Undead Mage from a Cell

Chapter 1087: Chapter 1085: The Griffin’s Infinite Counterattack

”Bone Dragon Corps, attack!”

Watching the troops climbing up from behind the city wall, Gu Xi immediately issued the order as soon as he arrived.

Although the troops crawling up from behind the city wall were already distorted beyond recognition due to the Mirror Image Underground Palace.

But Gu Xi could still recognize where these things originated from.

They were clearly Griffins that had been transformed into Deceitful Shadows.

Not to mention anything else, their size alone was more than twice that of normal Griffins.

At the same time, the Heavy Armor draped over them also had a bizarre style.

It was obvious that the Heavy Armor was made of human skin and bones mixed with metal, and on the surface of the armor, there were reverse spikes formed from Long Halberd fragments.

It was evident that this Griffin’s Heavy Armor was pieced together from the corpses of genuine Halberd Soldiers and Lancers.

When these Griffins crawled out from behind the city wall, they had no intention of flying up to engage in combat. Instead, they bypassed the Deceitful Shadow Monsters ahead and leapt into the ranks of the Frenzied Beast Skeleton Soldier squad.

Their first strike left Gu Xi speechless.

It was his first time seeing an existence that could compete directly with Frenzied Beast Skeleton Soldiers.

Despite their large size, these Griffins were incredibly agile, and although it was unclear why they didn’t fly, their attack speed, no, it should be said, their counterattack speed was remarkably fast.

Whenever someone attacked them, they could immediately retaliate.

Moreover, their strikes precisely hit the attackers without harming other nearby enemies.

Gu Xi realized instantly that this counterattack effect was rule-based.

The infinite counterattack of the Griffins.

It seemed that all Griffins had this move, with the only difference being the number of counterattacks possible.

For normal Griffins, the so-called infinite counterattack really meant three to five counterattacks at most.

If they continued to counterattack this way, the Griffins themselves would be chopped down.

But the Griffins before him weren’t concerned at all.

Their Life Force seemed incredibly strong, and when Frenzied Beast Skeleton Soldier attacks landed on them, they didn’t care at all.

On the contrary, their counterattacks dealt a heavy blow to the Frenzied Beast Skeleton Soldiers, and although they couldn’t directly kill the Skeleton Soldiers, they could strike and knock them away.

Much of the Frenzied Beast Skeleton Soldiers’ attacks were blocked by the thick armor on them.

Even if some attacks weren’t blocked, the Griffins could withstand them.

For a moment, the Frenzied Beast Skeleton Soldiers were thrown into chaos.

And these Frenzied Beast Skeleton Soldiers were notoriously brainless and uncontrollable.

When the battle was going well, Gu Xi had considered them quite useful.

But in the current situation, Gu Xi also noticed the problem with the Frenzied Beast Skeleton Soldiers.

That’s why he released the Bone Dragons immediately.

Gu Xi’s plan was to have the Bone Dragons and Black Dragons fly behind the city wall and conduct a round of Dragon Breath on the enemy’s city wall.

Now it seemed that this plan was not suitable anymore.

As the Bone Dragons took flight, Gu Xi pointed to the battlefield below.

”On the battlefield below, unleash the Aging Curse, Black Dragon and Red Dragon follow up with Dragon Breath!”

Under Gu Xi’s command, a level 26 Ghost Dragon charged to the forefront.

It also knew the Aging Curse.

Although not very proficient, it could still use it.

So more than six hundred Bone Dragons, Ghost Dragons, and even Ghost Dragons, regardless of their level, began continuously breathing down the Aging Curse.

This time, the Aging Curse didn’t even spare the Frenzied Beast Skeleton Soldiers below.

The Ghost Dragons and Bone Dragons couldn’t distinguish between allies and enemies; they just targeted everything within the area.

The effect of the Aging Curse was to reduce Life Force and Attack Power.

After the wide-area Aging Curse was inflicted, the Frenzied Beast Skeleton Soldiers naturally felt its effect, but for them, a reduction in Power and Life Force was insignificant.

They were already weaker than the Griffins.

The reduced Attack Power and Life Force were percentages; compared between both sides, it was as if there was no change.

So the Frenzied Beast Skeleton Soldiers continued to attack as if nothing had happened before.

But for the Griffins, the situation was different.

These Griffins weren’t uncontrollable like the Frenzied Beast Skeleton Soldiers.

Once their Life Force decreased, they immediately realized the situation they were in.

At the same time, they understood Gu Xi’s tactics.

First lower the Griffins’ Life Force, then bombard their position from the sky with a wave of Dragon Breath.

As long as these Griffins took to the air to battle with the Bone Dragons, the curse’s effect would manifest.

As for the Frenzied Beast Skeleton Soldiers below, who were also cursed, Gu Xi could summon them at any time, so there was no concern about their safety.

But Gu Xi never expected that even after the Black Dragon and Red Dragon followed up with Dragon Breath, the Griffins still had no intention of flying.

At this moment, an idea suddenly flashed through Gu Xi’s mind; perhaps these Griffins really couldn’t fly.

At this thought, Gu Xi’s eyes lit up.

It seems this is indeed the case.

Previously, when these Griffins appeared, they climbed out from behind and jumped from the city wall to attack. Although their wings spread, they didn’t fly up but glided for a short distance while descending.

These creatures seemed to be affected by something and could no longer fly.

Gu Xi immediately identified the situation with these Griffins.

Yet, he felt a little regretful for not discovering this sooner.

If he had realized earlier, he wouldn’t have issued the previous order.

But now the orders were given, and the Aging Curse had already been applied.

Gu Xi couldn’t retract the curse.

Now, Gu Xi could only handle the current situation through other means.

”Combat Squad, attack, kill those Griffins, Bone Dragons, and Ghost Dragons, fly towards the city wall and attack behind the city wall.”

Under Gu Xi’s order, the entire Bone Dragon Corps immediately changed direction.

They rushed towards the wall-like Deceitful Shadow Monsters on the city wall.

The frontal Defense Power of these Deceitful Shadow Monsters was strong, but their Catapult parts behind didn’t have such strong Defense Power.

In fact, it was as if they had no Defense Power at all.

It was like a normal person wearing Cloth Clothing, holding a full-body Shield.

With the Shield, the Defense Power was strong enough, but without it, there was nothing.

The Ghost Dragons and Bone Dragons flew from the sky towards the rear Catapults, some using breath attacks, others diving for Physical Attacks.

No matter the method, the attacks of the Ghost Dragons and Bone Dragons landed perfectly on these Deceitful Shadows.

In just one wave of attacks, a large number of Deceitful Shadow creatures perished.

The Deceitful Shadow part quickly transformed into Deceitful Energy Pearls, while the Catapult and wall parts were left behind, scattered into bricks and components, lying on the city wall.
