Return of the Antagonistic Lady Boss

Chapter 255: Chapter 243: Showing Results

She pretended to be generous and insightful, pretending to understand Yu Minglang’s work in particular.

But her heart still felt heavy.

Chen Xiaoqian, oh Chen Xiaoqian, you understand the theories, so why can’t you do it? How can you truly understand Yu Minglang?

If she feels this blocked every time he leaves, then how is it any different from the past life...

If this continues, her joys and sorrows will be controlled by a man, even when he leaves, she still misses him. She doesn’t like this version of herself. If she can’t find herself, how will she treat her patients?

How long can such emotions last? It’s a difficult question.

In the mountains a hundred kilometers away from the county town, Yu Minglang was assigning work to his employees.

”For the next ten days, we will be inspecting the mountains. Make sure to find any issues with this project, understand?” Yu Minglang spoke firmly.

Those who followed him were his trusted confidants.

A shareholder had been secretly causing trouble, tampering with the project being worked on in the mountains, and it was discovered by Yu Minglang.

The darkness hid his figure in the moonlight.

This place is near the south; although it’s not as cold as the north, the nights in the mountains during winter are still long.

Qiao Zhen stood beside Yu Minglang, handing him a flask, ”The mountain nights are too long, if you can’t endure, have a sip of liquor to ward off the cold.”

The stars in the sky, sparkling, the mountain sky is particularly beautiful. He really wanted Qian to see it too.

When leaving, she was a bit upset, Yu Minglang wanted to explain to her, but felt at a loss for words.

When they first met, he could easily say he was busy with work and she just had to deal with it.

But now, he feels those words are too heavy, her disappointed eyes etched deeply in his heart.

The responsibilities on his shoulders and the person in his heart.

How can he make his two most precious treasures coexist peacefully? Yu Minglang, soon turning 25, felt a bit lost.

Qian’s experiential therapy for re-establishing worldview hit a snag on the third day.

Qian and Teng Shuixian were fired.

The incident began with a wrongly served dish.

Each waiter had their own service area, but when too busy, they would help each other.

Shuixian went to help an older waiter, who had written the wrong menu order herself. The customer ordered the cheapest lamb, but she wrote the most expensive special lamb, and Shuixian helped deliver the dish.

The customer knew it was the wrong order but said nothing, only mentioned it after finishing the meal. In such cases, the restaurant required the waiter to pay out of pocket.

The older waiter firmly insisted it was newcomer Shuixian’s fault, demanded compensation. The lead waiter likely knew the truth, but sided with the older waiter, due to an unwritten rule in the barbecue restaurant.

Three days of free trial, no pay.

Trick people into doing a lot of work, then find some fault, and tell them on the third night they’re not suitable for the restaurant, goodbye, no pay.

Very unethical.

But it’s also a tacitly understood cost-saving method during the regularization development in the catering industry.

The opportunity now is perfect, they could use it to fire Qian and Shuixian without paying them a dime.

A dish of special lamb meat costs 25 yuan, Shuixian’s one week of temporary work only fetched 100 yuan, she naturally refused to pay for a mistake that wasn’t hers.

Qian’s experiential therapy to reshape worldviews had already started to show results.

Teng Shuixian now understood how hard money comes, and vaguely understood the hardships of her father’s work, although she still wouldn’t admit it verbally.

Previously, 25 yuan was just the price of a drink to her; she wouldn’t care, and might even feel pity for the older waiter.

She did experience how tough being a waiter was after working a few days, yes, waiters earn little, work hard, and endure customers’ difficulties.

But, so what?

These aren’t reasons to bully others.

So Shuixian showed a clever side, beginning to argue with the lead waiter, even trying to use the menu slip as evidence.

But, clearly, it was ineffective.

”You don’t need to come tomorrow,” the lead waiter said, tearing up the menu slip in front of Shuixian.

”Why! I did nothing wrong!”

”Whether you did wrong or not, you already affected the unity of our restaurant. Do you want to continue working? If you want to stay, the cost of this special lamb will be deducted from your salary, or you can leave now together with her.”

The lead waiter pointed at Qian.

Qian seemed indifferent, calmly asking, ”Why?”

”According to restaurant rules, there’s no pay during the three-day trial period. Both of you came together, she made a mistake and got fired, who will cover the loss for the special lamb? The only solution is for both of you to leave together, otherwise, working a week here earns you just 75.”

The lead waiter’s demeanor, at this moment, became a symbol of evil.

Blatantly bullying, clearly plotting against them, obviously giving them no options but to comply, utterly unreasonable.

Shuixian was so angry she clenched her fists tightly.

Qian patted her shoulder, ”See now, having wealthy friends doesn’t mean they’re necessarily unreliable, and poor, pitiful people aren’t always worth befriending. A person’s character has nothing to do with how much money they have.”

Seeing Shuixian’s distressed anger, Qian decided to offer a buy one, get one free.

”Shuixian, I think outsourcing your future EAP service to treat your anorexia may feel like taking advantage of you, since it’s a million-dollar annual deal — how about this, I’ll give you an additional small service for free, do you want it?”

Shuixian looked at Qian, her eyes clearly saying, we’ve both been bullied, how can you still have the time to talk about this?

”The service I’ll add could possibly affect your future management of enterprises, but people always have to grow up. Come, let me demonstrate, the correct emotional venting method in dealing with those who bully you, you weren’t taught this by your father, hence your pent-up anorexia. I’ll be merciful, and I’ll tell you.”

”What are you two muttering about? Have you decided what to do?” the lead waiter impatiently urged.

”We quit,” Qian said, untying her apron, with Shuixian following suit.

The lead waiter was satisfied.

Great, two more three-day laborers for free for the restaurant, so why aren’t they leaving yet?

”What are you standing here for? Waiting for me to see you off?” the lead waiter asked.

Qian pushed up her glasses.

”I am now, technically speaking, no longer your employee, so you don’t have the right to speak to me like this.”

”Then what do you plan to do standing here? Hindering our operations!”

”Operations? Ha, we are now your customers. Come, Shuixian, sit down.” Qian pulled Shuixian to sit down, glancing sideways at the lead waiter.
