Abandoned Woman Busy Farming

Chapter 2462: Chapter 2463: Protecting Her

The palace maid followed the orders on the spot, and Bai Ruozhu kept watching from the side, only relaxing once she was sure no one had tampered with anything in secret.

New bath soup was brought, and Bai Ruozhu checked it again before letting it be poured in.

Then, Bai Ruozhu added the prepared medicine to the wooden tub, finally turning to Jiang Yichun and saying, ”Achun, I’ll leave the rest to you, add a little and then I’ll step out for a bit.”

”Alright.”

The two had discussed this matter; to avoid someone tampering secretly, it was safer for Jiang Yichun to handle it, obviously, Bai Ruozhu needed to step out first.

The Emperor understood their intention and immediately asked the other palace maids to leave, while he rolled up his sleeves and helped Jiang Yichun place the Second Prince.

Bai Ruozhu wandered outside in the yard; they would stay here for at least a month, she needed to inspect carefully, not missing any small detail.

Suddenly, footsteps sounded from outside the gate, followed by the guard’s voice: ”Empress Yazi, please halt, His Majesty does not allow anyone to enter.”

”Impudent, I heard my son is ill, can’t I even take a look?” Empress Yazi’s voice rang out, somewhat anxious and angry.

The guard still did not allow passage, ”Please forgive me, Your Majesty, I cannot let you pass!”

”I don’t believe a mere guard dares block me.” Empress Yazi exclaimed angrily, attempting to charge inside, but the nearby Princess Ya’an pulled her back, worriedly saying, ”Mother, don’t act rashly, Father has his arrangements. Let’s have someone inform Father and see what he says.”

Empress Yazi calmed down a bit, took a deep breath and said, ”Alright, you go inform His Majesty that I want to see the Second Prince.”

The guard had an official expression, ”His Majesty ordered that no one may disturb until he comes out, please return, Empress and Princess.”

”You...” Empress Yazi was almost shouting in anger, but considering her own status and with Princess Ya’an speaking many soothing words beside her, she did not cause a scene.

Bai Ruozhu silently listened, soon heard Jiang Yichun calling her from inside, and then she returned to the room.

”Your Majesty, Empress Yazi and Princess Ya’an attempted to come in but were stopped by the guard.” Bai Ruozhu reminded the Emperor.

The Emperor shook his head, ”Better not let them in, the less contact apart from you and me, the safer.”

Bai Ruozhu nodded, ”Your Majesty is thoughtful, it’s best this way.”

Following that, Bai Ruozhu applied the needle to the Second Prince, while the Emperor was beside her watching, not intending to supervise Bai Ruozhu, just as a worried father wanting to be by his son’s side.

Outside, Empress Yazi was persuaded by Princess Ya’an and they returned together to Empress Yazi’s palace.

”Ya’an, don’t think your mother is heartless, I have heard some news about your second brother, it seems...” Speaking here, Empress Yazi was choked and couldn’t continue.

Princess Ya’an was shocked, ”What’s wrong with brother?”

She and the Second Prince were of the same mother, so she privately called the Second Prince ”brother.”

”Rumor has it that someone poisoned your brother, and your grandfather’s family has received news, but those Zhongyuan people claim there is still hope, your father is saving your brother according to their method, but...” Empress Yazi started crying.

”But what?” Princess Ya’an was also about to cry in anxiety.

Empress Yazi said with trembling lips, ”Your brother has lost his Qi!”

Princess Ya’an’s legs went weak, she fell to the ground, murmuring, ”How could this be, how could brother have trouble?”

”I just hope those Zhongyuan people truly have a way to save him, but I hear the process is very complicated, even if your brother is revived, it won’t be easy for him to recover as before. You know the situation of us three, you must help mom protect your brother!” Empress Yazi tried hard to calm down, her eyes turning resolute.

Princess Ya’an slowly became clear-headed and covered her mouth, crying, her tears were extremely sorrowful. Empress Yazi couldn’t bear it, she hugged her daughter and cried together.

After a while, Princess Ya’an’s cries finally subsided, she bit her lip, and said, ”Mother, I won’t leave the Royal Family, I’ll follow your arrangement.”

”Good, good daughter.”

...

Bai Ruozhu took advantage of the Emperor not paying attention, added some Hot Spring Water from the space into the bath tub, accelerating the Second Prince’s detoxification speed. She didn’t originally want to casually use the Hot Spring Water, but the assassination of Tang Feng and the others by the ninjas angered her completely. Since the other side feared the Second Prince’s survival, she was determined to revive the Second Prince quickly.

”Alright, keep the water in the bath warm for three days, cannot leave the medicine soup.” Bai Ruozhu said.

The Emperor wiped the sweat from his forehead, ”Will Cilang awaken in three days?”

”Yes, maybe even earlier, and it’s fortunate that the poison began early on the Second Prince, if delayed a few more days, it would be difficult to handle.” Bai Ruozhu said.

The Emperor folded his hands, ”Buddha bless, Master Puru must have heard the prayers for Cilang.”

”Your Majesty, you’ve been exhausted these days, take a rest. The situation is complicated, you mustn’t collapse.” Jiang Yichun noticed his haggard appearance and reminded.

”Alright, I’ll leave it to you two, this yard is also full of Shadow Ninjas and confidants.” Saying this, he might have feared Jiang Yichun and the others had bad impressions of Shadow Ninjas, so he added, ”But don’t worry, the Shadow Guards won’t enter the yard.”

Jiang Yichun nodded, ”Once our people arrive, we’ll set up an array to ensure the Second Prince’s safety as much as possible.”

The Emperor did not exchange formalities with Jiang Yichun and the others, thanked them and left, but soon someone brought some supplies, including a dozen sets of beautifully made Zhongyuan clothing and jewelry to facilitate Bai Ruozhu and the others in changing.

”How do you feel about this place?” Jiang Yichun asked, thinking that since their arrival someone had attempted to take action, he foresaw possible troubles ahead.

Bai Ruozhu smiled, ”We’ve come this far, there’s no retreat for us, it’s just that the Emperor isn’t managing the Imperial Court so well, I noticed he still hasn’t found out who tampered with the bath tub.”

Jiang Yichun helplessly shook his head, ”Perhaps he’s wholeheartedly devoted to Buddha.”

Elsewhere, the Emperor intended to rest, but visited Empress Yazi’s bedchamber instead. He thought of Yazi as the mother of the Second Prince, and now she must have heard something, fearing she would be terribly anxious.

Indeed, upon entering, he saw Empress Yazi and Princess Ya’an with reddened eyes from crying, and his heart couldn’t help but ache, he comforted them with a few words.

Then he explained gently, not avoiding the poisoning of the Second Prince but not exaggerating, simply stating that he would certainly be saved.

”It’s just that we haven’t found the person who poisoned yet, earlier someone even tampered with the bath, the detox process must be meticulous, absolutely cannot let anyone exploit loopholes.” The Emperor said again.
