Abandoned Woman Busy Farming

Chapter 2488: Chapter 2489: Master Yin Yang Master

Bai Ruozhu finished her tasks, changed her clothes, and strolled around the Palace. The situation with the Second Prince was basically stable, so she couldn’t be idle. She might as well familiarize herself with the Palace and seize the opportunity to gather some information about Diao Bin.

The Fusang Imperial Palace didn’t have many women, so after wandering a bit, Bai Ruozhu decided to visit Empress Shangzi.

Unexpectedly, Empress Shangzi had guests, and just as Bai Ruozhu planned to leave, Empress Shangzi personally greeted her at the door upon hearing the palace maid’s announcement.

”Don’t rush to leave, Bai,” Empress Shangzi said, holding Ruozhu’s hand. ”My visitor is a relative of mine, similar in age to you. You should meet.”

”I hope I am not intruding,” Bai Ruozhu smiled as she saw the girl accompanying Empress Shangzi, a beautiful Fusang girl with charming, curved brows, appearing very cute.

Empress Shangzi quickly introduced, ”This is my niece from a distant marriage, named Miaoluo, eighteen years old. She’ll be living in the Palace soon.”

Bai Ruozhu looked at Miaoluo, ”Oh?”

Wasn’t it said that once Fusang royal women marry outside, they are no longer part of the Imperial family, and their children are unrelated?

”Miaoluo is betrothed to the Crown Prince. She’ll be marrying into the Imperial family soon,” Empress Shangzi said with delight.

”That’s wonderful news. Congratulations to Miss Miaoluo,” Bai Ruozhu realized.

Miaoluo blushed and said coyly, ”Aunt, why do you announce it to everyone you meet?”

Empress Shangzi laughed aloud, inviting the two girls to sit at the table, and had someone pour Bai Ruozhu an additional cup of tea.

”How is the Second Prince?” Empress Shangzi asked.

”Much better. He should be able to walk soon,” Bai Ruozhu replied truthfully.

”That’s good. Poor him, enduring these tribulations for no reason, it’s really not easy,” Empress Shangzi sighed.

Bai Ruozhu chuckled, ”Not entirely without reason, he wants to be the Emperor, doesn’t he?”

Empress Shangzi’s expression subtly changed, while Miaoluo continued to sip her tea, seemingly oblivious.

Bai Ruozhu didn’t have the chance to elaborate but instead chatted with Miaoluo. Despite meeting the girl for the first time, she felt a sense of familiarity, as if they were old friends, which was quite odd.

After finishing their tea, Bai Ruozhu bid farewell and left, only to encounter She Duanyuan, the eldest son of She Zongyi, on the way.

”Oh, Bai?” She Duanyuan exclaimed with surprise. ”Where are you heading?”

Bai Ruozhu didn’t like the She Family, giving him a fleeting glance, ”Why do I need to report my actions to the She Family?”

She Duanyuan looked awkward, his smile fading as he said, ”I didn’t mean it that way. It seems Bai might have some misunderstanding about us. I don’t know what I did to offend, but I’ll be mindful in the future.”

”Aren’t you surnamed She?” Bai Ruozhu said before bypassing him and leaving swiftly.

She Duanyuan hesitated, then realized she expressed her dislike for the She Family. He narrowed his eyes, feeling more determined.

In the evening, Jiang Yichun returned, showing Bai Ruozhu a piece of fabric. ”This should be Lingzi’s dress fabric before she left, right?”

Bai Ruozhu examined it, ”Yes, this fabric is rare in Fusang. It’s the dress I gave her on the boat. So, did you find anything?”

”Found out after Lingzi went missing, she appeared at a manor outside the city but seemed to have evaporated later. The only known contact is with the Jingshang Family. By the way, the Jingshang Family married a former Imperial Princess, the Emperor’s cousin,” Jiang Yichun explained.

Bai Ruozhu’s eyes lit up, ”Isn’t there a daughter from the Jingshang Family who will be marrying the Crown Prince?”

”Correct, have you met her?” Jiang Yichun guessed immediately.

Bai Ruozhu nodded, ”What a coincidence, I met that girl from the Jingshang Family this afternoon, but I didn’t inquire much. I only knew her name is Miaoluo.”

”The Jingshang’s status in Kyoto is significant, and it’s not easy to investigate. I’ll think of a way later,” Jiang Yichun said.

The next day, Jiang Yichun went out, continuing his matters, while Fo Lanying disguised herself as a common Fusang girl and went to the Market with Gao Zhou.

Fo Lanying planned to look around the She Family’s Shop to see if she could encounter She Zongyi. Lately, their Shop had several issues, they don’t believe She Zongyi wouldn’t turn up.

Bai Ruozhu initially wanted to go, but Gao Deng said her eyes were too recognizable for She Zongyi, so it was better not to go. Yuan Licheng had to guard the Great Formation in the yard, leaving Gao Zhou to protect Fo Lanying.

Speaking of which, Gao Zhou had the deepest inner strength in the yard.

Fo Lanying and Gao Zhou wandered a bit before arriving at the Market, disguised as a mute father and daughter. Mute traits seemed hereditary indeed.

Soon, they reached the She Family’s salt Shop. Before entering, they overheard discussions outside, yet the Shop was surprisingly quiet.

Since most Market folk spoke Fusang Language, they couldn’t understand well but vaguely guessed discussions about Demons in the She Family Shop.

Fo Lanying and Gao Zhou entered the shop with many people whispering and pointing, apparently thinking these two were courting danger.

”What can I help the guests with?” the shopkeeper asked enthusiastically. Gao Zhou gestured to his ears, then made a few sounds indicating he was a mute.

The shopkeeper understood, thinking no wonder they dared to enter, they’re deaf, unable to hear the rumors.

Gao Zhou pointed to the salt beside him and gestured how much he wanted, to which the shopkeeper promptly wrapped it up and took some copper coins.

Fo Lanying, using the opportunity, glanced towards the back hall. There were people but seemingly not She Zongyi.

The father and daughter took the salt and headed out, with many dodging them as if they carried a Demon.

Fo Lanying pulled Gao Zhou aside, gesturing towards people nearby to ask what was happening. Gao Zhou pretended not to understand, approached others, causing them to scatter in fright.

The shopkeeper of the She Family’s salt Shop was annoyed, shouting at the escaping people, then told Gao Zhou, ”Don’t mind them, please take care.”

Realizing they couldn’t hear, he sighed.

Feeling they had achieved enough, Gao Zhou signaled Fo Lanying to leave, just as a horse carriage stopped by the door, and someone disembarked—it was She Zongyi!

They exchanged a glance, quietly retreating aside. She Zongyi opened the carriage curtain and said to someone inside, ”Master, I’m grateful for your help.”

A young man got out, dressed in the distinctive garb of a Yin Yang Master, holding a Talisman, radiating mystery, though his face looked too youthful.

”It’s the Master Astrologer! He’s here to exorcise the demon from the She Family shop, isn’t he?” someone exclaimed joyfully.

She Zongyi kept a stern face, proclaiming to the nearby townsfolk, ”The She Family has invited the Master Astrologer for exorcism. Rest assured, the salt Shop will no longer be haunted.”

Gao Zhou looked at the Yin Yang Master, barely holding back from calling out.
