Return of the Antagonistic Lady Boss

Chapter 262: Chapter 250: Silly Saohuzi

”Oh, you know...”

Qian grabbed another tissue and blew her nose forcefully, ”How could I not know? You came to Q City just for a blind date. This is the only thing you’ve begged me for, there’s nothing else. Let me tell you, no way.”

She definitely didn’t want outsiders to see her snotty conduct.

Qian is someone who pays special attention to her image. Now her cold is so bad, blowing her nose every 5 minutes, and it’s the kind with sound effects. Going out like this is too embarrassing.

”Please, we’re friends!”

”Aren’t you afraid I’ll pass my cold on to your blind date?”

”Passing it on would be great. I don’t want anything with him; it’s my dad who said it’s bad not to give face to an old friend. I’m reluctantly going to see him, but dining with a stranger is awkward. Just accompany me, and you don’t have to talk at all; you just—”

”I’ll just disgust him with blowing my nose? Tell me, that’s not what you’re thinking.”

”Um...” Just a tiny bit, I swear it’s not much.

Half an hour later, the exhausted Qian sat next to Teng Shuixian in the high-end western restaurant located in the tallest observation tower in Q City, staring at the vast ocean outside the window, with the seat opposite them still empty.

”Are rich people’s blind dates all this tasteless, picking the most expensive place to show off?” Qian had already drunk two cups of coffee to stay awake but was still sleepy.

”The place was picked by my dad, not me... Actually, I also find it a bit vulgar. Qian, what’s the best excuse to decline the guy without being rude?”

Shuixian asked.

”Simple, he’s late, making a girl wait can be a good enough reason to directly—achoo!” Qian picked up a tissue and covered her nose. The cold was really miserable.

”Alright, I’ll tell my dad.” Miss Teng felt relieved, took out her phone but found it was out of battery.

”Why did it have to die at this time?”

”Borrow mine.” Qian took her phone out of her bag, but due to the cold, her hand slipped, and the phone was about to fall to the ground.

A well-defined hand swiftly appeared from the edge of the table and caught Qian’s phone securely.

Qian looked up, seeing a man with sunglasses holding her phone, smiling at her.

”Here you go.”

The man seemed familiar... ”Have I met you?”

”I’m Zhu Dexi.”

”Oh, you’re Zhu Da—uh, Mr. Zhu!” Qian instantly remembered, wasn’t he her benefactor?

”Hello.” Zhu Dexi placed Qian’s phone down, looked around, seemingly searching for something.

”Excuse me, I have something to do.” He said and began searching along the table.

His steps were steady, though his gaze seemed a bit lost.

”Do you know him?” Shuixian asked Qian anxiously. Qian nodded, ”He’s a colleague of my boyfriend, from the same company.”

”What a small world. Why wear sunglasses indoors, is he not right in the head?” Shuixian whispered.

At this time, Zhu Dadao was pacing around the window and then began circling towards another side along the wall.

There weren’t many people dining, and this sort of pacing obviously drew the attention of the waiters.

Teng Shuixian and Qian looked at him simultaneously.

Qian seemed to understand something, lowered her voice, and asked Shuixian.

”It’s not what I think, right?”

”I hope not... Qian, if I pretend I’m having an anorexia episode now, can we just leave?”

Zhu Dexi was politely talking with a waiter, who gestured towards Qian’s table. Zhu Dexi awkwardly walked over.

”Um, are you Miss Teng?”

Shuixian thought of her father’s instructions and forced a smile. This idiot, where did he come out from?

”I’m Zhu Dexi; Mr. Teng sent me over.” Zhu Dexi pulled out a chair and sat opposite Qian, who was sipping her drink, thinking.

”Shuixian, let’s switch seats.”

Qian felt passing the cold to her benefactor would be a bit unkind.

Shuixian felt abandoned by her ally, glanced at Qian woefully as Qian blinked.

”Don’t be too nervous; relax. Have you ordered yet?” Zhu Dexi took the menu from the waiter, unable to read, so he passed it over by feel.

Shuixian was beyond mortified. If she had known earlier that her dad wanted her to meet such an older uncle, who wears sunglasses indoors, she’d have feigned an anorexia attack and lay flat on the floor.

Holding a cup trying to mask her emotions, Zhu Dexi’s menu was handed over, happened to knock over Shuixian’s cup.

Shuixian let out a cry, Zhu Dexi stood up hurriedly to help her wipe, unable to see clearly, feeling blindly for a tissue, and mistakenly touched a place that felt off.

A second later, a loud slap echoed through the restaurant.

Qian massaged her temple—her benefactor isn’t supposed to be like this...

Zhu Dexi likely realized what he grabbed, his neck turning red as it climbed up, resembling a drunken turtle—er, Qian thought using such a term for her benefactor might not be proper.

Shuixian’s hand remained on his face, creating that crisp sound with her delicate hand.

Zhu Dexi awkwardly retracted his hand, ”I, I’m sorry, I—”

”Qian, let’s go!” Shuixian’s face turned red as she withdrew her hand, filled with fury.

A blind date ending up like this, was simply enough!

”Uh, going out like that would make you catch a cold.” Qian pointed at Shuixian’s soaked wool sweater.

Beverage spilled over it, sticking to her body, showing the curves.

And the culprit still stood there awkwardly.

Shuixian was about to break down.

”There’s a mall across; wait here, I’ll go buy clothes.” Zhu Dexi seemed to understand what it meant to make amends, stood up, and quickly walked outside.

Shuixian could only put on her coat, feeling the anger rise inside, ”Qian, using your Northeastern dialect, how do I describe this situation now?”

”Big idiot... or you can say it more gently, foolish fawn...”

”Chen Xiaoqian!”

Teng Shuixian glared at Qian. Qian swore she wanted to show a little sympathy, but...

”Heh!”

She still laughed. Although the situation was a bit messy, it was inexplicably comedic.

While the two girls were talking, there was a bang from the front, and both girls turned around.

I saw the hurried Zhu Dadao directly crashed into a dining cart, with neatly arranged salad plates clattering down all over him.

The waiters were dumbfounded, what kind of situation was this, such a big cart, although the color was somewhat unclear, did he just blindly crash into it?

”Looks like your blind date location needs to change to the mall.” Qian pointed at the colorful mess on Zhu Dadao’s body, Zhu awkwardly turned his head, still wearing sunglasses, but the awkwardness on his face coupled with the mess on his body, and the innocent waiter caught in the chaos, Shuixian mumbled.

”He’s definitely a foolish fawn...”
