Caught in Affairs with Superstar

Chapter 1668: Chapter 821: ’Black Forest’ Premieres (7,000 Words)_5

He Yong always talks to her about what’s next.

Or rather, not what’s next, but changing agents right now.

Her contract is with Chengqian. As long as she changes her agent and isn’t managed by Zhou Lan, she’ll have nothing to do with Zhou Yun’s studio.

He Yong generously offered her three performance contracts: a movie and two TV series, all with lead roles, one of which as the first lead. He stated that as long as she was willing to return to Chengqian, these roles would be hers. Wang Jing actually had a lot to say. She wanted to express that she wasn’t lacking lead roles, as Zhou Lan had helped her secure quite a few. Zhou Lan couldn’t possibly lack that capability; it was her own refusal to act because she found the scripts lacking. But she felt it inappropriate to tell He Yong this, as it would make her seem too arrogant, too demanding.

Wang Jing said, ”President He, over the past two years, Sister Lan and Sister Xiao Yun have been devoted to helping me extensively; if I leave now, it would be too disloyal.”

She offered an apologetic smile, ”Truly sorry.”

He Yong felt helpless upon hearing Wang Jing’s refusal.

He couldn’t understand why the actors under Zhou Lan were so immovable, one after another.

After having drinks with Wang Jing and seeing her off to her car, He Yong sighed with some melancholy and also got into his own car.

Just then, Zhang Mo suddenly sent a message: President He, regarding that role you mentioned earlier, I’m not very interested. I just received news that ”Falling Leaves” is aiming for the North American awards season at the end of next year, and I want to reserve my time for ”Falling Leaves.”

He Yong was taken aback at seeing the title ”Falling Leaves.”

Initially, he had signed Zhang Mo because he acted in that film with Zhou Yun, and at that time, Li Ci had a string of troubles. He Yong was ready to give up on Li Ci and needed a new male actor to step up; he saw potential in Zhang Mo and thus signed him.

Who knew that ”Falling Leaves” would be postponed indefinitely, yet Zhang Mo, against all odds, started gaining considerable fame in the industry as he hoped, accumulating audience acclaim over several projects and just at a time when ”acting skills” were regaining attention.

For actors like Zhang Mo, who don’t rely on Chengqian to secure their footing, He Yong maintained a courteous attitude, saying: If you don’t want to take the role, so be it. I’m glad ”Falling Leaves” is finally coming out. It’s great that you want to experience the awards season next year; as long as there’s an opportunity and momentum is on our side, we will fully support you in pursuing awards.

When He Yong said this, he honestly didn’t believe it could ever become a reality.

How many films claim they’re chasing the Oscars or the awards season every year? It’s nonsense. Do you think miracles like ”Behind the Scenes” can be replicated? In the end, didn’t Zhou Yun fail to secure an Oscar nomination for Best Actress?

Zhang Mo’s acting is good, but to speak of an Oscar nomination?

Deep down, He Yong didn’t believe it.

Someone like Zhou Yun, who seems to have luck on her side, only comes around once every ten years if you’re lucky.

...

At this moment, the American series ”Black Forest” aired.

The production team organized a grand launch event in New York, USA, inviting the Chinese actress Jiang Yuzhen, who played a major role, to attend.

Before this, Jiang Yuzhen had only a bit of fame domestically, mostly since appearing in ”Heart Inquiry” with Song Chi, which brought her into the public eye.

Unexpectedly, this no-longer-young actress suddenly experienced breakthroughs in her career.

The premiere of ”Black Forest” broke records, and Jiang Yuzhen’s portrayal of the Mad Witch received significant attention.

Many expressed their fondness for this eccentric witch.

Nowadays, in film and television, the more distinctive a character’s personality, the more likely they are to be liked by the audience.

Zhou Yun watched the first episode of ”Black Forest” with everyone and was astounded by Jiang Yuzhen’s performance.

Jiang Yuzhen almost brought out all her accumulated skills and experience of years of acting in this series, stunning in every appearance, with almost every pore exuding performance.

Whenever Jiang Yuzhen appeared on screen, Zhou Yun would hear others exclaim in amazement.

They finished watching the first episode.

Nakajima Hoto’s eyes sparkled with stars, saying, ”It’s so good!”

Zhou Yun liked it too.

”It’s really well done.”

A fantasy magic-themed story, with both the characters and special effects executed brilliantly.

”I feel like it’s been a long time since I’ve seen such an enthralling magic story,” Zhou Yun said.

”Yes, I feel the same way. It’s really been so long,” Nakajima Hoto nodded, ”When I was a kid, I used to love watching magic stories, but in recent years this genre seemed to be fading.”

”Because there haven’t been particularly good stories emerging,” Hugh Redman said, ”Nowadays, all the fantasy magic stories that could be filmed have already been made.”

”Hugh was once in a magic-themed movie playing a prince,” Chris Pine suddenly mentioned, ”needing to be rescued by a princess who could use magic.”

Hugh Redman laughed.

”Yes, that was not long after I debuted.”

”I think ’Black Forest’ will revitalize this genre of film and television,” Nakajima Hoto said, ”I see people on Twitter are all discussing ’Black Forest,’ it’s quite popular.”

Zhou Yun messaged Jiang Yuzhen: Sister Yuzhen, I just watched ”Black Forest” with some friends from ”Killing Song,” everyone was amazed by your performance, congratulations! The witch you’re portraying this time is incredible!

Jiang Yuzhen replied: Thank you, dear!

Zhou Yun took a group photo of everyone watching ”Black Forest” and posted it to Weibo and Twitter, with the caption consisting of just two words: So good!

She was very happy that Jiang Yuzhen could stand out in such an American series and be recognized by everyone.

The character of the Mad Witch hit Twitter’s trending list just one hour after the premiere, and actress Jiang Yuzhen also gained significant attention.
