Return of the Antagonistic Lady Boss

Chapter 299: Chapter 277: Shi Yu Is Dead

Shi Yu entered Xuan’s home with the demeanor of a queen, sitting on that worn-out sofa and pointed at Xuan with her finger.

”Speak up, give me a reason. Xuan, before you betrayed me, I always thought we were friends.”

These days, Xuan was also tortured by fear, both physically and mentally exhausted. When Xiaoyu asked, she couldn’t help but spill everything.

”Friends? That’s what you thought, Shi Yu. You always get everything you want. Living in the residential compound, your family’s conditions were already better than mine. You easily had the skirts I wanted but couldn’t afford, and you even complained to me about not liking them after giving them to me. I hate your charity. The things you dislike, you always give to me!”

Qiao Zhen couldn’t listen any longer. What’s this brainless woman babbling about?

Shi Yu was always especially generous as a child. Whatever pencils she got, she’d give them away in no time. Her family told her countless times, but she never listened. In the end, she raised such a thankless creature? Yet, it wasn’t his turn to freak out; Shi Yu held his mouth, signaling him to be quiet.

Qiao Zhen’s heart was shocked once more.

Shi Yu turned her head to look at Xuan, chuckling lightly twice. Qian had said it right, a gift of a grain of rice can lead to enmity over a bushel. What had she done over these years that led to betrayal? She had been too foolish before.

”You talk so boldly. Why did you both resentfully play with me? Oh, you were with me just to get gifts. You received things but felt I looked down on you. Then why take them?”

Actually, Shi Yu liked that skirt too, but seeing her continuously cry, she said she didn’t like it and gave it to her. Because of this, she was even scolded by her mom.

”It’s not just that. Shi Yu, look at this.” Xuan pulled her shirt open, revealing the burn scar on her back. Though from ages ago, it still looked terrifying.

”What’s this got to do with me? I don’t know when you got hurt.”

”We went out to play, climbed that two-story building. You fell and crushed me; I twisted my ankle. When I went home, my foot kept hurting. I walked with a limp. That night, I got up to get some water. Due to the foot pain, I wrenched it again, bumped into a cabinet, and upset the sugar water my mom had put up. You know how hot that water was? Since then, I can never wear backless clothes again!”

Qiao Zhen couldn’t listen anymore. She blamed Xiaoyu for that? Why didn’t she say the extinction of dinosaurs was Xiao Yu’s fault too? Just holding a grudge for this over the years, women are really terrifying.

But Shi Touyu seemed to have anticipated he would speak. She turned, reached out her hand, and without touching his lips, Qiao Zhen’s heart was shocked again. But she withdrew her hand without touching him, leaving Qiao Zhen feeling empty inside.

Huh, what’s wrong with him today?

”So, because of this, you hold a grudge against me? Hate me so much you sold me out?”

”Yes, I hate you. You brought me such harm. I dropped out of school to get married because of poverty, while you studied in your big-city university. I admit, I was blinded by desire, Shi Yu. You hurt me like this, so I sold you out, but nothing happened to you anyway, right? Let’s call it even, don’t let your family sue me.”

Only now did Shi Yu believe that what Qian said about human selfishness was so correct. From the moment she entered the room, she hadn’t felt any guilt from Xuan. Even when she spoke of the past, her heart was filled with anger.

The plea was merely a desire for forgiveness.

”Why do you hate me because of your burn? Did I place the sugar water so high? Your mom feared you’d sneak a sip, and you probably moved the chair to get some, which resulted in the burn. How could a child your size knock over a cabinet? Xuan, I was naive before, but I’m not stupid. You took me for a fool, considering my kindness as me being dumb. Setting emotions aside, what are you? How can you affect me?”

Shi Yu glanced at the shabby room. ”Yes, your family is poor, your life isn’t as good as mine, so what? My family is wealthy, my dad is capable, I’m a rich second generation. That has nothing to do with you, why should I give you money?”

”Well said.” Qiao Zhen didn’t expect she could say such resonant words. These were lessons he’d taught her before, but Shi Yu cared too much about emotion. She was rich yet insisted on playing with less fortunate friends, pretending wealth was her fault.

Shi Yu pointed at Qiao Zhen, and he himself made an ’×’ on his lips, remaining silent.

The dark side of the younger sister, she’s so cute...

”I’m unwilling! Why?”

They were friends who played mud together in the same courtyard. Suddenly one day, Shi Yu became a rich girl. She was set to marry a poor man, even got pregnant before marriage!

”Because I was born better than you, because my dad works harder than yours. I might be incompetent, but my dad is rich, and he’s happy to let me freeload. You’re unhappy, well, that’s useless. My family’s money is unrelated to you. If you’re upset, go scratch the walls.”

Shi Yu spent two days alone with Qian, was brainwashed into a female warrior, and also accepted facts she’d always hidden. Yes, she’s rich, so what.

Xuan’s breath quickened with anger. She didn’t understand why Shi Yu seemed like a completely different person, each word making her jealous to the core, yet leaving her helpless.

”You’re envious of me, so wanted revenge, I can forgive you. Whether you saved me sincerely or by chance before, it’s all written off with your betrayal.”

”You’re not going to press charges?” Xuan looked up in surprise.

Shi Yu smiled and shook her finger. Only then did Qiao Zhen notice, damn, his sister’s hands are really long. Her shake seemed to make his heart move, like a reflex.

”No, my dear. I will sue you, both criminal charges and additional civil compensation. Not only that, when you give birth and go to jail, I’ll make sure your fellow inmates take good care of you. Trust me, I won’t let them hit your face. You know, my family is wealthy, buying a few prison bullies is not hard. I hear women prisons are known to be quite harsh.”

Shi Yu sighed and patted Xuan’s shoulder. ”Don’t worry, you’re just an accessory, the sentencing won’t be too severe. Three to two years will pass quickly. After some beatings, you’ll get used to it.”

Xuan shivered with fright.

”Shi Yu, you’re too cruel. You said we’d write it off.”

”I’m cruel? I was forced by you, Xuan. Do you know how terrifying that mountain ditch was? Do you know if it weren’t for my smart Qian, how would we have been? If it weren’t for Qian, I might never have escaped. You’re going to suffer for three years, yet Qian and I almost suffered for life. Don’t blame anyone, because the original kind Shi Yu was killed by you.”

”We were once friends, you shouldn’t be this harsh with me, Shi Yu, let me go...”

”You sold me out, I won’t argue with you, but you should never have involved Qian. You touched her, so I can’t let you go. Don’t worry, I’ll take my time. There’s plenty of that.”

Shi Yu didn’t plan immediate revenge. She wanted to hang Xuan out, make her horribly scared, yet refuse immediate completion because that feeling was how she and Qian felt in the ditch. How the law deals with it, that’s legal business. She merely wanted to return these few days’ feelings to Xuan.

”Good, well done.” Qiao Zhen didn’t know why he found his sister so pleasing to the eye now.

This bold way of loving and hating, so adorable.
