Return of the Antagonistic Lady Boss

Chapter 300: Chapter 278: Time to Settle Accounts

While Shi Yu was settling accounts, Qian went to the hospital to see Yu Minglang, who was in a fit of rage.

”Take it away, take it away!”

”But the doctor said, you have to get the IV...” the innocent little nurse said aggrieved.

”Hold down this brat for me!” Mrs. Yu’s voice came through.

Yu Minglang was even more forceful, glaring, ”If you dare insert it, I’ll pull it out!”

Mrs. Yu was so angry with this rascal that her chest felt tight.

”Your wife hasn’t run away, she’ll be here soon, what are you throwing a tantrum at us for!”

This guy slept all the way here, and when he woke up and heard Qian had gone to give a statement, he started throwing tantrums, refusing the IV, and yelling at anyone he saw.

”Could no one think to wake me up? Just let her go by herself!”

Yu Minglang didn’t want to be separated from her for even a second; after this incident, it was him who was left with the psychological shadow.

”You haven’t slept for several days, Qian wanted you to rest...”

Yu Minglang knew it was bad to lose his temper, but not seeing Qian made him anxious.

”Since when did women start calling the shots in this household! I am the one in charge in the future; she can’t have her way!”

Qian pushed the door open and came in.

Yu Minglang saw her, and all his anger dissipated; just moments ago, he was itching for a fight, but as soon as he saw Qian, his tone changed.

”You’re back~” Thinking further, he realized something was off, and turned to his mother, saying, ”I always said, my dad’s patriarchal mindset is no good. Nowadays, women are half the sky. In my house, someone like Mei can support more than half. Everything should be discussed, handled democratically, no ’man in charge, woman in charge’ business!”

Mrs. Yu was so amused and irritated; she had never seen someone so shameless, and the nurse nearby looked as if she’d seen a ghost.

”Qian’s here, quick, help me hold down this brat and get the IV running!” Mrs. Yu summoned Qian.

Qian walked over but didn’t expose Xiaoqiang.

”Hang up the IV bottle.”

Yu Minglang immediately extended his arm to the nurse, like a well-behaved puppy, saying nothing, just staring at Qian.

Mrs. Yu held Qian’s hand affectionately, asking, ”Good child, have you suffered a lot?”

”It’s nothing, Minglang arrived just in time.”

”Go home and reassure your mom; come back to me in the evening, I’ll make you some nourishing soup, look how skinny this little face is...”

In fact, it had been less than three days, how much could one lose, all psychological. Mrs. Yu couldn’t imagine how such a frail little body could have so much energy; who could believe that this gentle little girl did all those things.

”Mom, go home and brew your soup, let it simmer for a while!” Yu Minglang was jealous.

His Mei had been talking to his mother for so long since he came in! How could she not even glance at him!!

Mrs. Yu was both amused and annoyed, ”All this will be yours in the future, what’s wrong with us two having a chat? Fine, I won’t stay and be a third wheel, I’ll go back to brew the soup and come back later!”

Qian felt embarrassed, but Xiaoqiang looked completely at ease; after all, who could compete with him for Mei!

After sending away Mrs. Yu, only Yu Minglang and Qian were left in the ward. Qian walked over, wanting to wring a towel to wipe his face, but Yu Minglang pulled her over, making Qian push him away quickly.

”Don’t move, you’re on an IV!”

He was hanging one hand while the other was on an IV drip; what if the needle slipped with such big movements!

”Just lie here with me, don’t move!”

”The bed’s so small, don’t press on your wound.”

Yu Minglang was so tall that he barely fit on the bed; if she got on, she’d definitely end up on top of him.

”Don’t force me to pull out the needle! I’m telling you, Chen Xiaomei, I’m still mad!” Yu Minglang glared; he didn’t even know how he survived these past two days.

Qian, knowing she was in the wrong, could only apologize softly.

”You only have this one IV, I’ll get on after it’s finished.”

Yu Minglang pursed his lips tight. Like a child throwing a tantrum, he glanced at the IV bottle, turned his head away in frustration, then after two seconds, looked back, stared at her intently.

They hadn’t seen each other for a few days, it felt like a lifetime, he couldn’t get enough.

When Qian stood up, he immediately sat up straight, eyes filled with unconscious panic.

Qian felt heartache; during the days she was gone, this godlike man had been driven to hypersensitive reactions; Yu Minglang, with such a strong mental capacity, was still her weak spot.

”Let me wipe your face,” Qian spoke soothingly, deciding not to leave him in the next few days to prevent him from worrying.

She wiped his face with a warm towel. He still had a fever; his face was a bit red from it, but his eyes were especially bright.

He watched Qian busy about for him.

He watched her face, her everything.

Qian felt his burning gaze, heart warming and feeling guilty.

When she left in her past life, was he like this too, in places she couldn’t see, what had he gone through.

The nurse came in, wanting to check if the needle needed to be removed.

But all she saw were the two of them wrapped in each other’s arms.

Hearing someone come in, Yu Minglang immediately turned his head, glaring at this unwitting third wheel fiercely.

The poor nurse had been frightened by Yu Minglang earlier. Now, it happened again, and she wished she could dash out the door, shouting, ”Head nurse! I want a room change!”

”I... I just wanted to see if I needed to change the medication...”

”When the time comes, I’ll pull it myself!” Yu Minglang said irritably.

Qian thought to herself, both your hands can’t move, are you going to use your mouth?

”I’ll call you later, thank you,” Qian said politely, and the nurse rushed out eagerly.

”Why are you so fierce to girls too?” Qian asked Yu Minglang.

”Don’t try to show off with me! If I treated other girls well, you’d make a fuss again.”

Qian gave him a slight smile, leaning her head on his chest.

It was rare to see her so obedient, like a cat retracting its claws.

But Yu Minglang, thinking how such obedience was bought at a high price, couldn’t be happy.

After finishing the IV bottle and removing the drip, Yu Minglang flexed his wrist a bit. Qian was busy checking his temperature with her hand and didn’t notice his gaze, which was rather fierce now.

”The fever’s gone, it’s not hot anymore,” Qian muttered to herself, not knowing if it was the fever-reducing medicine or just from tumbling around together earlier.

She tried to pull back her hand, but suddenly felt it tighten as Yu Minglang gripped her firmly.

”Chen Xiaoqian, it seems like there’s some unfinished business between us. I remember someone, before today, ran off to tell me decisively they were breaking up?”

”Huh, did that happen?” Qian felt something was off, trying to slip away, but he pulled her back, holding her in place!
