Ice Age Apocalypse: I Hoard Billions of Supplies

Pagyi Gesang knew that Zhang Yi was someone who wouldn’t release the hawk without seeing the rabbit.

No one dared to easily deceive an Epsilon.

So right here, he informed Zhang Yi of the current situation in the Snowy Plateau Region.

At the beginning of the Apocalypse, the Pagyi Family was the leader among the four great families.

The Pagyi Family possessed the greatest power, the most private soldiers, and the most widespread influence among the people of the Snowy Plateau.

But all of that changed after the Yasha Langtai Family produced a Lord of the Charnel Ground.

The current Lord of the Charnel Ground comes from a collateral branch of the Yasha Langtai Family.

After receiving the guidance of the Buddha’s light from the Sacred Mountain, he leaped to become a powerful existence at the Epsilon level.

This transcendent power instantly made the entire Snowy Plateau Region, including the superhuman groups in the Sichuan-Chongqing area who were still fighting each other, all bow their heads in submission.

Looking at the timeline, when the Lord of the Charnel Ground advanced to Epsilon, Zhang Yi was still at Cloud Villa Estate, engaged in a battle of wits with the people from West Mountain Base.

So back then, the Lord of the Charnel Ground, with his absolutely overwhelming strength, made the Yasha Langtai Family the uncrowned king of the entire Southwest Region.

When one family becomes overwhelmingly dominant, it breaks the balance.

The Yasha Langtai Family quickly seized power, and the family head, Deji, also usurped the position of Khenpo at Sangha Monastery.

In the Snowy Plateau Region, politics and religion are combined, and the Khenpo of Sangha Monastery represents the religious leader of the esoteric sect.

Nowadays, the Yasha Langtai Family holds absolute power and can even issue orders in the name of gods and Buddhas.

With a grave expression, Pagyi Gesang said, ”To use an old saying of the Han people, the Yasha Langtai Family’s ambition is ’Sima Zhao’s heart—known to all passersby.’”

”In these two years, the power of our other three families has been rapidly eroded. Eliminating us is only a matter of time.”

”If we let them obtain the Demon Kingdom treasure under the Great Snow Mountain, we are completely finished.”

”So this time I came here, although I was deliberately sent away by them, I am also looking for an opportunity to contact powerful allies.”

After listening to Pagyi Gesang’s explanation, Zhang Yi couldn’t help but nod.

Where there are people, there is struggle, that much is certainly true.

”I have a few questions I’d like to ask you.”

Zhang Yi said calmly.

Pagyi Gesang quickly replied, ”Please, go ahead.”

Zhang Yi said, ”First, if the Yasha Langtai Family truly possesses an Epsilon existence. Then eliminating you all is just something that can be done in passing.”

”As far as I know, due to its special nature, the Southwest Region does not possess the launch authority for the Death Reaper of Love.”

”Then that Epsilon is an invincible existence in the world.”

”So why do you all still exist safely?”

Pagyi Gesang let out a deep sigh.

”It’s a long story. Although the Lord of the Charnel Ground belongs to the Yasha Langtai Family. However, successive Lords of the Charnel Ground have possessed the purest hearts and the most devout Buddha-nature.”

”They do not kill innocents indiscriminately, but are the Dharma-protecting deities of the Snowy Plateau people.”

”Therefore, unless Deji finds a suitable reason, he cannot persuade the Lord of the Charnel Ground to eliminate our three families.”

”However, because the Lord of the Charnel Ground is too pure, one day he might be bewitched by Deji. Mr. Chaos, you don’t know, we tread on thin ice every day, fearing that we will wake up the next day to find the Yasha Langtai Family’s army at our gates.”

This point made Zhang Yi very curious.

A pure person?

How pure can he be?

”The second question. Why choose me?”

Zhang Yi asked his biggest doubt.

”If you just want to seek outside help, then without a doubt, the Shengjing Region is the best choice.”

”With their strength, they could easily suppress the Southwest Region.”

Pagyi Gesang smiled and shook his head.

”If it were a last resort, that might be my choice.”

He pointed outside, ”Look, I brought a large number of close followers this time. My motorcade is very large, not because I intentionally want to flaunt wealth.”

A flash of understanding lit up in Zhang Yi’s eyes.

”You want to come here to take refuge?”

Pagyi Gesang nodded helplessly.

”That is indeed one consideration. I need to transfer a portion of my assets in advance. If it really becomes untenable to stay in the Snowy Plateau Region, I will apply for protection from Shengjing.”

”But I will not let the Shengjing Region get involved in the struggle within the Southwest Region.”

”Because once this behemoth joins the struggle in the Southwest Region, it will completely destroy our thousand-year foundation.”

Zhang Yi certainly understood this point.

The Shengjing Region is still the nominal big brother of the Huaxu Kingdom.

If they discovered the secret of the Great Snow Mountain, they would definitely intervene.

After all, Shengjing has already gained sufficient benefits from the Qinling Mountains; they know what discovering an underground secret realm means.

At that time, Shengjing would directly take over the Great Snow Mountain.

Even though the forces of the Southwest Region would also get a share of the pie, they would only get a small portion.

After all, everything underground belongs to the entire Huaxu Kingdom; the great chieftains of the West have no right to possess it.

Leaving them a small share would already be an immense favor.

Pagyi Gesang said, ”Seeking help from other major regions follows the same logic. Collisions between major regions bring too many troubles, and the consequences are difficult to control.”

As he spoke, he looked at Zhang Yi with a burning gaze.

”However, you, sir, are different. Although you are a part of the Jiangnan Region, I know you are not subordinate to the Jiangnan Region’s headquarters.”

”You are an independent individual, like a mercenary.”

”Then you, in the name of a freelancer, come to help me. This can minimize the impact!”

So that was Pagyi Gesang’s idea.

Zhang Yi also understood now, no wonder after arriving in Shengjing, Pagyi Gesang’s attitude towards him had been particularly enthusiastic.

Especially the way he looked at him, it was like he had discovered some treasure.

Zhang Yi smiled faintly.

”You’re that sure? What if I take everything, leaving you with nothing but an empty basket?”

Pagyi Gesang smiled confidently:

”What you want is not power, land, or subjects. I’ve investigated your information, I’m very clear about that.”

”As long as it’s not those things, I don’t care. Even if you take away the treasure under the Great Snow Mountain, I won’t suffer much loss.”

”I can not get it, but as long as the Yasha Langtai Family doesn’t get it, that’s fine.”

Pagyi Gesang wasn’t ignorant of the principle of ’letting a wolf into the house.’

But right now, there is a fierce tiger in his own home watching him covetously; he has no choice.

Either leave the Southwest Region and become a stray dog.

Or find a powerful helper and take a gamble.

Even if he fails, the worst outcome can’t be much worse than the current situation.

Zhang Yi lowered his head in contemplation. He had to admit, he was indeed somewhat tempted.

If there really existed a secret realm similar to the Qinling Mountains and Mist Valley under the Great Snow Mountain, it would absolutely be a huge treasure trove for him.

Moreover, if over two thousand years ago, King Gesar could suppress the power of the Demon Kingdom.

That might indicate the danger level of this secret realm is far lower than that of the Qinling Mountains and Mist Valley.
