Chapter 453: Chapter 453: Is It Hard to Become an Innate Great Grandmaster?_1

Memphis Vasquez sat by the pond, watching the fishing float on the water with a relaxed demeanor.

He enjoyed fishing.

At fifty-eight, he stepped into the realm of a Great Grandmaster, and twenty-three years had passed since then. In the first decade and more, he practiced diligently, forsaking other hobbies. Although his strength had improved, it did not skyrocket.

As time went by, he grew older, and the pace of his strength enhancement slowed down, eventually stagnating almost completely.

After persisting for another three years with little to no gains, he suddenly understood.

Becoming an Innate Grandmaster was not so easy, and he was not cut out for it!

Memphis Vasquez came to terms with it.

After all, with his Great Grandmaster physique, living to a hundred years old would be a breeze, so why not do what he loved while he could?

Memphis Vasquez stopped practicing martial arts from then on, fishing at different spots every day.

Recently, he discovered this wild pond teeming with fish of superb quality, even better than the wild fish in rivers and streams.

Memphis Vasquez treasured this place, fishing here daily and never failing to catch something.

A few days ago, a huge upheaval occurred in the Vasquez Family: six Great Grandmasters were assassinated in succession. Memphis Vasquez and the remaining three Great Grandmasters were summoned, ready to kill Carson Flores at a moment’s notice. However, after two days, there was no news.

Carson Flores seemed to have vanished from the face of the earth.

Everyone speculated that he either found a place to hide or had left Xijin with the aid of the Frost Family.

As powerful as the Vasquez Family was, it was incredibly difficult to find a Great Grandmaster who intended to hide, given the vastness of the world.

Since there was nothing to be done, Memphis Vasquez and the other two resumed their normal lives, simply remaining on call.

Memphis Vasquez hadn’t fished for two days and was itching to, so he quickly grabbed his fishing gear and headed for the secluded pond.

Today, luck was on his side. In just two hours, he had caught five fish, including a carp weighing over a pound.

Footsteps sounded, and Memphis Vasquez turned to see a beautiful woman in sportswear and sunglasses approaching with a spring in her step.

”Old man, fishing?”

Memphis Vasquez sized her up and grunted in response before turning back to watch his float.

The beautiful woman walked up to Memphis Vasquez, glanced at the fish basket by the riverside, and smiled, ”Nice catch there, and a carp too. It must be perfect for sweet and sour carp.”

Memphis Vasquez frowned slightly, somewhat annoyed by the noisy woman.

The beautiful woman walked behind Memphis Vasquez, observing the float in the water, and spoke softly, ”I’ll be taking this carp of yours. My nephew loves fish, so consider this perch as a little interest for the Vasquez Family’s apology.”

Memphis Vasquez was startled, his muscles tensing abruptly.

He suddenly remembered.

He had seen a photo of this woman. Wasn’t she Leah Frost, who had disappeared with Carson Flores?

How did she know he was here?

Could it be that Carson Flores was also here, or perhaps even that Innate Great Grandmaster?

Leah Frost took off her sunglasses and casually hung them on a nearby tree branch. With a slight smile, she said, ”No need to look, there is no one else here but me.”

Memphis Vasquez, puzzled, looked at the young and beautiful Leah Frost and asked with a frown, ”What do you mean?”

Leah Frost smiled faintly, ”Nothing much, just that the Vasquez Family and my nephew can no longer coexist peacefully—one side must die. For my nephew’s sake, naturally, it has to be the Vasquez Family that dies. Defeating Isaias Vasquez might pose some difficulty, so I’ll start by killing you three Great Grandmasters first.”

Memphis Vasquez finally understood.

Leah Frost was here to kill him!

Memphis Vasquez’s Gang Qi surged as he tried to float backward, but the distance between him and Leah Frost was too close.

Leah Frost’s pale palm ghosted through his blocking arm and slapped firmly onto his chest.

Memphis Vasquez’s chest caved in instantly.

Blood spurted from his mouth, his face filled with disbelief, ”You are... an Innate Great Grandmaster... how is this possible?”

Leah Frost smiled slightly, ”My brother-in-law comes from The Unknown Land. Is it really so difficult for me to become an Innate Great Grandmaster?”

Despair filled Memphis Vasquez’s eyes as blood continuously overflowed from his mouth.

Leah Frost’s palm strike not only shattered his breastbone but also severed his heart meridian and smashed his internal organs.

Memphis Vasquez staggered back powerlessly before collapsing face up into the deep pond without a struggle.

Leah Frost took the carp from the basket, snapped off a tree branch, threaded it through the fish’s gills, and carried the fish away. She put on the sunglasses she had hung on the tree, not sparing a glance at Memphis Vasquez sinking into the pond, and left with ease.

Half an hour later, Leah Frost entered her house with the carp in hand.

”Carson, come and see what I brought!”

Carson Flores came out from the house, surprised to see the carp Leah Frost was carrying, ”Where did you get this, and why is it threaded on a branch?”

Leah Frost smiled faintly, ”From a kind elder who was fishing... he generously gave it to me...”
