Ice Age Apocalypse: I Hoard Billions of Supplies

Totoro’s language is incomprehensible to humans. Zhang Yi once had Lu Keran try to make a translation device for it.

But for such a special species, there isn’t enough data, and its speech is difficult to understand.

They could only slowly analyze and understand through its usual cries.

So Zhang Yi was a bit curious about Frog’s words.

”How did you know?”

Frog said with a smile—actually, due to Frog’s appearance, it always looks like it’s smiling: ”Ribbit! I told you, music can directly reach the heart. I can understand what it just said.”

”Oh, what did it say then?”

Zhang Yi sat cross-legged, his face full of curiosity.

Frog said: ”Sacrificial, spirit.”

Zhang Yi frowned in thought for a moment, then suddenly had an epiphany.

”You mean, that purple crystal?”

Frog spread its hands: ”I don’t know either, I just sensed its meaning through the music.”

Totoro also started calling out, a cry that sounded somewhat familiar to Zhang Yi.

It seemed that ever since returning from beneath the Qinling Mountains, it often called out like that.

Zhang Yi hadn’t paid much attention at the time, thinking it was just hungry.

He never expected it was actually reminding Zhang Yi what that thing was.

Zhang Yi put on his slippers and stood up, placing both hands on Totoro’s shoulders.

”Totoro, do you know how to use that thing?”

Totoro looked at Zhang Yi. Facing Zhang Yi’s sincere gaze, it blinked twice, then tilted its head.

”Ah?”

Zhang Yi: ”...”

Language was still impossible to communicate with; Totoro simply didn’t understand what he was saying.

Zhang Yi was rather speechless and could only say to Frog, ”Frog, I’ll have to trouble you to play with our Totoro more often from now on. If you hear it say anything again, tell me, okay?”

”Ribbit ribbit! Okay, my friend!”

Frog said with a smile.

Zhang Yi thought for a moment, then took out two Ground Centipedes from his Dimensional Space. He handed one to Totoro and one to Frog.

Totoro was very happy; that Ground Centipede was twice its size.

But it lifted the Ground Centipede’s long body with both hands, cutely opened its big mouth, revealing a mouthful of fangs.

”Crunch!”

The Ground Centipede’s tough body was directly bitten open, green blood splattering everywhere.

Totoro, as easily as eating a cream puff, bit off the Ground Centipede’s flesh and blood.

Thinking of everything Totoro had done in the underground world, Zhang Yi wondered: What exactly is this guy? Its claws and teeth look very sharp, capable of easily boring through underground rock layers. But its combat power isn’t strong.

Frog looked at Zhang Yi strangely: ”Why are you giving me this?”

Zhang Yi looked up at Frog and smiled: ”A little gift I brought back for you. Its superhuman ability index is at least over 9000 points. Absorbing it will make you stronger.”

Frog spread its hands and shook its head: ”Oh, my friend. I’m not interested in getting stronger.”

Zhang Yi said: ”Some things, you might not need, but it’s good to have them. Getting stronger is never a bad thing. And the meat of this bug tastes pretty good!”

Frog thought about it, ”Alright, what you say makes some sense. Thank you for the gift!”

Frog accepted the squad leader level Ground Centipede Zhang Yi gave him.

As for Frog’s strength, Zhang Yi wasn’t clear.

Frog was a pacifist and hadn’t really taken action much during the previous Cockroach Swarm incident.

Most of the time, he liked to lie in the mud at the bottom of the lake and sleep.

Although Zhang Yi hadn’t known Frog for long, he liked this guy.

Such carefree people are always easy to infect those around them, and they made Zhang Yi feel happy too.

...

In the next few days, the busiest person was still Lu Keran.

All the things Zhang Yi brought back from beneath the Qinling Mountains had to be processed by her.

The elemental ore was easier to handle; they just needed to process the ore to refine pure Elemental Stones.

However, how to use this new energy substance would also take time to research.

Additionally, there was researching the use method of that purple crystal, the sacrificial spirit.

During these times, Zhang Yi was always there assisting the whole time, to avoid any accidents.

After several days of research, Lu Keran finally found a way to release the energy within it and guide it out.

It was a very complex energy body because it contained the power of ”emotion.”

A sacrificial spirit the size of an arm, after being guided out by complex instruments and equipment, actually filled dozens of huge energy storage containers.

”Brother, the energy inside this crystal is similar to the Divine Source and the source sprites. But... it’s not exactly the same.”

After experimental analysis, Lu Keran came to this conclusion.

Zhang Yi rubbed his chin: ”So, it’s good stuff then?”

Lu Keran nodded: ”As an energy body, there shouldn’t be any negative elements within.”

After confirming there was no danger, Zhang Yi began to try absorbing this energy.

He placed his arm on the receiver.

In just an instant, an indescribable, mysterious feeling instantly enveloped Zhang Yi.

Vast, surging energy poured into his body, but the feeling was different from absorbing superhuman origin before.

While absorbing that power, he suddenly felt the surrounding space and time stagnate.

Zhang Yi slowly turned his head to look around; everything around him had stopped moving.

The clock on the table, the movement of Lu Keran’s hands, even the dust floating in the air.

Zhang Yi tilted his head, unclear about what was happening.

However, the next moment, chaotic noises suddenly erupted in his world.

Everything he saw before his eyes turned into light and shadow, being rapidly pulled backward.

With a whoosh, he entered a pure white world.

Strand after strand of emotions, like film strips, crisscrossed this pure white world.

A feeling of swelling and pain appeared in Zhang Yi’s head. He seemed to have gained many, many memories, but those memories were blurry.

Sometimes he was happy, sometimes he was sad.

It was as if in a short instant, he had experienced ten thousand years.

Indescribable, unable to say whether it was sadness or joy, all sorts of emotions mixed together, leaving one at a loss.

After who knows how long, these emotions slowly faded.

When Zhang Yi opened his eyes again, what he saw was that in the vast white space, countless white, fluffy balls of light had suddenly appeared.

He stood where he was, not making any rash moves, feeling like all of this was a dream.

Zhang Yi thought to himself: ”Maybe accepting some special energy body has made me hallucinate like I’m poisoned.”

Although he had never eaten hallucinogenic mushrooms, Zhang Yi was certain his mind must have been affected, plunging him into some special state.

After who knows how long, everything before Zhang Yi’s eyes gradually disappeared.

He returned to the real world.

That pure and strange energy flowed into his body. It wasn’t surging or hot, but it made him feel his body had undergone some inexplicable change.

Stronger. His superhuman ability index had increased by at least 3000 points!

But these were not what Zhang Yi cared about most.
