Dragon Monarch System

Chapter 941: Chapter 941:- Fifth Stage Guardian

’It seems I have to decide once I am done with this Trial.’ Seeing Aditya in deep thought, Frank knew he had pushed him in the right direction. This was the best for his tribe’s future and the Future of the Celestial Dragon Empire.

[If you need support in this war, on behalf of my Tribe, I promise, we will do everything in our power to support you. But we are not as powerful as we once were.]

[There was a time when we were as strong as the Celestial Dragon Empire.] - Frank looked nostalgic and also sad.

[So you will need more support when the time comes.]

Hearing this, Aditya simply nodded his head.

He also knew that to grow stronger, he would need to go to the Main Continent sooner or later. He cannot remain stuck at the Peak 5th-order.

It was simply undeniable that with the Rapid Rise of the Istarin Empire, his cousin would find out about him. Even if he tries to suppress the truth or claim to be someone else with the same name as their Exiled Crown Prince, it won’t work then.

Frank did not disturb the Young Monarch anymore. He let him rest for the next round.

Aditya closed his eyes and tried to calm his mind. But he couldn’t cultivate. His mind wasn’t at ease anymore.

So he simply spent the remaining minutes making various strategies for the next phase of the trial.

[Now the fifth Stage will begin.]

Hearing this, he opened his eyes and stood up with the Raiketsu.

[Brace yourself. This will be the most brutal battle.] - Frank hoped to see this young man reach the final Stage of the Trial. If even he fails, then Frank has no idea who else could? Countless geniuses came here to conquer the trial, but they all failed and had to leave this place in disappointment.

This place gave everyone one chance. Regardless of the identity of the person, no one shall be given a second chance. And the rules of the trial cannot be broken.

Suddenly, darkness enveloped the entire space. The Dragon Monarch could not see anything but darkness all around him. He couldn’t even expand his senses and feel Frank’s presence close to him.

[Although the rules of the Trial state that the challenger may never be killed, this guy is so ferocious that he has killed many challengers.]

[Nearly 150 trial challengers from different eras reached the Fifth Stage, only to die in front of this Monster.] This made Aditya’s expression harden. To think the danger was so high that even the administrator or the creator of this place was warning to be careful.

[Still, I will do my best to save your life. But do know that there are still high chances that you will be killed before I can save you.] Hearing this, he just nodded his head and waited.

Almost 99% time, Frank failed to save the challengers from being killed by this thing.

[It’s not that I’m purposely pushing this thing to end your life; I am just following the rules of this place. No one is an exception to the rules that govern this sub-space.]

[As I said earlier, the difficulty of the challenge must be increased with each stage. The lower Stage cannot be more difficult than the Higher stage. So this thing is the only candidate that can raise the difficulty of this challenge.]

Aditya nodded his head in understanding. He had no complaints.

If he could be shaken this easily, then he never would have made it this far. From an alcohol addict to the Dragon Monarch Emperor, he had come all this way by meeting every challenge head-on, with a heart that refused to break.

Even before it emerged, Aditya felt its terrifying presence. Its presence itself sent a chill down his spine. It was like a warning of the calamity that was about to resurface after many centuries.

About 100 meters away from him, a pair of red glowing eyes opened.

The moment those big red glowing eyes opened, a chaotic pressure descended on Aditya. The pressure was so strong that for a second, he felt like he couldn’t move. He felt like he was bound to one position by the sheer weight of this creature’s Aura.

’Too Strong!’ A drop of sweat rolled down his forehead. It wasn’t fear or nervousness. His body simply reacted on its own from straining under a pressure so heavy that even his dragon physique felt the burden.

Slowly, a gigantic figure enveloped in darkness rose.

Its height far exceeded Aditya’s.

In fact, it was so tall that he felt like a toddler in front of it.

The behemoth stood 12 meters (39.3 ft), making Aditya, who was only around 1.8 meters (6 ft), look like a small figure standing before a giant statue carved by ancient gods.

Then the darkness dispersed.

The battlefield itself had changed. But his eyes were on his opponent, who towered over him.

[It’s Called the Abyssal Obsidian Golem.]

[In some ways, you can say that this thing is the greatest thing I have created in my whole life.]

[But it’s not entirely my creation. We found something strange deep under Soulripper Mountain. What we discovered was a strange black mineral cluster. We called it Abyssal Obsidian, a material formed from the remains of thousands of dead elemental beasts, compressed together by the earth over millions of years.]

