: This is exactly what Honkai: Star Rail is about, leaving foreshadowing in places like this, making people feel the depth of reality.”

: The atmosphere is spot on, the Penacony arc feels way too real!”

: Two seemingly simple animations, who would have thought they contain such profound historical metaphors and real-world parallels!”

: Damn, I have only one thing to say to miHoYo: big guts!”

....

As the audience was shaken, on the screen, Penacony, which had just established its order, had already begun its power struggle, right under the eyes of Hanunue and Mikhail...

------------------------------

After the seven great families of Penacony began to govern together, Penacony experienced a period of stable development.

Memory Matter, a rare and highly valuable item in the world of Honkai: Star Rail, supported the initial funding for Penacony’s development.

Taking advantage of this rare opportunity, Xia Wen used a series of images to showcase the development of the seven great families and Penacony’s territory.

At times, members of the Blackplum Family were seen trading with extraterrestrial visitors.

Other times, members of the Oak family sat around a round table, engaged in heated discussions.

Marigold family members controlled the market, ensuring that resources reached the people at stable prices.

Meanwhile, the Mikhail-led Bloodhound family worked hard to maintain the town’s security.

Farming and development were progressing well.

During this process, many new births occurred in Penacony.

Yet, despite the peaceful scenes in the images, the audience had not forgotten the special endings they had seen in the Dream Past game.

Time quickly passed.

After a period of rapid development, the scene shifted to a special location— a remote area far from Penacony’s main city, so desolate that few people even knew it existed.

This was the headquarters of the Blackplum Family.

Among buildings adorned with the Blackplum Family’s crest, the true ”family members” were busy working.

Due to the arrival of the Stellaron, Penacony’s Memory Matter had become restless, and the dream that had once trapped Hanunue and the prisoners still existed.

One of the Blackplum Family’s most important hidden objectives was to protect Penacony from the invasion of dreams.

They guarded the dreamscape while using their unique conditions to mine Memory Matter and trade it through foreign markets.

...

: The Blackplum Family is truly the ballast of Penacony...

: Earning money through trade while also protecting against the Stellaron disaster...”

: How could such a family be the first to fall?”

: And according to the intel I saw, it seems like they were completely erased?”

: Who could have done this? Didn’t the other families take precautions against such a thing?”

...

The audience immediately recognized the Blackplum Family’s importance, which only deepened their confusion.

Shouldn’t such a family have been the last to perish?

After all, if they lost control, the entire Penacony would fall into catastrophe.

At that moment, the screen zoomed in from a macro perspective to a personal level.

”Is today’s inspection over?”

”It’s done. The defenses remain solid.”

”Good. Go rest. You’ll get your reward after you lie down.”

Two teams of Blackplum Family members exchanged shifts.

However, as the previous guards left, the newly arrived group revealed cruel smiles.

They quickly spread out and mercilessly slaughtered everyone in the control room.

Their skills were formidable, their shields sturdy and deadly.

But how could these outsiders have infiltrated the highly scrutinized Blackplum territory, even managing to impersonate patrol guards?

Realizing the severity of the situation, the audience could hardly believe it.

It meant that this newly established planet already had high-level traitors within its ranks!

After being fully immersed in Penacony’s liberation and development, they now watched in horror as the infiltrators wrought destruction.

That defensive line had taken countless efforts and sacrifices to build!

The Blackplum Family itself numbered only in the thousands, each member an elite whose loss would be a devastating blow to Penacony!

Fortunately, the Blackplum Family was not so easily subdued.

As soon as the control room was seized, others quickly detected the infiltrators’ presence, and alarms blared throughout the protective zone.

Meanwhile, in the room of the Blackplum patriarch—

”What?! The signal won’t go through?!”

”This group came prepared!”

The Blackplum patriarch slammed his fist on the table, gritting his teeth.

”The communication between family heads has also been cut off. We have traitors among us—at least at least one or more family heads!”

”Then... Father, what should we do now?” His daughter, Karina, who had joined the Iris family, asked anxiously.

”...They (Xipe) are with me.”

The Blackplum patriarch patted his daughter’s head, then made a decisive move.

Instead of pursuing the attackers, he led his people to the protective core.

The Blackplum Family was small in number, yet they bore heavy responsibilities, thanks to their shared faith in the Path of Harmony.

They were united as a family and as Pathstriders, their resonance producing a power beyond measure.

Inside the core chamber, the collective strength of every Blackplum member was concentrated here, serving as the primary defense against dream erosion.

”Two key points— The node in the control room is likely already compromised.”

”Chances are, we will soon be dragged into the dreamscape. But no matter what happens, we must not let the dream erosion spread to Penacony!”

The Blackplum patriarch’s voice, infused with Harmony’s power, reached the ears of every family member.

No one objected.

After reinforcing the final protective measures on the core, a sudden wave of energy engulfed the entire defense line.

Everyone fell into deep slumber.

Meanwhile, the infiltrators who had seized the other core node were momentarily caught off guard but then... another group arrived.

This new force was well-prepared, and they had numbers on their side.

Among them were even corporate Memory Matter wielders!

With their abilities, they avoided being pulled into the dreamscape.

Instead, they turned their weapons against the sleeping Blackplum Family members.

A massacre began...

In later records, according to Sunday, this massacre came to be known as the ”White Desert Incident.”
