Ghost Catching System

Anli City was far from peaceful, with turmoil brewing.

At that moment, the Seventh District was in an uproar; even the headquarters far away in the Capital City were alarmed.

Beneath the Twin Towers in the Seventh District of Anli City, numerous Evil Spirits and Demons had emerged. The headquarters took this very seriously, dispatching many personnel, including five A-Class Exorcists like Chu Feng.

However, everyone felt heavy-hearted. These Evil Spirits and Demons were very powerful, with the yin energy readings soaring to around fifty percent.

Moreover, ghosts appeared in several places, visible only for an instant before vanishing without a trace.

Feng Ju was quite troubled. After their investigation, they knew why these Evil Spirits and Demons had come.

Old Yuan looked at Feng Ju and said, ”Feng Ju, what do we do now?”

Feng Ju replied helplessly, ”We’ll have to wait and see how things unfold.”

At that moment, a tall, burly A-Class Exorcist said, ”We’ve just arrived, and it’s likely that Shi Longyun will be here soon.”

Old Yuan exclaimed in astonishment, ”What... Shi Longyun, the AA-Class Exorcist!?”

The Exorcist nodded.

The Seventh District was invigorated. With only twenty AA-Class Exorcists in all of Huaxia, if Shi Longyun came, these Evil Spirits and Demons would be no cause for concern.

The A-Class Exorcist said, ”However, before that, the headquarters has issued a mission.”

Feng Ju had a bad premonition. ”What mission?”

”The Seventh District of Anli City must secure the True Word Brush and prevent it from falling into the hands of Evil Spirits and Demons, or else... it will bring a huge disaster.”

Everyone in the Seventh District held their breath. The True Word Brush was in Chu Hao’s hands; how were they to take it?

The strength of Chu Hao was something these people of the Seventh District knew all too well.

Especially Old Yuan and his group. If Chu Hao hadn’t intervened, Dong Qi would have killed them long ago. Chu Hao had shown them kindness, so how could they now turn against him?

How could they possibly do that?

The tall A-Class Exorcist said with ease, ”Don’t be so tense. It’s just a kid. We’ve already investigated his strength; at most, he can handle ghostly creatures of the Xuan Sha level.”

You’ve investigated? Are you sure you’ve really looked into it?

In Anli City, within a short span of time, numerous Evil Demons, ghosts, and Evil Spirits and Demons had flooded in, blending into the crowds, undetectable by Humans.

But their goal was unanimous: to seek out Chu Hao.

Practically all capable Evil Demons and ghosts of this circle had already come.

Various branches of Taoism also headed to Anli City in succession, all seeking to investigate the true nature of the True Word Brush.

Now, secret undercurrents flowed throughout Anli City.

「...」

The next day, Chu Hao arrived at school with dark circles under his eyes.

Last night, he had played dress-up with Diao Chan, who wore a uniform. He’d been excited all night and hadn’t slept a wink.

Thinking about it was quite frustrating. Back when he had the ability, he had secretly vowed to charm ten campus beauties. However, while his romantic luck seemed endless, he was still a virgin. What a state of affairs!

Upon arriving at the classroom, classmates greeted him warmly. Chu Hao, however, was listless and lethargic, his mind drifting to images of Diao Chan in a cheongsam, his imagination soaring.

Li Yin saw him and said with a bemused face, ”You’re not suffering from kidney deficiency, are you? I happen to know a remedy. Do you want to try it?”

Chu Hao cursed irritably, ”Go to hell.”

Li Yin chuckled. ”Right, the big star hasn’t been here for days. Ah, I knew it! How could someone like her actually come to our school to attend classes?”

Chu Hao also couldn’t help thinking of Yi Qinglian, wondering how she was doing. Since their last encounter, she had called to reassure him she was safe, but there had been little news since.

Chu Hao took out his phone and sent a message.

King Chubi: ”BEEP BEEP BEEP... Sweetheart, are you there?”

Qing World Lotus: ”Who are you?”

