Ghost Catching System

Chu Hao didn’t even glance at the Shamate punks. It was Li Yin who smiled and said, ”Well, well, if it isn’t our ’Brother Qi in society.’ Given up on studying to mix with the gangs now, have we?”

An older Shamate, his hair dyed a myriad of colors, shouted angrily, ”You little bastard! How dare you talk to my Brother Qi like that?”

This guy is old enough to be Wang Qi’s father, yet he’s calling him ’Brother Qi’!

Wang Qi was pleased. He had specifically hired these Shamates, paying them to put on a show. He waved his hand with the air of a gangster and said, ”Be a bit gentler with them. After all, we were schoolmates. It’s not too late to beat them up when the duel begins.” The older Shamate then backed off.

However, Chu Hao seemed thoughtful. He looked at the Shamates and said with a grand gesture, ”You lot, how much did Wang Qi pay you? Brother Hao will give you five times that amount if you help me beat someone up later.”

”DING... Host has successfully shown off, earning 300 Pretentiousness Points.”

Wang Qi scorned Chu Hao. Does this kid have a problem with his brain, trying to steal my men?

To his surprise, the older Shamate, upon hearing Chu Hao’s offer, excitedly said, ”Boss, I’m fully booked tonight. How about tomorrow?”

Wang Qi was speechless.

What the hell!

He was so mad he was practically breathing fire. With a swift slap, he cursed, ”Son of a bitch! You’re my underling now, got it?”

The Shamate, stunned by the slap, shouted angrily, ”You dare hit me? Brothers, take him down!”

Wang Qi panicked and couldn’t help but step back. ”What... what are you doing? I’m the boss who pays you! AH AH AH... Not the face!”

Wang Qi received a brutal beating from the group of Shamates. This scene left Chu Hao and Li Yin utterly speechless.

Wang Qi was beaten to a pulp, curling into a ball while clutching his head. The older Shamate spat, ”PTUI! What a piece of trash! Think you’re something special just because you have money?”

Suddenly, the Shamate found he couldn’t speak. Wang Qi leaped up, slammed his hand on the Shamate’s crown, and began chanting an incantation. The Shamate immediately felt an excruciating headache, as if his head was about to explode, and let out a piercing scream. Numerous Inscriptions appeared on Wang Qi’s right arm, emitting a fluorescent glow in the dark. Faintly, the excited shriek of an Evil Ghost could be heard, an extremely eerie sound. The other thugs’ eyes widened in terror; shivering, they turned and fled.

”THUD.”

The older Shamate collapsed, unconscious. He likely wasn’t dead, but his brain was probably damaged.

Wang Qi, his face bruised and swollen, was furious. The fight with his real enemy hadn’t even begun, and he’d already been thrashed by his own hired help. It was utterly embarrassing. He kicked the downed Shamate, cursing, ”Son of a bitch, how dare you hit me!”

Li Yin was also startled. How has Wang Qi become so fierce after just a few days?

Chu Hao looked at Wang Qi’s arm and immediately understood.

So that’s it! An Evil Ghost has been sealed inside Wang Qi’s right arm. It’s this ghost that absorbs Yang Qi upon contact with people. What a load of bull about some Yin-Sucking Technique! This kid has been turned into a vessel for ghost cultivation. A ghost cultivator, as the name suggests, uses a human body to nurture a ghost. As the Evil Ghost grows stronger, the host doesn’t have much longer to live. Wang Qi might look all high and mighty now, but once the Evil Ghost in his right arm fully matures, his soul will be absorbed.

Li Yin asked with a tremor in his voice, ”What... what have you done?”

With a ferocious expression, Wang Qi said, ”Just taught this guy a little lesson, that’s all.”

Chu Hao finally spoke. ”Wang Qi, you really are tired of living, aren’t you? Do you even know what’s on your arm?”

Wang Qi frowned, his voice full of arrogance. ”This is an ability my Master gave me. Chu Hao, are you jealous? Don’t worry. If you follow me, I guarantee you’ll have this ability too.”

