Dragon Monarch System

Chapter 940: Chapter 940:- He Who Should Rule

It has been hours since Aditya went outside. Even though he had told her that it would take him at least a day or multiple days, she still couldn’t help but feel worried.

The Trial had a reputation as one of the toughest challenges in the world. So far, countless people have taken part in the trial in hopes of clearing it, but no one has ever reached the last stage, which speaks volumes about how tough it is.

’I hope he is doing well.’ Laura thought to herself while lying on the bed.

’I mean, obviously, he must be doing well. He is the Dragon Monarch after all.’ Laura tried to calm herself.

’He is still a Peak 4th-order cultivator, yet he could outmatch a Peak 5th-order cultivator almost in every aspect.’

’And last I checked, his realm is an inch away from breaking through. It’s like he is purposely suppressing his cultivation from advancing to the 5th-order Realm.’ So if needed, he could make a breakthrough within the trial.

But that still did not calm her down.

To calm her mind, she tried to cultivate.

She thought she would be able to keep herself distracted and keep cultivating until he knocked on the door.

But when she closed her eyes to cultivate, her mind could not stop thinking about him.

She had no choice but to give up on cultivating.

While thinking about the Trial, she couldn’t help but wonder something.

”I wonder if there is any book containing information about the challenges one would face in each level.”

Sitting up, she looked outside the window.

”There has to be.” Knowing that such a book would fetch a really high price, one might have existed. Maybe the general public might not know about it. Maybe the copies of the book are being sold on the black market.

”But it’s too late.” He was currently fighting to reach the top. And a person only gets one chance to enter the trial.

Sigh...!!!

’I should have thought of this sooner.’

”Most importantly....!”

”What does that kiss on the forehead mean?” Before leaving, he had kissed her forehead and left without saying anything.

This was the first time she was kissed.

For as long as she was alive, she had never allowed any male to touch her inappropriately.

In the Deep Sea Ocean, no one dared to touch her, knowing her background.

Also, some suitors had done some slightly extreme things, which greatly displeased her. She had set an example for others by mercilessly killing them and leaving their bodies hanging at the entrance of the cities so that everyone could see the consequences.

Laura took pride in the knowledge that she had accumulated over the years. She took pride in her intelligence. She prided herself on being one of the sharpest minds in the Empire. But when it came to matters of love and relationships, even her great mind was lacking and inexperienced.

The Goddess had never experienced Love before. She never even had a crush on anyone.

All that she knew about love, marriage, and relationships mainly came from reading books.

And Aditya’s actions left me very confused. She did not know what to think of his actions.

’But becoming his wife doesn’t sound bad.....!!!’ Her mind began thinking of living in the Dragon Palace with other girls. She couldn’t help but imagine herself doing intimate things with Aditya.

’Stop...!!!’ Laura hurriedly stopped her mind. Her mind was imagining too much.

”I should stop before these unhealthy thoughts corrupt my heart.” Laura still stood by what she told others.

She wasn’t ready to share her man with any other girl. And Aditya already had many girls around him.

’I am not changing my stance.’ If needed, she didn’t mind staying single for her entire life. She never really needed a man.

But she also knew and accepted the fact that the path of cultivation is a very long one. And without a partner, this journey will be extremely lonely.

’Whatever!’ She felt more and more confused.

The more she thought to herself, the more confused her mind grew. For the first time, she had faced a situation where she couldn’t make a decision.

She wanted to stand by what she always wanted, but at the same time, she felt her stance was shaking and her resolve was growing weaker.

Scene Change___

After a minute and a half, the urge to throw up started to die down. But by this point, he was feeling extra mental strain. He also noticed that despite the pills and potions being of the same quality as before, it was taking him longer to heal his injuries and recover his Mana and Stamina.

’At this rate, forget about winning the Last Stage. I am not sure if I can even clear the Fifth Stage.’ Aditya no longer felt confident.

’The only way I could go even further would be by breaking through.’

He had no plans of breaking into the Fifth Order, at least not in the Trial. But before coming here, he also had a feeling that the opponents that he would face here would force him to break into a higher Realm; otherwise, he couldn’t defeat everyone while protecting Laura.

’This trial was more of a test to find out the true extent of my power.’ He felt it had already 80% served its purpose.

’This stage will be my last fight as a Peak 4th-order cultivator.’

Anyways, the multiple stages of the trials have taught him many new things. The experience of fighting under different rules and unique opponents has further refined his fighting style and techniques.

[Seeing that you have made it to the 5th stage, I will give you 10 minutes to recover.] Frank summoned two chairs for him and Aditya to sit.

[Please sit! I want to ask a few more questions.]

Frank was just a shell of his former self. His real self was already dead.

All this time, he was stuck in this place. He decided to stay here and oversee all the trials’ operations.