”To you, it’s beautiful, but to me it’s nothing but a walking calamity that shouldn’t exist.”

Hearing this, Frank forced a smile and replied. [When I created it first, I lost control, and it acted on its own and killed 2,700+ dwarven warriors from my own tribe before I stopped it. Even now, it’s not entirely under my control. I merely have the means to keep it in a slumber until it’s time for the next battle.]

’No wonder his tribe didn’t use this Golem outside.’ Aditya thought to himself. Once this apocalypse is released outside, it won’t stop until everything is left in ruins.

[The most terrifying part about this thing is the fact that it can learn and grow from experience. Every fight helps it grow stronger.]

[Most importantly, every single one of those deaths made the Golem smarter. Every mistake, every spell, every fighting style, the Abyssal Obsidian learned from all of it. This is why we dwarves fear it more than any other thing that we have ever created.]

Aditya carefully looked at the Abyssal Obsidian Golem, or the Obsidian Golem.

’And here I thought the only thing Golem is good for is carrying heavy weights or tanking attacks.’ This Golem was nothing like what he imagined Golems to be.

The Abyssal Obsidian Golem stood massive, unmoving, and terrifyingly solid. Its full height reached 12 meters (39.3 ft).

Its entire body was made of thick, black obsidian plates. These plates overlapped like armour, with thin glowing cracks of molten light running underneath. And these motlen light running underneath the cracks pulsed slowly as if they had a heartbeat of fire.

Every few seconds, hot steam slipped out from the gaps between its plates.

The Golem’s limbs were thick and heavy. Each arm was longer than Aditya’s entire body, and each hand was large enough to crush him with a single grip. The Golem’s legs were like pillars, wide enough that even three grown men couldn’t wrap their arms around one.

Its joints were wrapped in old runic rings. Each of the rings glowed faintly with ancient, mysterious symbols. Even as a Genius Runemaster, he couldn’t understand a single thing about these symbols.

Even while standing still, it exerted powerful pressure. The air around it felt heavier. The ground slightly cracked under its weight.

’It’s a small fortress rather than a living creature.’

[Before you begin, there is one rule to this stage.]

Aditya looked at Frank for a moment.

He was still sitting on a chair and calmly watching everything.

But the small smile on his face gave him a bad feeling.

[600 seconds only! What this means is, you have exactly 10 minutes to defeat this Golem. After that, the opponent becomes permanently invincible.] Hearing this, Aditya couldn’t stay calm.

Even he wasn’t sure if he could defeat this thing within 10 minutes.

”Can’t you add some more time?”

Frank shook his head. [Every Stage comes with certain rules. This is the designed rule of the Fifth Stage, which was meant to be the final stage of this trial. The thing is, by placing the Abyssal Obsidian Golem in the fifth stage, we hoped to create a stage that no one could clear. Even the Rule was added to make things even harder.]

Hearing this, Aditya rolled his eyes. He felt very annoyed now. But there was nothing he could do.

’Aditya, this Golem was initially sealed away because we couldn’t do anything with it. We, dwarves, sealed it away as the Fifth Stage Guardian because it was too dangerous to release or destroy. I really hope you can win against it.’ The Golem had become too intelligent. It was intelligent enough to recognise weapons, make strategies in battle, learn and adapt amidst an ongoing battle. This made the dwarves fear it.

The Abyssal Obsidian Golem took its first step.

Boom...!!!

The entire battlefield trembled. Dust rose from the ground like a ripple of smoke, and even the air felt heavier for a split second. The ground beneath formed small craters along with cracks spreading in all directions.

Aditya instinctively took a step back as the shockwave hit his body.

’It’s weight... It’s insane. It must weigh more than 25 tons. Maybe even more.’

The Golem’s glowing cracks pulsed once. The pulse was slow and steady, like the heartbeat of some ancient monster awakening from a long slumber.

Then it took another step forward.

Boom...!!!

The ground under its feet cracked in a wide circle, and then molten light leaked out from the fractures before cooling into obsidian again.

The battlefield itself was reacting to its presence.

The Golem raised its head.

The molten glow beneath its obsidian plates brightened, casting a crimson-orange tint across the battlefield.

At the same time, its runic rings rotated slowly, one after another.

Each ring spun like gears of an ancient machine awakening from centuries of silence.

Aditya tightened his grip on Raiketsu.

The sword felt too small in his hands now.

