Ice Age Apocalypse: I Hoard Billions of Supplies

Regarding the construction of the breeding farm, Zhou Ke’er naturally provided guidance on the biological aspects.

As subterranean mutated creatures, Ground Centipedes, having survived the harsh environment after the Apocalypse, possess extremely tenacious vitality, so there’s no need to worry about their inability to hatch.

The main consideration after hatching is how to temper their wild nature, turning them into livestock that purely provides origin for superhumans.

Zhou Ke’er offered constructive guidance.

”Start screening from the moment they hatch. Those with overly aggressive tendencies can be eliminated outright, keeping only the ones with docile temperaments.”

”Food supply needs to be ample, their living environment must be comfortable, and any fighting behavior between them must be severely punished.”

”Over time, they will lose their innate combat instincts. Even if their origin continuously strengthens, they will lose the ability to fight.”

Lu Keran rested his chin on his hand, saying uncertainly, ”After all, they are mutated beasts, and their animal nature is hard to tame. What if they erupt one day? That wouldn’t be easy to control!”

”I will continue reinforcing this breeding farm to prevent any accidents.”

Zhou Ke’er said with a smile, ”Don’t worry, I have methods to handle this kind of problem.”

”Just inject them with drugs starting from the egg stage, causing their limbs to lose strength. Also, add a large amount of hormones to their daily feed. That should be safe.”

”Anyway, all we need is their origin. The condition of their other parts doesn’t matter.”

Lu Keran glanced at Zhou Ke’er, who was smiling beside him in her white lab coat, and suddenly shivered.

”Sister Zhou, why do I suddenly feel you’re quite terrifying?”

Hearing this, Zhou Ke’er looked up, shifting her gaze from the notebook where she was recording experiments to the ceiling.

”Is that so? But doctors and butchers were always quite similar to begin with.”

Anyone who has witnessed surgery knows this.

Lu Keran chuckled, ”Anyway, I’m only responsible for building the breeding farm. As for the later breeding, I’ll leave that to you, Old You, and Brother Xu to handle.”

At that moment, Old You and Fatty Xu, wearing full protective suits, were inside the breeding farm checking the condition of the Ground Centipede Eggs.

Technical tasks were handled by Zhou Ke’er and Lu Keran, while physical labor, of course, fell to them.

The Ground Centipede breeding plan proceeded just like that.

For Zhang Yi, the thing he most anticipated, the mech project that Lu Keran had been dreaming of for nearly two years, finally achieved a major breakthrough!

On this day, Lu Keran mysteriously called Zhang Yi to his laboratory.

Nowadays, more than a dozen rooms in the underground laboratory were prepared for Lu Keran.

After all, there was no need for warehouses here, so the space was extremely large.

Lu Keran led Zhang Yi and opened a tightly sealed alloy door.

”Brother, after researching mechs for so long, I’ve finally created the most perfect set! I believe you’ll definitely like it.”

Before opening the door, Lu Keran looked at Zhang Yi with full confidence, speaking quite proudly.

Mechs, these things originally only existed in sci-fi movies.

But over the past century, military forces of various countries have conducted research and secretly applied them in militarization.

However, due to various issues like cost, technology, and functionality, mechs never officially appeared before the world’s eyes.

Up to now, most of the technical problems have actually been solved by Lu Keran.

The only remaining issue was solving the energy problem.

Large mechs had extremely low cost-effectiveness, even less than building an armored vehicle with the same materials.

But exoskeletons held a different significance in the age of superhumans.

They could attach to the human body’s surface, becoming part of human combat power.

Whether for defense, attack, or the combat assistance systems they carried, they greatly benefited superhumans.

Zhang Yi looked towards the slowly opening laboratory.

In the center of the laboratory, a suit of pitch-black full-body armor stood quietly on the workbench, like a dormant beast waiting for its master’s awakening.

Its pitch-black surface and streamlined shape were filled with extreme aesthetic appeal. The matte finish didn’t reflect light, appearing somewhat plain, yet it was an attribute extremely advantageous for combat.

Even the tactical visor on the helmet showed not a trace of reflection.

The first thought Zhang Yi had upon seeing it was: ”Black? Won’t that be too conspicuous?”

Lu Keran quickly said, ”It has a built-in Chameleon system that can achieve optical camouflage based on the surrounding environment. And you can also manually control its color.”

Only then did Zhang Yi nod with satisfaction.

He walked to the side of the armor, examining it carefully—proving that just looking at its appearance gave no indication of its performance.

It was quite good-looking, giving a feeling of sleekness, not as bulky as one might imagine a mech to be.

Lu Keran stood beside him, carefully explaining its performance to Zhang Yi.

”I named this mech suit [Hidden Dragon]. It’s the second-generation mech I developed.”

”Old You tested the first-generation mech before, and its overall performance was already quite sound. Building on that, I significantly enhanced its performance.”

”First, regarding weight, thanks to the appearance of the Yuan element, the weight of carrying compressed fuel was eliminated. Moreover, after my ability improved, the performance of Yi Metal also increased. So, this exoskeleton mech suit weighs only 15 kilograms.”

Fifteen kilograms might have been strenuous for Zhang Yi in the past.

But now, firstly, he diligently exercised, and secondly, his body had been enhanced by Zhou Ke’er’s Physical Alteration. So, this weight was completely bearable for him, posing no pressure at all.

Zhang Yi stared intently at this mech suit. Under Lu Keran’s control, it continuously changed colors, demonstrating its optical camouflage performance.

”Currently, under normal combat conditions without affecting my own movement, I can carry up to 50 kilograms on my body. So, you can add another 15 kilograms of weapons and other tools on it. Just don’t exceed 30 kilograms at most.”

Lu Keran nodded, ”Regarding weapons, that’s not a big problem for you, brother. You can store weapons in your Dimensional Space. However, for emergencies, I still added a high-energy compression cannon on the wrist. To reduce weight, this is the only weapon, but its attack power is absolutely trustworthy. It’s not weaker than your Thunderbolt.”

”So next, I’ll add other tools to the armor, such as medicine and backup food.”

Zhang Yi nodded, ”Very good.”

He stretched out a hand, ”So, what about its defensive performance?”

He wasn’t particularly concerned about attack performance or the like.

One couldn’t expect a mech suit alone to grant him the capability to fight against an Epsilon-level reinforcement-type superhuman.

So, enhancing defensive power was still the most reliable.
