demanded.

The Ghost Dao Sect was, indeed, very arrogant.

At that moment, a cold snort sounded, and three young people walked out—two men and one woman. The woman was beautiful, rating about an eight out of ten. The men were more ordinary-looking but exuded an air of righteousness and were rich in Yang Qi.

The leading man, who had a crew cut, snorted coldly. ”Ghost Dao Sect, you want the True Word Brush too? Where do you place our Dragon Tiger Sect?”

The people from the Ghost Dao Sect were startled. Are these three young people disciples of the Dragon Tiger Sect?

The Dragon Tiger Sect had a long history. It was a branch of the Taoist sects and was well-known throughout Huaxia. Any Disciple emerging from their sect possessed an extremely strong ability to vanquish Demons and exorcise evil spirits. Very few sects could stand shoulder to shoulder with them.

”You Evil Spirits and Demons think you can covet the True Word Brush? Did you ask for permission from us at Mao Mountain’s Taoism?”

Following closely, a middle-aged man and a young Taoist appeared. The middle-aged man was Uncle Yan, and the young Taoist was none other than Ze Ming. Ze Ming still had bandages wrapped around his head and was staring angrily at Chu Hao.

In the shadows, those serpent-like eyes emitted a snake-like sound, filled with hatred. ”Mao Mountain Disciple.”

Demons, Evil Spirits and Demons, and the renowned righteous sects—they had all arrived.

Chu Hao was also speechless that such a crowd of people and Ghosts had appeared. Apart from those he could see, he sensed many other presences hidden nearby—no small number of either humans or Ghosts.

A Dragon Tiger Sect Disciple laughed. ”Young brother, don’t be afraid. We from the Dragon Tiger Sect won’t harm you. Please return the True Word Brush to us, and we will ensure your safety.”

Uncle Yan from Mao Mountain scoffed, ”A few juniors! Do you think Mao Mountain doesn’t exist? Mao Mountain is the foremost sect in Taoism! The True Word Brush should be returned to Mao Mountain.”