Although the trial is mostly automated, he still chose to stay and oversee everything. Sometimes he determined the strength of the opponent and chose the challenge for a challenger. This is what he was doing for Aditya from the second stage.

Dragging his tired body, he walked up to the chair and sat down.

Aditya felt incredibly tired. The exhaustion also brought a wave of laziness that made him not want to get up.

[I can sense that you are at the edge of breaking through 5th-order. Why not do it?]

[Once you break through, this whole challenge will be much easier for you.] - Frank was very interested in Aditya. Even back in their time, he had never seen anyone as talented as this young man.

”I entered this trial to see how far I can push myself.”

”I am not expecting to clear the sixth round and become the first person to clear the trial. I just want to challenge myself.” As someone who could defeat anyone in the Six Continents, Aditya had felt his growth had become stagnant. Before, he was constantly facing stronger opponents, but these days, barely anyone in the Six Continent could give him a challenge. He didn’t want to push himself to a higher Realm without maximising his strength in this Realm.

From the beginning, he has been doing this.

Hearing this answer, Frank nodded with a thoughtful look.

’Not only is he powerful, but he is also very thoughtful and intelligent.’ Frank knew that if he were in Aditya’s position, he would have long pushed himself to reach a Higher Realm. But it seems he wasn’t in a hurry; instead, he was waiting for the right opportunity and right moment to maximise his gains when he would break through.

’With him, the Celestial Dragon Empire is in safe hands.’

[I don’t know if this will interest you or not, but in recent months, someone from the Celestial Dragon Empire was sent to us.] Seeing Aditya looking at him, Frank couldn’t help but smirk inside. Although this young man showed that he didn’t care about that Empire, deep down, he still had attachments towards that place.

”I guess they requested your people to make some kind of artifact or Weapon.”

’I guess the new King made that order.’ It wasn’t difficult to connect the dots.

But Frank shook his head and replied. [Well, you are half correct.]

[They wanted the current Dwarf King to Head to the Capital of the Celestial Dragon Empire and make some adjustments to the Crown and Throne of the Empire.]

Hearing this, Aditya immediately frowned.

[It seems you have guessed it.]

[When I made that throne and Crown, I added runes so that no unworthy being can ever become the Ruler of the Celestial Dragon Empire.]

[So your current Ruler is a fake. He cannot sit on the Throne or wear the Crown, which is why he sent his closet people to us.]

’This means my old man didn’t willingly pass the Position to my cousin.’

’What exactly happened to the Empire after I was sent to exile?’

”What happened then?” He wanted to know the full story before making any conclusions.

[The Current Generation Dwarf King or any of the elders doesn’t have the power to change or adjust the runes that I added on the Crown and the Throne. He just said the truth.]

The next Second, Frank’s expression darkened.

[The Emperor’s men threatened my people. They told us to keep our mouths shut, and this matter must not be known to anyone.] As he was saying, he looked angry. When he was alive, his people were one of the strongest and most feared across the entire World. No one dared to threaten them.

But now, after tens of thousands of years, his tribe have declined. Seeing his people this weak left his heart in pain.

[I am already a dead man. So I am not interested in knowing what changes are happening around the world. But time to time, I meet the Dwarf King and have a chat with him regarding the Tribe’s future.]

[I don’t know what is happening in your Empire, but one thing is for sure: the new King is no good.]

[If left unchecked, then this could well be the beginning of something that will cause a lot of bloodshed.]

[I don’t know what happened and why you were exiled. But one thing is clear, right now, there is no one who is more worthy than you to be the Ruler of the Celestial Dragon Empire.]

Before, Aditya would have straight-up refused to have any ties with the Celestial Dragon Empire. But knowing the current state of the Empire, he was starting to have doubts about his previous stance.

”Even if I want to become the King, I need support. I just cannot go to the Capital and demand my cousin to give up the position of the King.” This was simply unrealistic. Not to mention, he was also the Emperor of the Istarin Empire.

[Well then, start preparing for war.]

Hearing this, he frowned a little.

[Once your cousin learns that you are this talented and strong, he won’t allow you to live long enough to reach the 7th Order. He would definitely try to eliminate you before you could become even stronger.]

[It’s either you take the fight to him or wait until one day, which will come sooner than later, to declare war on you.]

’I hadn’t considered this possibility.’ The fact that he was unworthy of sitting on the Throne or wearing the Crown says everything that he needed to know about his cousin’s true Character.

’It seems his gentle personality deceived me.’ He couldn’t blame himself, as Aditya was really foolish and very naive.

’It seems I have to make a decision once I am done with this Trial.’

Really, thank you very much to all those who sent support with valuable golden tickets and gifts. I hope we can keep it up!!!
