Return of the Antagonistic Lady Boss

Chapter 1174: Chapter 1146: Someone’s Up to Mischief Again

”I’m pregnant...” Qian softly touched her belly in confusion, not really feeling much. The thing she’d hoped for so long had suddenly come true, and at such a moment. It felt so strange.

”We’ll talk about the good news later; I want to see Long.” She put aside the joy of being pregnant for her brother.

”He just woke up. He said he doesn’t want to see you, claims you’re annoying, and Mom donated blood to him.”

”What did the doctor say?” Qian was worried.

”The doctor said—” Yu Minglang’s eyes shifted, mischief on the rise.

”The doctor said Mom’s getting old, maybe didn’t donate enough. Long could kick the bucket any minute.”

Qian was overwhelmed by the surprise of pregnancy and the worry for her brother, her mind couldn’t keep up. She believed whatever he said, not even caring about the contradictions in his words. One moment he said it was fine, and now Long might kick the bucket any minute.

The doctor was separated by only a curtain and felt completely wronged upon hearing this. When did he ever say that?

Yu Minglang cleared his throat, while Qiao Zhen and others signaled the doctor to stay quiet, don’t speak! The vice president was being mischievous again.

Qian was too anxious, her intelligence dropped as she couldn’t ponder the flaws in Yu Minglang’s words. Trying to sit up, Yu Minglang held her down.

”Don’t move, I’ve already sent someone to the blood bank.”

”What are you looking for? If you waste time, what will happen to my brother? Hurry, take mine!”

”You’re pregnant, it’s not good for you to donate blood. Besides, that brat keeps getting on your nerves, doesn’t appreciate your good intentions. Like this time, you tried so hard to help him move forward, and he awakens saying he doesn’t like seeing you. Why save him?”

”That’s nonsense! No matter what, he’s my brother. If you stop me, I’ll lose it with you! You only know he’s immature. Why don’t you mention that when he was a kid, he took a knife for me? Or when he earned his first money, he bought me something? My brother is always my brother. Move, or I’ll kick you for delaying my brother!”

Qian was crying as she spoke, like a tearful wreck. Already worried about her brother and now emotionally charged due to pregnancy, she wasn’t her usual aloof self.

She pushed Yu Minglang away, put on her shoes, lifted the curtain, ready to walk out, and was bewildered by the scene outside.

Qiao Zhen moved his hand away from Qian’s mom’s mouth, letting her breathe deeply. ”Oh my, why are you stopping me from talking! It suffocated me! Qian’er, don’t worry, Mom donated blood to your brother, and the doctor said he’s fine now!”

Outside the curtain were two beds, one for Qian’s mom and one for Chen Zilong, whose eyes were red and tears covered his face.

The tearful Qian and the touched Long, moved by his older sister, exchanged tearful glances, creating an awkward atmosphere.

Yu Minglang emerged from behind Qian, holding her, ”Honey, I was just teasing you. Long’s fine, he wasn’t seriously hurt, just lost a lot of blood. Mom gave some, and now everything’s okay.”

”Sis... I was wrong, I shouldn’t have been sulky with you. Sis, now I understand how good you are to me, sis~” Long cried, touched beyond measure by what he’d heard.

He thought his sister looked down on him, thought he was a disgraceful child, and useless.

Unexpectedly, his strong sister cried for him, saying such touching words, leaving him deeply moved and shedding tears.

”Sis, I’ll always listen to you in the future, whatever you say, sis...”

”Ahem, remember what you said now. Don’t listen to me, and I’ll smack you!”

Qian blushingly uttered this and then eagerly slipped behind the curtain, feeling utterly embarrassed.

Indeed, pregnancy makes one silly for three years. With the pregnancy came a flooded mind, and she let the mischievous Xiaoqiang trap her!

Yu Minglang followed her in, laughing as he held her, knowing his wife was feeling shy.

”Now you can relax. The doctor said our brother’s fine, and he did well this time, like a real man. Our company wants to hold a commendation meeting for him.”

Qian had always worried Long might go astray, being extra strict with him. Now that Long had selflessly saved someone and become an exemplary model for the company, Qian could finally rest easy.

”Yes, our family has good hearts.” Qian’s mom agreed with her son-in-law, touched by the sibling bond. ”I’m happy to see the sister and brother care for each other so much. Qian’er cared for her brother since young, when Long, who ate fast, always remembered his sister, and Qian’er always shared with him. As they’ve grown, Qian’er remains mindful of her brother, and Long also thinks of his sister. As a mom, it makes me happy.”

Qian’s mom wiped her tears, speaking with gratification.

Qian was already embarrassed, feeling even more awkward due to her mom’s emotional speech, wishing she could find a hole to hide in. She felt she had made such a spectacle of herself.

She discreetly pinched Yu Minglang, blaming him for this mischief!

She plans to scold him later for being too over the top, digging a pit for her to fall into. How can she maintain her image as the stern sister to the brat Long now?

Her persona is shattered!

Ultimately, Long was safe and sound, just needed blood, then under doctor’s orders, was monitored another two days. Though hospital-staying was recommended, but as Long disliked it, upon consulting the doctor, Yu Minglang let him discharge and recuperate at home. The company praised Long highly for his rescue effort, Yu Minglang even granted him a few days off. Long worried his rest would affect evaluations, now realizing his sister’s expectations, more fearfully not meeting them, he wanted to return to training promptly.

Yu Minglang wouldn’t tell Long that his heroics were discussed by the board, whether he meets evaluations, they decided to keep him. Several department managers voted together, Yu Minglang abstained to avoid bias, with full votes to retain Long.

Being delayed by a rescue for evaluation would be unfair, moreover, Long’s previous scores always ranked top, no surprise he’d succeed.

Yu Minglang withheld this info, Long’s eager to return to the company, only rested at his command.

The young lad’s heart overflowed with gratitude for his sister, always wanting to express it. Qian couldn’t hear it, immediately kicking him away, hot-tempered as any pregnant woman!

But Long wouldn’t fear his stern sister anymore, for he knows she loves him best, la la la~