Chu Hao looked at him as if he were an idiot. ”Since we’re former classmates, Wang Qi, let Brother Hao give you a warning. Your arm has an Evil Ghost sealed within it. When that Evil Ghost grows strong enough, you’ll probably be devoured by it.”

Wang Qi’s face filled with disdain. This guy is trying to fool me.

Chu Hao was speechless. Is this kid’s IQ zero or what? He raised his hand and activated Wang Qi’s Yin Yang Eye.

”Take a look at your own arm.”

Wang Qi lifted his arm and was instantly scared out of his wits. What had looked like an ordinary arm had turned pitch-black and was now covered with sinister, bulging blood vessels. In the center of his palm, a human head had sprouted, grinning wickedly and letting out a piercing laugh.

”HOLY SHIT!!” Wang Qi was so scared he pissed himself, collapsing heavily onto the ground.

”Who’s in my hand?” Wang Qi shouted in terror.

He cried out, then scrambled over and knelt before Chu Hao with a THUMP, hugging his thighs. ”Brother Hao, save me! We’re classmates, please, save me! I don’t want to die!”

Chu Hao tried to shake his leg free twice but couldn’t dislodge him. ”Brother Qi in society, so now you know fear! Where’s that cocky attitude from earlier?”

”Brother Hao, no! Ancestor Hao! Grandpa Hao! You must save me!” Wang Qi was so terrified he had soiled himself.

Chu Hao’s expression darkened. ”Beat it, kid. Don’t try to claim seniority over me; I don’t have a grandson like you.”

Terrified for his life, Wang Qi revealed the truth. It turned out that after being crippled, he had harbored a deep grudge. One day, in the hospital, he met an old man who immediately saw that Wang Qi was afflicted by a Descend Head Straw Doll curse. The old man cured him, took him as a Disciple, and inscribed those Inscriptions on his arm. Without a doubt, the old man had turned Wang Qi’s body into a vessel for nurturing a Ghost.

Just then, an old man emerged from a dark corner. He was hunched over, his eyes cloudy. He coughed, ”COUGH COUGH... So young, yet so knowledgeable about ghost cultivation. You can even identify a ghost cultivator. You must be Chu Hao, right?”

Chu Hao looked at the old man. ”How do you know who I am?”

The old man felt a surge of joy. It really is Chu Hao himself! He had been at the hospital picking up medicine when he happened to run into Wang Qi. At the time, Wang Qi, who hated Chu Hao to death, was constantly muttering his name, which the old man overheard. The old man had come to Anli City specifically to find Chu Hao and didn’t want to miss this opportunity, so he had Wang Qi arrange a meeting and even healed his injuries.

The old man’s health was clearly failing. He coughed a few more times, then said joyfully, ”Chu Hao, it really is you! I didn’t expect I’d be the first to find you.”

This old man seems determined to capture me, Chu Hao thought. It reminds me of the Flirty Ghost King, who was just as confident before I dealt with him yesterday. He stroked his chin and asked, ”Old man, you’re also here for the True Word Brush, aren’t you? Are you alone?”

”In the Ghost Dao Sect, I alone am sufficient,” the old man declared arrogantly.

Ghost Dao Sect! I recall that Ouyang Zhen, whom I captured, also seemed to be from the Ghost Dao Sect, Chu Hao mused, then asked, ”Ghost Dao Sect, huh? So, you know Ouyang Zhen?”

The old man snorted coldly. ”Mr. Ouyang? His great name is not something you can utter so casually.”

He’s pretty arrogant, Chu Hao thought. I wonder what he’d think if he knew I personally sent Ouyang Zhen to prison.

With his arms crossed, Chu Hao casually replied, ”Sorry, but a while back, an old man named Ouyang Zhen got a beating from me. He’s probably rotting in jail right now. At your age, going to prison would just be a waste of food. You should leave.”

”DING... Host has successfully shown off, earning 300 Pretentiousness Points.”
