I Just Started College, How Could I Become a Part-Time Papa?!

Chapter 69: Chapter 67: I’m Too Embarrassed to Play

What Chen Yuan said made Jiang Wanyi realize he was right.

At least when she held his arm, no one was snickering anymore.

She had gone out with Chen Yuan a few times before, but her daughter had always been with them, so passersby naturally assumed they were a family of three.

Now that it was just the two of them, they were standing close, but with no other physical contact. To others, they must have looked exactly as Chen Yuan had described.

Putting herself in their shoes, she figured she’d also find such a situation interesting if she saw it in a mall, but there would be no ill intent.

”You caught on pretty quick.”

”I’m working with a new brain, after all.”

Out of habit, Jiang Wanyi’s hand reached for Chen Yuan’s waist.

”Are you saying I’m old?”

”Now this looks even more like it.”

Jiang Wanyi noticed their actions and posture were indeed a bit intimate, more like a boyfriend and girlfriend.

”Alright, I’ll stop messing with you.”

Jiang Wanyi let go and straightened her clothes and skirt.

”We’re here. Let’s go in and look around.”

”Let’s go.”

The baby and maternity store was more crowded than they’d expected. A bright sign proclaiming ”20% Off Two Items, 30% Off Three Items” had attracted many moms.

”What’s the price if I buy four or more items?”

”It’s all 30% off. I saw it online. The comments said it’s cheaper to buy things here than on the web. And it’s about time to replace some of Mili’s things anyway, so I’ll stock up this time.”

”Mm.”

The store was very large and divided into several sections. Besides things for kids like baby bottles and diapers, there were also items for new mothers. On top of that, there was also clothing; the range of products was very comprehensive.

The first place Jiang Wanyi went was the diaper section.

She also used the Coolbear brand, and she spotted it on the shelf right away.

”Look at the price. With the discount, it really is a bit cheaper than buying online.”

”Buy some more to take home. I can help you carry them.”

”Let’s not buy them yet. We’ll get them on our way out. Otherwise, we’ll have to carry them around, and that would be tiring.”

”You’re always so thoughtful.”

Once inside the store, Jiang Wanyi’s attention was completely captivated by all the small, pastel-colored items.

”Look at these two bowls. Which one is cuter?”

There were two feeding bowls, one shaped like a little bear and the other a little rabbit. Both were very cute in design.

”The little ducky feeding bowl she’s using now... you didn’t buy that long ago, did you?”

Jiang Wanyi pouted, looking at Chen Yuan innocently.

”When I see these things, I just want to buy them for her.”

”Don’t buy it. You shouldn’t waste money even if you have it.”

”Okay, I’ll listen to you.”

Putting the feeding bowls back, Jiang Wanyi stopped in front of another shelf. This one had accessories. She picked up a red hair clip with reindeer antlers on it that looked very festive.

”How about this one?”

”No problem. Buy it.”

Trailing behind Jiang Wanyi, Chen Yuan finally understood. She looked like she wanted to haul everything in the store back home.

Jiang Wanyi was very rational about other things, but when it came to Mili, she had a hard time controlling herself.

”If I hadn’t come today, would you have come here to shop anyway?”

”Of course. It’s the last day of the sale, after all. It’d be a shame not to check it out.”

”And if I hadn’t come, would you have bought all those things I just talked you out of?”

”You’re right. It’s a good thing you’re here to rein me in. Otherwise, I’d probably regret it after getting home, and my mom would lecture me too.”

”Sounds like you’ve made that mistake before.”

”Too many times. My mom says I’ve bought enough stuff to last until a second child.”

”Then keep them. Maybe you’ll really have one someday,” Chen Yuan said with a smile.

”Don’t be ridiculous. I’ve never even thought about having a second child. My biggest dream is just to raise her to be a healthy adult. I don’t ask for anything more,” Jiang Wanyi said.

”Besides, who would I have one with? Finding someone new doesn’t guarantee they’d be good to my child. Even if I don’t think about myself, I have to consider her, right?”

Chen Yuan nodded. ”When my mom chats with other people, she basically says the same thing. It’s all about putting the kids first.”

”That just means your mom and I think alike. And I really don’t have any plans for that. Let’s just leave things as they are.”

”Mm.”

After spending this time with her, Chen Yuan had gotten to know her a little better.

No matter what, she always put her child first, avoiding any and all risks that could be harmful to her.

Otherwise, she wouldn’t have secretly wiped away tears in her room after spanking her child a few times.

Jiang Wanyi was gentle, like a spring breeze or a summer stream.

But she was also strong—strong like a female knight, offering her child the staunchest protection.

This was her brilliance, and also her charm.

Chatting as they walked, the two of them wandered into the postpartum recovery section.

The shelves were lined with various pieces of fitness equipment. Jiang Wanyi studied them intently. She was currently doing her postpartum recovery, so she could buy something if she needed it.

”This is your area of expertise. Is there anything here I could use?”

”A lot of this is for general fitness. For postpartum recovery, the couple of things you have at home are enough. If you’re planning to get into fitness, though, you could buy some of this to take home.”

”I don’t have any plans for that right now...”

Jiang Wanyi stopped in her tracks, staring intently at an item on the shelf.

Chen Yuan glanced over and was startled to see they were the vaginal dumbbells he had seen before.

This stuff was indeed useful for postpartum recovery, but...

”You just swore you weren’t looking for a new partner, and now you’re eyeing this thing.”

Jiang Wanyi’s delicate face instantly flushed red. ”I just happened to see it! Who said I was going to buy it? You’re so annoying.”
