Caught in Affairs with Superstar

Chapter 1656: Chapter 818: Hostility (4,000 Words)

Wan Lanlan has arrived.

This editor from ”Victor” is already an old acquaintance of Zhou Yun.

They had arranged to shoot a cover for Zhou Yun.

Zhou Yun truly had no time to go back for the shoot, so the magazine team decided to come here for it.

There was no other option; Zhou Yun’s endorser, Jinling Jewelry, spent a hefty sum to buy the cover, and if they didn’t proceed with the shoot, this series of new designs would be out of season.

But since Zhou Yun was filming, there was no other way; the production team had to make do with Zhou Yun’s schedule, shooting only after she finished work.

This time, Wan Lanlan is leading the team.

Wan Lanlan and Zhou Yun embraced excitedly, saying, ”Xiao Yun, long time no see; we finally meet again.”

Zhou Yun asked, ”Sister Lanlan, have you lost a lot of weight?”

Wan Lanlan nodded and said, ”Yes, I’ve worked hard on losing weight for six months; is the result okay?”

”Remarkable,” Zhou Yun praised, ”Fantastic.”

Wan Lanlan: ”Is everything going smoothly with the shoot?”

”Yes, very smoothly,” Zhou Yun said, ”I’m sorry to make you guys travel so far.”

”No problem, we can take this opportunity for a business trip and travel,” Wan Lanlan laughed and said, ”If it wasn’t because I’ve always managed your collaborations here before, someone else would surely have taken this away.”

Hearing this, Zhou Yun couldn’t help but laugh too.

”The climate here is pretty nice, very comfortable. It’s cold back home, isn’t it?”

”Yes, it’s the coldest time right now; if you don’t have the floor heating on, your feet are definitely freezing,” Wan Lanlan said, ”Still, the Southern Hemisphere is more comfortable.”

Wan Lanlan also brought some news.

”I don’t know if you’ve heard, but some people back home think you’ve made a mistake in handling ’Treasure’s’ overseas representation; they say you won’t make the money back,” Wan Lanlan asked, ”Do you know what you’re doing? After you posted that on Weibo, the film’s domestic box office exceeded a million for several consecutive days, reversing the downward trend. But the domestic box office revenue doesn’t concern you, does it?”

Zhou Yun said, ”The domestic revenue doesn’t involve me, but I’m happy to help them. As for making the money back, they’re overthinking it; I never planned to make money from this. I know movies like ’Treasure’ are hard to sell, but some things seem to be only doable by me. So even if it doesn’t make money, that’s okay.”

Wan Lanlan: ”You’re so generous, be careful; you’ll have many films looking for you to take over.”

”I’m not a scapegoat; if they find me, I’ll take them on,” Zhou Yun laughed, ”This time Sister Xiao Yao asked me, so I must help. Besides, I trust Sister Xiao Yao’s judgment, and it’s proven to be a film worth recommending to more people.”

”I watched the film, and to be honest, its strengths and weaknesses are both obvious,” Wan Lanlan said, ”But if you ask me for a conclusive opinion, I wouldn’t recommend others to watch it unless they have some connection to the film industry like me. I would only recommend it because I had a strong impression; given time, the director might become a master someday, though this debut does have too many weaknesses.”

Zhou Yun nodded, ”I know. The director is already re-editing it, and I believe that after experiencing the domestic box office downturn, he’ll fix the film’s obvious flaws. By the way, Sister Lanlan, are you going to the Berlin Film Festival? I’m planning to hold a private screening of the re-edited ’Treasure’ there. If you do go, come and support it.”

Wan Lanlan said, ”That’s not definite; our magazine will send someone for sure, but it might not be me. You know, opportunities like these are fiercely contested.”

Zhou Yun: ”I hope you come.”

”Okay, I’ll try my best,” Wan Lanlan smiled.

Zhou Yun nodded, ”After all, I’m familiar with your interviews.”

Wan Lanlan: ”Are you planning to venture into Behind the Scenes production afterward? I saw you produced another film, called ’Child of Prophecy,’ right?”

”Yes, it’s a director Brother Lew Yuan recommended to me; the script is interesting, it’s a genre film,” Zhou Yun said, ”You should attend the premiere.”