What the heck?! The big star doesn’t recognize me anymore?

King Chubi: ”I’m Chu Hao.”

Qing World Lotus: ”I’m her mother. Don’t send any more messages.”

Chu Hao was baffled. What’s going on? How did Yi Qinglian’s phone end up in her mother’s hands?

After a while, another WeChat message came through from Qing World Lotus: ”Chu Hao, my mommy just had my phone. I’m sorry.”

This time it was indeed Yi Qinglian. ”It’s fine.”

Qing World Lotus: ”Hmm, I’ll be coming to Anli City in a few days. Wait for me.”

King Chubi: ”Alright.”

Knowing that Yi Qinglian was fine and would be back in a few days, Chu Hao put his phone down. The teacher was at the podium, lecturing animatedly, spit flying. The more Chu Hao listened, the sleepier he became, until he finally buried his head in his arms and fell fast asleep.

The teacher didn’t dare to bother him, making the other students envious.

He slept until just before school was about to end.

”Ah-Hao, guess who’s here?” Li Yin nudged Chu Hao.

Chu Hao yawned. He’d slept incredibly well. ”Who’s here?” he asked.

”Look, that kid Wang Qi is back,” Li Yin whispered.

Outside the classroom, someone walked in. Who else could it be but Wang Qi?

The classmates were puzzled. Hadn’t Wang Qi dropped out of school?

What was he doing at school?

In Chu Hao’s eyes, something was off about Wang Qi. He had just been crippled by the cursed scarecrow, so how could he be up and walking so quickly?

Plus, the guy’s complexion looked excellent, his Yang Qi significantly stronger.

Wang Qi strode up to Chu Hao and sneered, ”Chu Hao, bet you didn’t expect this, huh? I, Wang Qi, am back.”

Chu Hao teasingly said, ”My Brother Qi in society, what’s the plan? Oh right, how’s your mom doing in the mental hospital?”

Wang Qi instantly bristled. The last time his mother had tried to avenge him, she had ended up being dragged off to a psychiatric hospital, and he himself had been left half-crippled in a hospital bed.

Wang Qi was furious, but he managed a sinister smile. ”Chu Hao, you just know a few tricks, right? I’d really like to see whether your tricks are more formidable or if my Yin-Sucking Technique is stronger.”

”Yin-Sucking Technique?”

The name was too ridiculous! Why not call it the Star-Sucking Technique?

Seeing Chu Hao’s apparent confusion, Wang Qi gloated, believing he had intimidated the boy. He assumed Chu Hao must have heard of the Yin-Sucking Technique and was now cowering in fear.

”Eight o’clock tonight, at the school’s back gate. Coincidentally, my mentor would like to meet you. If you dare not come, consider yourself dead.”

Chu Hao asked curiously, ”Who’s your mentor?”

Wang Qi bragged, ”I’m afraid mentioning his name will scare you to death! My mentor is a disciple of Heaven Master Tao, known as the Supreme Celestial Master. This is his territory. You’re just a novice dabbling in unorthodox arts. You’d better get lost, and quickly! If you think you can freeload in my mentor’s territory, you won’t make it through the night!”

Someone was actually challenging Brother Hao’s title of Taoist Master, and even calling himself the Supreme Celestial Master? If this wasn’t a provocation, what was?

Chu Hao responded coldly, ”Fine. Tell your worthless Supreme Celestial Master to wash his neck and wait. I’ll slaughter him tonight.”

Wang Qi left.

Li Yin said anxiously from the side, ”Ah-Hao, you’re not really going tonight, are you? Don’t fall for Wang Qi’s trap.”

Chu Hao waved his hand dismissively. ”Who has Brother Hao ever been afraid of? You’re coming with me tonight; you’ll get a piece of Wang Qi too.”

Li Yin rubbed his hands in anticipation. ”You got it!”

That night, Chu Hao and Li Yin arrived at the school’s back gate. Sure enough, Wang Qi was there with a gang of punks in flashy outfits, all of them glaring fiercely at Chu Hao.
