Ice Age Apocalypse: I Hoard Billions of Supplies

This scene plunged Zhang Yi into silence.

It also made all who witnessed it sigh with emotion repeatedly.

Superhumans could indeed withstand the severe cold in such freezing weather.

But that required consuming their superhuman energy.

Moreover, being able to do something and being willing to do it were two completely different matters.

There was no trace of human habitation or buildings for a hundred miles around, yet he was slowly kowtowing along the snowy mountain.

Zhang Yi had heard that in the Snowy Plateau Region, there was a prayer method called kowtowing while circumambulating the mountain.

Only the most devout believers would choose this most arduous method.

In Tsangyang Gyatso’s poetry, there was a line: That year, circumambulating mountains, rivers, and stupas, not to cultivate the next life, but only to meet you in this lifetime.

This was enough to show that for followers of the esoteric sect, this was the highest form of ascetic practice.

Zhang Yi had heard about it on social media before, but this was his first time seeing it, and especially in these current times.

The Apocalypse had descended, order had collapsed, and people’s hearts were in chaos.

To survive, the vast majority of people could even abandon morality and human ethics.

And how many were there who could still hold onto faith?

”That must be a superhuman from the snowy region, likely a monk from Sangha Monastery.”

Yang Xinxin reminded Zhang Yi.

She wasn’t particularly interested in things like religion, so she wasn’t too affected.

If a person was too smart, saw many things too clearly, they would lose all sense of reverence for everything.

Zhang Yi thought for a moment, ”Let’s not disturb him. Someone practicing asceticism here is definitely not an ordinary person. We are outsiders after all, better to avoid trouble.”

Even though he said that, the snow vehicle still headed towards the direction of the ascetic monk, as that was the only path into the snowy region.

They watched him for over ten minutes. The ascetic monk paid no attention to anything in the outside world.

His bare upper body was as solid as a temple Buddha statue, his bare feet broad, leaving two rows of clear footprints in the snow.

Zhang Yi suddenly slowed the vehicle, looked at that ascetic monk, and slowly curled up the corner of his mouth.

”Never thought I’d get to see a good show here.”

Old You asked, puzzled, ”What’s wrong?”

Zhang Yi smiled faintly, ”Someone’s here.”

Liang Yue’s right hand instinctively rested on Dragon’s Roar’s hilt.

”There’s killing intent nearby.”

The few people in the vehicle tensed up immediately, promptly drawing their weapons.

But Liang Yue then added, ”This killing intent isn’t directed at us.”

Zhang Yi narrowed his eyes; he had already sensed the unusual movements around them.

It could fool others, but it couldn’t fool him with his space-time superhuman ability.

He was more sensitive to spatial vibrations than anyone else.

The ground beneath their feet rumbled. Over a dozen snow dragons suddenly surged from all directions, rushing towards the ascetic monk less than a kilometer away from Zhang Yi and the others.

Zhang Yi could clearly sense that when one of the snow dragons passed them, a probing consciousness swept over them.

But Zhang Yi took no action.

His [All Things Follow Traces] ability told him these people wouldn’t attack them.

Their target was that ascetic monk.

”Boom!!”

The snow dragons suddenly exploded at the edge of the earth. Over a dozen people burst out from beneath the ice and snow, surrounding the ascetic monk.

”Running dog of Sangha Monastery, your day of death has arrived!”

A woman strode forward. She wore white clothes, almost invisible in the heavy snow, but had long hair tied into small braids with colorful cloth strips.

Zhang Yi had prepared before coming to the Snowy Plateau Region expedition. He knew this was a local ethnic style of dress.

So these people were also from the snowy region.

”Local faction conflict?”

Zhang Yi tilted his head and said faintly.

”What should we do?”

Old You asked with some concern.

They were outsiders who needed to conceal their identities, so it wasn’t appropriate for them to get involved in any local conflicts.

”Just watch the show.”

Zhang Yi said faintly.

”Since we are ruthless mercenaries, we can’t be too rule-abiding. Besides, there are experts among these people.”

Before his words finished, the white-clothed people had already made their move.

The other white-clothed people didn’t move, just coldly surrounded that ascetic monk.

The one who attacked was that long-haired woman who looked like the leader.

The long-haired woman’s face was quickly covered by ice and snow, her body showing layers of crystalline state—the purest ice crystals.

Her hair strands, torso, and limbs all turned into solid ice. Her hair strands were as fine as iron wire. Her arms actually extended into long ice blades. Thick ice crystals all over her body condensed into armor.

She threw both fists towards that monk with force. The next moment, a terrifying snowstorm surged behind her. Ice blades like sharp weapons swept towards the young monk, blotting out the sky and covering the earth.

The ice and snow storm, like an avalanche, carried an almost overwhelming momentum to destroy everything before it.

This single move directly made Zhang Yi narrow his eyes.

”At least 9600 points... or 9700?”

In real combat between superhumans, unless it’s a sparring probe, every move is a killing technique, so one could judge the approximate strength range at a glance.

This long-haired woman was an ice and snow ability user, but her strength far exceeded Fatty Xu’s, by who knows how much.

The young monk had disheveled hair, his true appearance unclear.

He stood in place with his palms together. The terrifying ice and snow storm stirred up a fierce wind, which also lifted the messy long hair on his face.

Even at such a moment, a smile still hung on his face. But this lowered, smiling face faintly carried a pity that sympathized with all living beings.

”Why bother.”

He whispered, yet his body made no movement.

The surging snowstorm, like a collapsing snowy mountain, instantly arrived before him. Endless ice and snow storm pressed down.

But like a stubborn rock in a flood, he stood firm in the snow with palms together, unmoving no matter how it washed over him.

Sharp ice spikes scraped across his bare chest and cheeks, but shattered like snowflakes, unable to leave even a single scratch.

And the moment she clearly saw the young monk’s face, the long-haired woman’s expression suddenly changed drastically!

”Jue Guo, it’s you!”

Jue Guo raised his head to look at the long-haired woman before him. The long-haired woman showed no hesitation. Although complex emotions flickered in her eyes, she still shouted loudly and charged towards Jue Guo!

Her entire body was covered by hard ice and snow. Blizzard winds enveloped her. Any part of her body could become a lethal weapon.

Carrying such powerful momentum, like Mount Tai pressing down, she crashed towards Jue Guo!

Jue Guo’s sigh echoed across the snowy plain like a Buddha’s lament.

At this moment, even Zhang Yi and the others, separated by over a kilometer, could clearly hear this sigh.

Jue Guo suddenly raised his right hand. A golden radiance erupted fiercely from his body.

He raised his right hand. Behind him, it was as if a Buddha extended an arm from the void, a swastika symbol in its palm pressing down towards the long-haired woman.

The endless blizzard she carried, encountering that golden palm, melted away completely in an instant, like spring snow meeting the blazing sun in March.

”Pfft!”

With just one move, the long-haired woman was suppressed to the ground by the golden palm.

And a deep, obscure light flashed in Zhang Yi’s eyes.

”Epsilon!”

”I knew this guy wasn’t simple, but I never expected to encounter the Snowy Plateau Region’s Lord of the Charnel Ground here!”
