Ice Age Apocalypse: I Hoard Billions of Supplies

Zhang Yi sat in the vehicle, discussing their plans for after entering the Snowy Plateau with those around him.

They had talked about many things countless times, but it was still a habit to reconfirm them once more, avoiding any oversights.

”After entering the Snowy Plateau, our first task is to verify whether the so-called Demon Kingdom treasure is real. We won’t be working for free; if there aren’t sufficient benefits, we’ll retreat immediately and let them fight amongst themselves.”

”If the first condition is met, then the most important thing we need to do next is gather intelligence on that legendary figure, the Lord of the Charnel Ground.”

Mentioning this, Zhang Yi’s brows furrowed slightly, clearly showing much more caution.

The Southwest Region was a special area; it did not have the authority to launch the Death Reaper of Love.

Therefore, at present, Epsilon-level superhumans were practically invincible here.

Zhang Yi’s only apprehension was that so-called Heaven-granted Lord of the Charnel Ground.

However, every time he asked, Pagyi Gesang was always vague and evasive.

Without sufficient information for comparison, it was impossible to confirm just how strong the Lord of the Charnel Ground truly was.

Yang Xinxin’s voice came through the communication channel.

”Pagyi Gesang is also wary of us. I’m afraid he will only give us specific intelligence when we actually arrive at the Pagyi Family.”

Zhang Yi nodded. ”That does make sense. It’s just that this Lord of the Charnel Ground is very strange. The so-called ’Heaven-granted’ aspect adds a lot of mystery to him.”

Zhang Yi crossed his arms, his expression grave.

He always showed great respect for opponents whose strength was unclear, not daring to underestimate them in the slightest.

In contrast, Old You in the back seat laughed heartily, his thick arms crossed.

”Why should you be apprehensive about the so-called Heaven-granted? In a sense, aren’t we superhumans all people blessed by heaven?”

Hearing this, Zhang Yi raised an eyebrow. ”That does seem somewhat reasonable. It’s just that he received more, as if it was poured directly into him, filling him up completely.”

Sitting in the passenger seat was Liang Yue, fully armed.

Her Dragon’s Roar saber, sheathed, rested beside her. Hearing the conversation, she said calmly, ”’Pouring’ or ’empowerment’ is originally Buddhist terminology. Practitioners of the esoteric sect can achieve great enlightenment through empowerment. Perhaps it also has a special effect on supernatural abilities, which wouldn’t be strange.”

”After all, even something as unbelievable as reincarnation is explained through them. How much more so other things?”

Thinking of the miraculous Heaven-granted singers and the reincarnating Lord of the Charnel Ground, everyone couldn’t help but feel even more reverence for the mysterious land of the Snowy Plateau.

Only Fatty Xu kept his head down, playing games.

Zhang Yi couldn’t help but shoot him a cold glance. ”Fatty Xu, you’ve been gaming a bit too frequently lately.”

Fatty Xu didn’t even look up. ”Yeah, well, before it was all single-player. Now I finally have a gaming buddy.”

”Huh???”

Everyone, including Hua Hua on Zhang Yi’s lap, turned to look.

Feeling everyone’s odd gazes, Fatty Xu asked, ”Is... is something wrong?”

Zhang Yi looked at him with amusement. ”You said buddy?”

It was the Apocalypse. How many people could still play online games together?

Ordinary people didn’t have the conditions for that, unless they were the small minority with special privileges in the major regions.

Only they had the authority to connect their networks with other regions.

”It’s not Li Yangyang, is it?”

Zhang Yi’s expression turned strange.

Fatty Xu awkwardly scratched his head, though his hand still moved rapidly across the screen.

Don’t let Fatty Xu’s chubby hands fool you; his screen-tapping speed was not slow.

”Sort of.”

Everyone was speechless.

You know she... well, let’s use ”she” for now, because using ”he” always feels really perverse.

You know she’s a femboy, and you can just act like nothing happened?

Fatty Xu explained, ”It’s not easy to find a gaming buddy you get along with. Besides...”

His face flushed red. ”She often sends me photos of her wearing little skirts. Heh, don’t say it, but they’re actually quite pretty.”

Holy crap!

Zhang Yi felt goosebumps all over.

Are femboys really that enticing?!

Gritting his teeth, he glared at the road ahead, saying word by word, ”Since you like it so much, why don’t you just go to the Shengjing Region and find her?”

Fatty Xu sighed. ”Ah, forget it. I think this way of interacting is pretty good. Why do we have to be together in real life?”

Zhang Yi slapped his forehead. Now he finally understood.

A hopeless otaku, huh? They can even marry 2D characters, so interacting with a femboy online and using some imagination to hypnotize themselves is even more normal.

But when it comes to meeting in real life, he chickens out.

”Fine, fine, as expected of you, Chunlei Xu!”

Zhang Yi curled his lip. As for Fatty Xu, as long as this kid didn’t go crazy and betray him for a woman... or a femboy, then he could do whatever he wanted.

Just then, Liang Yue in the passenger seat suddenly widened her eyes, looking ahead in disbelief.

She pointed a finger forward, her voice somewhat excited.

”Look, everyone look! Buddha’s light!”

Everyone’s attention shifted from Fatty Xu, and they all looked into the distance.

On the endless snow plain, their small snow vehicle was as insignificant as an ant. In the distance, the continuous snow-capped mountains lay like a sleeping dragon, towering tall between heaven and earth.

And right above those snow-capped mountains, a dazzling cyan radiance suddenly rose, enveloping the mountain peaks like a solar halo.

Zhang Yi’s pupils slowly dilated.

In his life, he had never seen such beautiful brilliance.

With his limited vocabulary, he couldn’t describe the magnificence of this light. He only felt that a single glance made his mood joyful, as if all the gloom in his heart had been swept away.

The tension and worry about entering the Snowy Plateau also vanished in an instant.

The edges of that cyan light seemed to have a faint layer of gold, spanning across the snow-capped mountains, ethereal, sacred, and carrying a touch of emptiness.

Zhang Yi had many words on the tip of his tongue, but in the end, he swallowed them all back.

He didn’t believe in any particular religion, but he held the principle of ’better to believe it exists than to believe it doesn’t.’

At this moment, it was better to hold a thread of reverence in his heart.

No one spoke. This scene, transmitted through the Shadow Space, was also seen by Yang Xinxin and the others.

Some clasped their hands together in worship, some remained calm and indifferent, and some silently admired.

The vehicle was on autopilot, so they didn’t need to pay attention to anything.

It wasn’t until some time later that the Smart System gave him a reminder, snapping him out of his reverie.

”Biological entity detected. Identified as human.”

Zhang Yi immediately ordered the system to magnify the image.

The tactical visor descended. Before his eyes, the scene several kilometers away was rapidly zoomed in, closer and closer.

Then, he saw a sight he would find extremely unforgettable.

In the icy, snowy wilderness, with the cold wind howling, the temperature on the Snowy Plateau was even lower than in the Northern Regions’ Shengjing.

Yet, on the vast, majestic mountain path, there was a man with long, loose hair. He wore only a thin pair of cotton trousers, his upper body bare, his feet bare. Slowly but resolutely, he was performing full-body prostrations along the snowy mountain trail.
