I Just Started College, How Could I Become a Part-Time Papa?!

Chapter 98: Chapter 75: Here to Avenge Mom

Chen Yuan left without even eating.

Before he left, he gave Song Jianye a lecture.

So young, yet always thinking about all sorts of nonsense.

He just had too much time on his hands and wasn’t working hard enough.

Near University City, he spotted someone selling balloons and bought one for Mili. He also picked up a savory Chinese crepe before heading to Jiang Wanyi’s by car, saving her the trouble of cooking for him.

There were a few delivery packages at her door.

One of the packages was very large, and he could guess what it was with a single glance. It was probably diapers for Mili.

The other one was also easy to guess—it was likely clothes that Jiang Wanyi had bought.

He knocked on the door, picking up the packages from the floor. Just as he’d guessed: diapers and clothes.

’Hmm?’

Chen Yuan hadn’t paid much attention at first, but his gaze unintentionally swept over the shipping label. There was a line of small text below, stating the item’s name.

Qipao!

He had seen photos of Jiang Wanyi in a qipao before and knew she had a special fondness for them and other traditional-style clothing. He hadn’t expected her to buy another one.

[System Mission: As a super dad, it is your unshirkable duty to take beautiful photos of the mother and daughter. Help Jiang Wanyi with a parent-child photoshoot. Reward: 1600 yuan in cash, 5% increase in Focus.]

He had just been rewarded with professional-level photography skills, so completing this mission would be no trouble at all.

As long as Jiang Wanyi was open to the idea, he could finish it with ease.

Even if she wasn’t, he wasn’t worried. If he offered to take her picture, she wouldn’t refuse.

The Focus reward was good, too. It would be useful for studying.

’I’m aiming for grad school!’

Just then, Jiang Wanyi opened the door. She was dressed comfortably for being at home in a light green top and blue athletic shorts, giving her the charming air of a young housewife.

”Give me those. Come on in.”

Jiang Wanyi took the items from him and welcomed him inside.

”She doesn’t lack for toys. Don’t spend money on her next time. Keep it and buy yourself something nice to eat.”

”It’s fine. It didn’t cost much.”

Seeing Chen Yuan, Mili started babbling and laughing as she crawled toward him.

”Come here, let me hold you.”

Chen Yuan walked over, picked Mili up, and pressed his cheek against her little one.

”Go rest for a bit. I’ll cut up some fruit for you.”

”I’m not tired.”

Jiang Wanyi went into the kitchen. Several more boxes were piled on the floor—some with fruit, others with nutritional supplements. Just a glance at the packaging told him they weren’t cheap.

As she squatted down, the shape of her rear was like a giant peach, an especially beautiful sight.

She opened the packages and took out the fruit to wash it.

”This fruit couldn’t have been cheap, right? I bet you two haven’t eaten much of it; I’m the one eating it all.”

”Not everyone gets this kind of treatment. You should eat more.”

Jiang Wanyi’s movements were quick and deft. She washed the fruit in no time, peeled it with practiced skill, and soon had it all sliced.

”Come on, let’s go into the playpen.”

Chen Yuan carried Mili back to it and saw that it was filled with even more new toys: dolls, toy cars, and lots of stuffed animals.

”Couldn’t control your shopping habit again, huh? Buying so much stuff.”

”Not this time, really,” Jiang Wanyi said seriously.

”A friend came over today. They brought all these toys and the fruit in the kitchen. But she’s too young for these toys right now; she doesn’t even know how to play with them.”

”She can just grab them and play. Besides, they’re all colorful, which can help develop her color perception.”

Jiang Wanyi nodded. ”Have some fruit first. You can just put the baby down.”

As Chen Yuan ate the fruit, he noticed a light sheen of sweat on Jiang Wanyi’s smooth forehead, with a few strands of hair stuck to it.

”Were you working out at home? You’re all sweaty.”

”The sink in the bedroom is clogged. I was just trying to deal with it. It’s good you’re here. Can you watch the baby for a bit while I go see what’s wrong?”

”That’s not a job for you. Let me handle it.”

She brushed aside the bangs on her forehead. That feeling of being able to rely on him grew stronger.

’Doing laundry and cooking are my strengths, and they’re not difficult. But I’m not very good at this kind of thing. I was in the bathroom for a long time and couldn’t fix it.’

’With Chen Yuan here, I can just ask him for help.’

”Are you sure you can handle it?” Jiang Wanyi asked with a smile.

”I’m guessing you’re used to being waited on hand and foot at home. Can you really do this kind of work?”

”Hah, it’s a piece of cake.”

”Let’s do it together. I’m afraid you won’t know what to do.”

”Alright.”

Chen Yuan placed the baby in her walker and tied the balloon to the side where she could reach out and touch it. This would keep her attention so she wouldn’t get fussy.

He pushed the walker to the door of the master bathroom, keeping Mili within his line of sight.

Watching Chen Yuan patiently and meticulously settle Mili, a knowing smile appeared on Jiang Wanyi’s face.

’He really does seem like a proper dad.’

’When I chat with my colleagues, I always hear them complain about their husbands, how they barely look after the kids at home and never proactively buy things when they’re out.’

’Compared to them, Chen Yuan is so much better.’

’Looks like I can’t give him the ”Best Friend to Women” award anymore. I’ll have to make him a ”Best Dad” award instead.’

After settling Mili, Chen Yuan turned and entered the bathroom.

He was in for an eyeful.

It wasn’t as large as the guest bathroom off the living room, but it was big enough.

Between the sink and the glass shower stall stood a small drying rack, on which hung Jiang Wanyi’s underwear.

There were three pairs of panties and two bras. No two were the same in style or color. You couldn’t call them sexy, though; the panties were all pure cotton.

Two of the pairs were plain cotton—one grass-green, one light pink. The last pair was black with a lace trim that looked very feminine.
