Chapter 495: Chapter 495: Whoever becomes Sect Master, kill them!_1

”If not me, then who else?”

Carson Flores smiled faintly, but this smile appeared like the taunting of a demon in Maxton James’s eyes.

”I originally planned to lure others to attack you, and then I would take advantage of the chaos to seize control of the Heavenly Mountain cave entrance. Meanwhile, I would see if anyone else could finish you off for me. You indeed made a decisive move, throwing the cave entrance away...”

Maxton James’s head buzzed, filled with a humiliating sense of intellectual defeat.

When he saw Carson Flores, he treated him as someone he could easily kill, having absolute psychological advantage. But when the truth was revealed, he realized he was the most foolish of all.

Maxton James was in despair.

He did not beg for mercy, because he knew that since Carson Flores had told him all this, it meant Carson did not plan to let him live.

If he wanted to live, he’d have to fight for his life!

Maxton James’s eyes suddenly reddened, his face instantly filled with blood, and veins on his neck bulged as he used the Five Dragon Sect’s Blood Burning Technique to force out his potential.

Seeing this, Carson Flores didn’t waste a word and directly threw a punch down.

Maxton James rolled swiftly, incredibly agile, and avoided Carson’s punch.

The ground instantly cracked.

Maxton James sprung out, attempting to flee away.

He had already witnessed the horror of Carson’s strength. Even with his power greatly boosted now, he had no confidence in overwhelming Carson.

All he wanted was to get away!

As for the side effects of using the Blood Burning Technique, that wasn’t even a consideration at the moment. What side effects could matter when one was about to die?

One must live to worry about side effects!

But Carson Flores did not give Maxton James the chance to escape. He shot out like a ghostly bullet, instantly closing in on Maxton, launching another punch.

Maxton James had no place to escape and could only brace for impact.

”Boom”

Maxton James stepped back two steps, his complexion growing three shades redder.

Carson took a step back, then lunged forward again, throwing another punch.

Maxton James was shocked to his core. He had greatly enhanced his strength using the Blood Burning Technique, yet he was still slightly inferior to Carson Flores!

How formidable was Carson’s strength!

”Bang!”

Maxton James couldn’t shake off Carson, nor did he dare not to face the blows head-on.

He had to brace himself. If he allowed a hit to any other part of his body, he feared that one punch would shatter his frame.

One punch!

Another punch!

And another punch!

...

With every punch he received, Maxton’s already crimson face became even redder, blood vessels in his eyes multiplied, and the veins on his neck bulged even more.

Maxton felt as if he were a piece of iron glowing red on an anvil, with Carson Flores’s fist being the hammer striking him again and again.

Some are tempered into steel, others are reduced to ashes.

Maxton felt he was on the verge of turning to dust.

With each punch, Maxton’s body was jolted back a bit further—starting with two steps, then three, then seven, until he was sent flying.

After seven or eight punches, a long ravine was forcibly carved through the forest, and who knows how many trees were broken.

When Carson Flores threw another punch, Maxton James’s entire body was smashed against a giant tree trunk, unable to dissipate the tremendous force, bracing for the impact.

This strike caused Maxton James’s body to collapse completely.

”Spurt!”

Maxton spat out a mouthful of blood, an amount so great it seemed that all the blood in his body was expelled.

With that bloody spit, Maxton James’s body wilted down at once, sapped of vigor as if drained of life, collapsing to the ground. His once ruddy face instantly wrinkled, and he seemed to age twenty years in an instant.

Maxton James collapsed on the ground, looking up desperately at Carson Flores.

He had never seen anyone with such terrifying combat power at the Grandmaster Realm.

This power was unrivaled in the Grandmaster Realm!

Gasping, Maxton voiced his final question, ”Why is your strength so great?”

Carson chuckled, ”Maybe I’m a genius? Anything else you want to ask or tell me?”

Maxton shook his head, ”You are a genius, and you might beat Shane Fox, but you will definitely not beat the Sect Master. The method you used against the Vasquez Family won’t work on the Sect Master!”

Carson raised an eyebrow, ”How so?”

Maxton, exhaling a mouthful of blood, gasped, ”The Sect Master is a cultivation genius, and what’s most important is his cold-heartlessness. No one becomes an obstacle for him. If the Sect Master wants to kill you, he will definitely kill you. You can’t escape!”

Carson frowned, ”He’s the Sect Master of the Five Dragon Sect, doesn’t he care about the sect?”

Maxton laughed bitterly, sarcasm unable to be concealed in his smile, ”Do you know how the last Sect Master of the Five Dragon Sect died?”

Carson asked, ”Was it Gunner Tate?”

Maxton nodded, ”Yes, at the time, the Sect Master would have preferred to pass the position to Gunner Tate’s elder apprentice brother. Gunner Tate disagreed, then he challenged his elder apprentice brother in front of everyone, crippling him, and when everyone thought he would stop there, he directly challenged the Sect Master, severely wounding him. Not long after, the Sect Master died of his injuries.”

With a complex expression, Maxton explained, ”Gunner Tate told all the disciples that he didn’t care about becoming the Sect Master, but he had to be the Sect Master. If he couldn’t be the Sect Master, he’d kill whoever took the position.”
