Caught in Affairs with Superstar

Chapter 1666: Chapter 821: ”Black Forest” Premieres (7,000 Words)_3

Although they will directly message her on WeChat to request her opinion quickly when there’s something urgent, Zhou Yun still doesn’t want her slow pace to affect their work.

During this check, she saw the revenue generated by other signed artists in the studio.

Zhou Yun has brought in a total revenue of 52.57 million yuan for the studio, which is the income after deducting her share and Chengqian Entertainment’s share.

So high?

This number startled Zhou Yun herself. Because according to the new contract terms, she earns the bulk of her money herself. But upon looking at the detailed statement behind it, she understood that just endorsements and business deals this year alone have directly brought in over 20 million yuan, accounting for half. The rest, including the remaining payment from ”Chen Yin,” full payment of ”Female Assassin,” full payment of ”Killing Song,” have all been credited. ”Age” is directly ignored; it’s too little. Besides this, for her cameo in ”Hidden Mountain Scholar,” the filmmakers also gave her a considerable payment.

Compared to her, Yuk Chu and Wang Jing have significantly less revenue. This is related to their current agency contracts with Chengqian Entertainment, where Chengqian takes half without doing anything, and the studio can only take the other half. This means the studio can only get a quarter of what they earn. This is even after both of them gained popularity, leading the company to sign them with a new profit-sharing agreement—now it’s a 50-50 split with the company, increasing the profit share. Of course, Zhou Lan also mentioned to her that next year, the studio would sign another modified contract with them to increase their profit share. Zhou Yun naturally agrees, whereas Chengqian is a bit unwilling, but their unwillingness can be mostly ignored as it’s not important.

What surprised Zhou Yun greatly was that Zhou Lan previously signed many business representatives like writers, painters, intellectuals from various industries, which unexpectedly brought over 20 million yuan in revenue to the studio, practically an unexpected bonus.

Moreover, the investments in dramas like ”Under the Grand Dress” and ”Deep Sea” by the studio also brought substantial returns, especially ”Deep Sea,” which generated revenue almost equal to what Zhou Yun personally contributed to the studio throughout the year. ℯℯ𝘭.𝘤ℴ𝘮

At this moment, Zhou Yun could directly feel why Yuehai was so eager to ask her to shoot the second movie.

”...”

To be honest, when seeing this number, even Zhou Yun was tempted, considering whether to shoot the second movie.

She quickly patted her face, saying: ”Stay clear-headed.”

Zhou Yun’s wallet is indeed full now; her annual income is already at the top level of domestic artists, possibly even the highest. Of course, this isn’t certain, as people like Song Chi who have their own production companies are in another income bracket.

Besides revenue, there’s another email regarding the studio’s new expansion business for next year.

The studio receives a large number of scripts and project proposals. A few agents and actors cannot keep up, so the studio specifically hired two young women to do initial script screenings for them. Zhou Lan plans to add two more people to this, forming a ”Script Selection Team,” not only to select scripts but also to read books, choose IPs, and acquire good stories.

Zhou Yun saw this and was quite surprised, immediately calling Zhou Lan.

Upon hearing Zhou Yun’s inquiries, Zhou Lan explained: ”Yes, I have this idea. Nowadays, there are various stories on the internet; some are posts, some are novels, and some are just stories, but many of them are very suitable for making genre films. Each film company is collecting and scrambling for such high-story value stories. I think since we already have two people doing this work, why not go ahead and fully venture into this? You see, now our studio’s actors, including yourself, are mostly waiting for others to approach us to make films. Why can’t we tailor a story for our actors and specifically find a good story suitable for them to act in, forming our own lineup?”

Zhou Yun said: ”This is a big move, Sister Lan; you’re planning to develop our studio towards film production.”

”No, no, you’ve misunderstood; I don’t intend for our studio to handle production,” Zhou Lan said. ”Once I’ve found a good story and we have good actors, okay, the next step I’ll look for a production company with funds, seek video platforms, and collaborate with them. I just want to grasp a bit more initiative as for handling production ourselves, I have enough self-awareness; we still don’t have that capability.”
