The Female CEO's Personal Bodyguard

Chapter 468: Chapter 468 I’m like a thief_1

”Grandpa, Grandma...”

”Ah, come on in.”

With the threat to the Vasquez Family eliminated and backed by the might of four Innate Great Grandmasters, Carson Flores was no longer in danger and regained his freedom. Consequently, he brought Samantha Tate back to the Frost Family.

Just as Leah Frost had said, when Carson returned, everyone from his grandparents to his uncles and aunt, and even his cousins, warmly welcomed him. When Carson was in danger, his grandfather had been willing to risk his own life to protect him.

When his grandfather realized he was limited in his ability to provide protection, he changed his approach, using his own life as a bargaining chip, hoping to drag the Frost Family Patriarch into the fray to alleviate some of the pressure on Carson. Antonio Frost, Carson’s eldest uncle, had also gone all out to track the movements of the Vasquez Family, offering informational support.

They truly regarded Carson as a family member and protected him as such, so now Carson opened his heart to them as well.

Lillian Frost ran over, grabbed Samantha’s arm, and laughed, ”Little Sam!”

Antonio Frost patted Carson on the shoulder and laughed, ”You sure fooled us, kid!”

Just as Carson was about to speak, his uncle laughed again, ”My brother-in-law was outstanding in his time, but I never expected my nephew to surpass him, becoming a Great Grandmaster at twenty-seven. What a limitless future you have!”

Samantha received a warm welcome in the Frost Family, which made her feel overwhelmed and even somewhat fearful. After all, strictly speaking, Dawson Frost’s granddaughter-in-law was actually Shirley Miller.

Carson and Shirley Miller were legally married!

This made Samantha feel as if she had secretly taken something very important from her sister.

Grandpa Dawson Frost asked, ”Carson, what are your plans now?”

Carson smiled, ”I plan to go into seclusion to train. I acquired three Dragon-Tiger Pills from the Vasquez Family, and I’ll spend some time assimilating and absorbing them to enhance my abilities!”

Strictly speaking, the Three Dragon and Tiger Pills did not belong solely to Carson, but Rocky Stein had only intervened in exchange for treatment opportunities, so there was no need for concern. Samantha’s aunt, an Innate Great Grandmaster, also didn’t find much use in the pills. Out of her love for Carson, she not only refused his offer to split the pills but brushed aside even the contributions of the two elders from the Vasquez Family.

”They took action against Isaias Vasquez only because I brought trouble to the Vasquez Family, and they had to step in to eliminate the menace. It has nothing to do with you, so you don’t need to feel indebted to them. Hence, you don’t need to share the Dragon-Tiger Pills with them, and they don’t need them!”

Dawson Frost nodded, ”Good! Although you received help from four Innate Great Grandmasters and ultimately killed Isaias Vasquez, assistance from others is still external and uncontrollable. It’s better to rely on oneself than to rely on others, and only your own strength is the most reliable!”

Carson nodded in agreement, but he wondered if his grandfather’s remarks were spurred by a previous stimulus.

He had asked the Frost Family Patriarch to help his grandson, but the Patriarch had refused to intervene on the grounds of Carson not carrying the Frost surname. Later, when Dawson tried to protect Carson, he discovered his own strength was insufficient, and his last resort was to use his own life to garner attention.

This feeling of powerlessness might have been the driving force behind Dawson Frost’s words.

Since Carson already had a house in Xi Jing, his grandparents didn’t ask him to stay over, understanding that young people need their private space.

Leah Frost said with a smile, ”We won’t disturb your time together today. Tomorrow, I’ll come find you and take you to a new place to train.”

Carson didn’t refuse his aunt’s kindness and readily agreed, ”Okay!”

After Carson and Samantha left the Frost Family, Samantha looked at the green jade bracelet on her wrist, ”Brother, I feel a bit guilty accepting this bracelet.”

Carson laughed, ”It’s a gift from the elders upon meeting you. What’s there to feel guilty about?”

Samantha whispered, ”I feel like all the treatment I enjoyed today should have been my sister’s. I’m like a thief who took advantage of the homeowner’s absence, impersonating the owner, and stole what belonged to them.”

Carson chuckled lightly, ”Aren’t you my girlfriend?”

Samantha nodded without hesitation, ”Of course I am.”

Carson nodded with a smile, ”Well, there you have it. You introduced yourself as my girlfriend, and they treated you well. There’s nothing wrong with that.”

Before Samantha could speak, Carson smiled and said, ”Even if your sister did come back, in front of my family, I would still introduce you as my girlfriend. Even if they find it problematic, they would scold me for being fickle, not you, who has given your wholehearted devotion.”

Samantha understood Carson’s implication and a wave of warmth surged within her.

He had taken responsibility for the convoluted relationship and attributed it to his fickleness.

In one sentence, Shirley Miller was not in the wrong, Samantha was not in the wrong. If someone had to be blamed, it was Carson, and he was willing to take full responsibility!

That is the duty a man must shoulder!
