Caught in Affairs with Superstar

Chapter 1662: Chapter 820: Rival Scene (Second Update)

The next scene is another one featuring Zhou Yun and Lily Cruise.

But this scene isn’t action; it’s a dialogue.

They’ve already shot this scene once, but Tim Lang decided to reshoot it during the review.

He felt the previous version lacked a bit of tension.

Since their last disagreement, Zhou Yun and Lily Cruise hadn’t spoken to each other or filmed a scene together.

Now they’re facing each other again, and Lily Cruise’s expression is very unnatural.

Zhou Yun acts as if she doesn’t notice her, fully focused on what Tim Lang is saying.

Tim Lang shared his thoughts with Zhou Yun and Lily Cruise, emphasizing, ”You did a great job last time, but I want something a bit different this time.”

Zhou Yun and Lily Cruise nodded.

Both took their positions, ready to start acting.

Tim Lang asked, ”Do you want a walkthrough first?”

”Let’s go straight into it,” Zhou Yun said.

Lily Cruise also said, ”Straight into it.”

Both were already in a tense atmosphere with each other, not needing any emotional buildup or immersion.

Tim Lang watched their expressions from behind the monitor, especially their eyes; it was obvious they were in the right state.

He was glad he made this decision. Performing the scene in this state brought a more tense undercurrent than before.

It’s a major production, a genre film, but Tim Lang felt he couldn’t afford to be careless with the performance, turning a blind eye.

He’s a director who loves seeing brilliant performances, and he demands a lot from his actors.

Among the actors, Lew Xi required a bit more of his attention, filming a scene several times; the others were skilled actors who understood direction quickly and knew how to adjust.

Tim Lang was very satisfied with the cast of this film, both well-known and talented.

After Zhou Yun and Lily Cruise finished a scene, Tim Lang pulled them to review it on the monitor.

”Look, Xiao Yun, your eye movement here needs to be more expressive. This isn’t happening in a restaurant or indoor setting; you’re conflicted in a jungle environment, surrounded by nature. Though you can’t see your actual surroundings now, with the effects, you’ll be at a riverbank in the jungle with wind and water sounds; the performance must express more emotion to blend into this environment,” Tim Lang said. ”Lily, your performance is spot-on here, but your body language is stiff. Your expressions above the neck are fine, but below there’s a sense of imbalance, not relaxed—you are angry, your focus should be entirely on the person opposite you. Your energy should be aimed at Zhou Yun, but your limbs suggest you’re still centered on yourself.”

Lily Cruise frowned, ”What do you mean? I didn’t get it.”

Tim Lang said, ”I mean, your body movements now make your anger seem performative—not as wholly lost in it as your expressions.”

Lily Cruise furrowed her brow, not understanding.

Zhou Yun understood what Tim meant.

He’s saying her performance is too polished.

She needs more ”animal instinct.”

Zhou Yun watched her earlier performance with Lily Cruise seriously again, realizing Tim was right.

In isolation, her performance was fine, but within the entire scene and environment, she’d been in a constant survival crisis, with danger lurking around her, never knowing when it would appear, having to stay alert and cautious, and under such circumstances, her anger wasn’t ”out of control” enough.

They did another take, yet Lily Cruise hadn’t corrected her old issue.

There was no choice; Zhou Yun had to keep accompanying her in the scenes.

They filmed until five in the afternoon, and Tim Lang was still not satisfied.

Lily Cruise’s face had fallen.

Finally, Tim Lang sighed and said, ”Let’s call it a day for now, we’ll continue tomorrow.”

Lily Cruise showed an incredulous expression and asked, ”Continue with the same scene tomorrow?”
