The Female CEO's Personal Bodyguard

Chapter 494: Chapter 494: I’m a Peak Great Grandmaster, and I got knocked away?_1

After turning past a peak, Maxton James saw Carson Flores ahead.

Carson Flores was sitting on a rock as if resting, and Maxton James no longer hid his presence, leisurely revealing himself as he walked towards Carson.

Upon hearing the footsteps, Carson turned his head and, looking a bit surprised, said, ”Mr. James, what are you doing here?”

Maxton laughed and got straight to the point, ”I have a good relationship with Shane Fox.”

Carson suddenly understood, ”So you’re saying, you’ve followed me here to help Shane kill me?”

Maxton’s gaze fell on Carson’s backpack, ”You’ve made quite a haul this time, five Spirit Pills that could create five Great Masters. However, I’ve heard they also work wonders for a Great Master himself, and who knows, after using all five Spirit Pills, you might just break into the Innate realm.”

Carson asked, ”Do you know about the feud between Shane, Gunner Tate and me?”

Maxton shook his head, ”I don’t know the details, but I know that the Sect Master ordered Shane to kill you, and that’s enough.”

Carson let out an ’oh’ before asking, ”What’s your rank within the Five Dragon Sect?”

Maxton stared at Carson, his eyes revealing a hint of confusion, ”Elder... It seems you aren’t afraid?”

Carson chuckled, ”Why do you think nobody else noticed my departure, but you did?”

Maxton’s complexion changed, ”What do you mean?”

Carson smiled, ”You’re so clever, why don’t you guess?”

Maxton’s expression darkened, ”Were you deliberately flaunting yourself in front of me, intentionally luring me here?”

Carson nodded with a smile, ”What else could it be? Otherwise, if I had left secretly, who would have known?”

Maxton suddenly became nervous. He had heard about Carson taking down the Vasquez Family patriarch with four Innate Great Masters. Could it be that Carson had set up an ambush with Innate Grandmasters in advance, luring him in just to kill him?

Maxton quickly scanned his surroundings, but everything seemed normal; no one was in sight.

Maxton looked at Carson with suspicion and snorted coldly, ”Trying to trick me? Then call out an Innate Grandmaster for me to see.”

Carson laughed, ”If that’s the case, then why don’t you make a move?”

A feeling of unease settled in Maxton’s heart. After all, a misjudgment could cost him his life.

Carson stood up and slung his backpack over his shoulders, ”If you’re not going to make a move, then I’m leaving!”

Maxton watched the smiling Carson, unwilling to let the Spirit Pills slip from his grasp. With determination, he charged at Carson, launching a punch.

Maxton had made up his mind that if anyone appeared, he’d flee at the first opportunity!

Besides, with his strength, killing Carson would just be a matter of one or two punches, right?

Kill and leave!

Carson’s figure dodged with frightening speed. Maxton’s punch fell through the air and instead shattered a tree trunk to pieces.

So fast!

Maxton was shocked internally. How could this kid be so fast?

Maxton quickly retaliated with another punch.

This time, Carson didn’t dodge, meeting the punch head-on.

Maxton was secretly delighted; this kid lacked combat experience!

With such fast movements, if he kept evading, it would be tough for Maxton to finish him off. But Carson chose to clash head-on – wasn’t that like an egg striking a rock?

See my punch blast you away!

Maxton put an extra threefold force into this punch.

”Bang!”

Maxton felt an overwhelming force come from Carson’s punch, and then his own body was sent flying, crashing through a tree trunk before hitting the ground.

Maxton was stunned.

What just happened?

Was he sent flying?

How was that possible?

He was a Peak Great Master!

As Maxton struggled to his feet, he found Carson already upon him, fists like furious dragons, bearing down with an insurmountable force.

Maxton’s eyes widened, and he threw a punch with all his might.

I refuse to believe it!

How could he possibly be thrown by Carson?

”Bang!”

Maxton’s vision went dark as blood spurted from his mouth, and his body was flung through the air once more, crashing to the ground in the distance.

Maxton felt the Gang Qi within him going haywire like slashing knives. He hadn’t even managed to stand up when he saw Carson already standing beside him, looking down with mocking eyes.

Maxton, blood seeping from the corner of his mouth and clutching his chest, looked up at Carson in despair.

”Weren’t you just a newly minted Great Master? How could you be so powerful?”

Carson laughed, ”Didn’t you say earlier I had vanished from sight? I was in seclusion, of course my strength has improved.”

Maxton suddenly realized, ”The Dragon-Tiger Pills! The Vasquez Family gave you Three Dragon and Tiger Pills, and you ate all three, which is why your strength surged?”

Carson grinned, ”Right. Such a simple fact, how could you not understand? In the Underground City, with so many people and Ghost-faced Bats attacking you, you still managed to escape. You do have a tough life, but it’s a pity you’re not very smart. Otherwise, if you had stayed at the camp, how could I have killed you?”

Thinking about the incident in the Underground City, Maxton’s eyes suddenly widened, ”The one who secretly set a fire to attract others and also alerted them to our hiding place was you?”