Like bringing a wooden stick to fight a calamity, he was also used to fighting with a heavy sword. This sword was light as a feather.

’This should certainly raise my agility.’

’But my sword attacks won’t be as strong as before.’ That was the downside to using this Katana.

Hufff...!!!

He exhaled slowly while forcing his hands to relax around the hilt.

The Colossal Giant didn’t move again. It simply stared at him while remaining motionless, silent, but radiating enough killing intent to suffocate a mortal to death.

’Alright... let’s see how you handle this.’ For now, his intention was to test the waters while keeping a distance from the Monster. He did not know much about this Golem. Given the fact that he was still injured and had limited time, this felt like the right choice.

Crimson flames erupted from his palms.

Crimson Fire Blast!!!

A massive wave of searing crimson fire surged across the battlefield. The heat distorted the air. The flames tore through the cracked ground and swallowed the Obsidian Beast whole.

BOOOOOM!!!

Dust and fire shot upward like a volcanic eruption. But that wasn’t enough. He could feel it.

Aditya didn’t wait for the smoke to clear. He quickly used Crimson Wrap Flash to teleport to another location.

Swoosh!!

He appeared on the opposite side of the battlefield.

’It won’t die that easily. But even this thing should at least take some damage...’ Or at least that’s what he hoped would happen.

But when the smoke thinned and the flame died down, His eyes widened in a mix of surprise and shock.

The behemoth just stood there. Unmoved from its position. Despite its body being made black from Obsidian plates, he could see no sign of any damage to its body.

Not only unharmed, but its molten cracks were glowing even brighter, as if it had eaten the flames.

’It... absorbed it?’ Aditya wasn’t entirely sure yet.

Before his shock settled, the monster inhaled.

HSSSSSSS!!!

A wave of heat burst out from its obsidian plates, twice as hot as before.

’So it really IS absorbing it.’ He could not understand how a Mere Golem is even capable of doing such a feat.

He clicked his tongue and raised his hand again.

”Fine. Let’s try something else?”

A sphere of Crimson lightning formed above his palm. The Sphere was glowing brightly like a miniature red sun.

In less than a second, the Crimson Lightning Sphere split into hundreds, then thousands of lightning bolts.

Azure Thunderstorm!!!

A rain of Crimson lightning crashed down on the Golem from every direction. The attack destroyed the ground around the Golem. A whole part of the battlefield was getting destroyed by powerful Lightning strikes.

Crack! Crack! Crack!!!

The light was so bright that the entire battlefield turned white.

Aditya silently watched the result of his work. He had some hope, but even if it did not work, he was prepared for something else.

Aditya saw something that once again froze him with shock.

The lightning bent toward its body the moment it struck. It was as if something inside the monster was pulling every bolt in.

The obsidian plates flickered once, and in the next instant, all the electricity was grounded straight into the earth beneath its feet. The brief flash of light faded, and the entire battlefield sank back into the darkness of the night, as if nothing had happened at all.

’What the.....!’ The Golem did not absorb the Lightning as it did with the Crimson Flame. Instead, it released the power of the Crimson Lightning straight to the ground.

The moment lightning hit its obsidian plates, the runic rings around its massive, towering body activated, and the entire electrical charge was channelled downward. The Golem acted like a living lightning rod.

The Dragon Monarch teleported again. This time, to a random location, leaving no patterns for the Golem to follow.

Swoosh!!!

He put distance between them before trying the third option.

He tapped the ground with the heel of his left foot.

”Magma Manipulation—Full Release.”

The entire terrain erupted in molten red.

Lava surged like a tidal wave, swallowing the battlefield and the Golem inside a boiling sea.

But then that wasn’t enough as he noticed something inside the magma moving. Its gigantic, towering body slowly emerged.

The Towering Behemoth walked slowly and peacefully towards Aditya.

At the same time, the lava began to flow toward it.

The Lava that had covered the entire battlefield and turned it into a molten lava ocean was now shrinking rapidly. The red molten was being pulled towards the Golem from all directions.

’It’s absorbing the Lava.’

The monster rose from the magma like a demon reborn. Its molten cracks were now blazing brighter than before.

Its runic rings spun faster than ever. Steam roared from the cracks of its body.

There was no doubt about it. He could feel it clearly.

After absorbing the Crimson Flame and the Lava, the Abyssal Obsidian Behemoth had grown even stronger now.

Really, thank you very much to all those who sent support with valuable golden tickets and gifts. I hope we can keep it up!!!
