Undead Mage from a Cell

Chapter 1071: Chapter 1069: Tools of the Trade

After the Corpse Witch’s explanation, Gu Xi finally understood what use these guys who possess Death City skills have.

According to what they said, their Death City skills really lack the part mastered by Death City.

They can use all other parts.

For example, they can deploy corresponding key buildings on the battlefield according to the skill level of Death City.

At the same time, if they are assigned a Death City, they can also manage it and build according to their own ideas.

It can be said that except for the fact that the Death City does not belong to them, they can utilize all other functions.

But the current problem is that Gu Xi would not share the control of Yalidu City with them.

So when the Corpse Witch said they were truly useful, Gu Xi was unwilling to believe it.

On the other hand, Luna, who was watching, roughly understood the situation.

”Master, I have summarized two points regarding the usefulness of these two; would you consider keeping them?”

Gu Xi glanced at Luna, thinking that finding two useful points showed her dedication.

”Go ahead, I’m all ears.”

Gu Xi directly ignored the Corpse Witch and turned to question Luna.

”First point, remote deployment.

Master, consider that now, you are the only one who can deploy city gates, city walls, and moats on the battlefield; afterwards, deploying castles on the battlefield.

This means our major campaigns will also start from the point designated by you.

This has an increasingly significant impact on us.

Master, think about it, what’s the furthest you’ve been able to deploy a city gate?

Isn’t it that you personally deployed them, and thereafter the gates stood fixed in place, becoming a fixture?”

Gu Xi could understand Luna’s point.

He nodded seriously, understanding Luna’s meaning.

These two who hold the existence of Death City cannot actually control a city independently.

Neither are they heroes nor leaders, and they lack intelligence of their own.

Entrusting a city to them would spell disaster for that city.

But to use them as tools for deploying city gates is feasible.

As Luna described, while Gu Xi’s Death City appears convenient, it is actually still limited.

The greatest limitation is that all external passages are in Gu Xi’s hands.

Some places must be accessed by Gu Xi before deploying city gates or such.

Currently, this isn’t an issue for Gu Xi.

But what if there is danger somewhere?

Luna’s words opened up Gu Xi’s thinking.

The more he thought about it, the more he realized these two were not as useless as he initially thought.

At least, as tool characters, they hold some utility.

Seeing Gu Xi’s reaction, Luna continued, ”Secondly, even if these two are otherwise useless, they can construct Death City.

This means they essentially come with a built-in construction team.

If external deployment is unnecessary, they can accompany me and simultaneously start construction work in Yalidu City.”

This point was not up for much discussion.

Since Yalidu City was taken over completely, Luna had been continually constructing in Yalidu City.

But the lack of a construction team under Luna’s hand had been slowing down the construction speed of Yalidu City.

Even though Gu Xi managed to acquire numerous architectural design plans, Yalidu City was being constructed at a relatively slow pace.

The biggest reason for this was the insufficient number of construction teams.

Now, as long as these two are well-controlled, they are the perfect tool characters.

Besides providing some battle support for Gu Xi, they can also provide certain assistance in construction.

In short, these two tool characters are usable.

”Then let’s keep them, Luna. You will be responsible for these two during normal times.”

Luna looked at the two individuals, nodded her head.

”Alright, I’ll handle it.”

After Luna arranged the matter, Gu Xi found himself seemingly with nothing to do again.

He thought for a moment and decided to take a break and wander around Yalidu City to see the changes during this period.

”I’ll leave it to you then, I’m going out for a stroll.”

Luna did not stop Gu Xi’s actions.

Yalidu City was Gu Xi’s territory, which was relatively safe.

As long as Gu Xi was within the city, there was nothing to worry about.

After leaving the Assembly Hall, Gu Xi did not use the Holy Silver Evil Coffin.

This time, Gu Xi intended to walk by himself; with the speed of the Holy Silver Evil Coffin, everything would just become a blur.

What would be the point of that?

Gu Xi now planned to slowly wander and take a good look around the city.

So after exiting the Assembly Hall, he glanced around, chose a direction, and set off.

After the unification battle of Yalidu and the new district planning, only the core and most important buildings were left in the main city district.

The majority of the core buildings here are unique; even if not unique, they are like a flagship store or head office.

For example, the Assembly Hall, which has a dedicated building in every district.

But the Assembly Hall in the main city district is larger than in other areas.

Before the redevelopment began, the Assembly Hall in Yalidu City was just a small two-story building, occupying the initial and most central location of Yalidu City.

But now it has changed a lot.

The new Assembly Hall consists of three buildings, surrounding a small square outside these buildings.

All together, it occupies a considerably larger area.

Although Gu Xi was unwilling to operate the construction of Yalidu City,

He actually has the authority to do so.

He could tell at a glance that the new Assembly Hall occupied one large plot, one medium plot, and two small plots.

This would certainly be considered a waste of space and land in other cities.

But for Luna, all this is necessary.

The three buildings and the small square each have different purposes and stories.

The building in the center is the official Assembly Hall; when Gu Xi enters Yalidu City, without opening the city gate, the point he appears is here.

This place is also where Luna does her daily work, and all kinds of intelligence and information are sent here.

It can be said that this location is key to the entire Yalidu City.

The small building on the left is for communication with the Assembly Halls of other districts, a building personally arranged by Luna.

Luna installed a mirror here that allows direct communication with other districts’ Assembly Halls.

Normally it can send orders to other district Assembly Halls through the mirror, and if needed, can even transfer directly to other district Assembly Halls through the mirror; it can also later enter the Mysterious Mirror Image Space or control the Jiaolong Blood Castle.

The right-side building, which is also personally arranged by Luna, contains the mirror monitoring system for the entire Yalidu City, allowing a view of all places in Yalidu City at any time.

Finally, the small square is used for storing the statues or achievement awards Gu Xi receives.

This is a good method to enhance Yalidu City’s honor and will be a point of focus for Yalidu in the future.
