Dragon Monarch System

Chapter 909:- Followers

Following the receptionist, a very beautiful woman with deep orange hair walked down the stairs.

ʼSo she is the manager.ʼ

Aditya felt this woman was very mysterious and also very powerful.

Among all the Auras of the cultivators that he felt today since arriving in the Tunnel World, this woman had the most potent and powerful Aura of all.

ʼShe isnʼt doing anything to hide or suppress her Aura. Even a non-sensory cultivator could sense her powerful Aura from up close.ʼ Aditya felt this woman was purposely doing this.

He didnʼt sense her Aura when he first stepped inside the building or when he was talking to the receptionist. But as she walked down, she stopped suppressing her Aura to let her presence be known to everyone.

ʼIf sheʼs trying to intimidate me?ʼ Aditya looked at her.

As their eyes met, the woman gave him a small, warm smile.

She wasnʼt doing this to intimidate him. No, Aditya quickly realised this was something else. This was a silent movie. It was a way of letting her presence be known without speaking a single word.

She didnʼt aggressively flare her Aura. There was no killing intent, no arrogance.

But the weight of her presence was undeniable. She allowed her Aura to spread freely, like a gentle wave, and yet it carried enough pressure that even someone without any sensory abilities would still feel it in their bones.

She knew what she was doing.

This was her way of saying—ʼI am not below you.ʼ

Aditya didnʼt miss the message. She had chosen to reveal her strength at just the right moment. Not when he entered, not when he was speaking to the receptionist, but now, as she walked down to meet him directly. It wasnʼt just about him. It was for everyone else in the building to feel it too.

She was someone who could not be ignored.

She was someone not to be messed with.

And above all, she understood the power of a strong first impression.

Adityaʼs expression didnʼt change. He stood still, meeting her gaze head-on.

ʼInteresting…ʼ He thought to himself.

Aditya calmly observed her.

The Manager stopped in front of Aditya. She didnʼt need her subordinate to tell her who among them was the rich young master. Just looking at his face, she knew.

ʼInteresting! Most cultivators become alert or get scared when I reveal my Aura to them. Yet, he remained unfazed. Just who is he?ʼ Being in this business meant that Kaoru had seen a ton of outstanding cultivators, both from the Main Continent and also from the Six Continents.

”Itʼs nice to meet you! I am Kaoru Mikazuki.” She extended her hand towards Aditya.

Aditya shook her hand while introducing himself. ”I am Ivan. This is my travelling partner, Jessica.” 1

Laura just nodded her head. Knowing how powerful this woman was, Laura was already on her guard. She tried her best not to show it, but her expression still remained tense. To Kaoru, it was almost like Laura being jealous of her.

”Young Master, itʼs my first time seeing you here. I wonder where you are from?” Kaoru had guessed that these two were from the Six Continents. Most probably, they came from the Dying Isle Continent.

ʼI heard that there have been some huge changes in that continent.ʼ Kaoru thought to herself. She had multiple jobs, which kept her busy and very rarely left her with any free time.

When someone brought up the name of the Dying Isle Continent, another name almost always came to her mind. ʼThe Dragon Monarch, Aditya.ʼ

ʼTheyʼre not from the Istarin Empire, are they?ʼ If they were, then she would need to take them more seriously.

”We are from the Hephaestus Kingdom.” Luckily, Aditya and Laura had thought of these details before entering the Tunnel World.

Before heading out, both of them even forged real documents proving that they were indeed nobles of the Hephaestus Kingdom.

”The Hephaestus Kingdom?” Kaoru closed her eyes.

”This is the first time in many decades that I have had a visitor from that Kingdom.” Kaoru was still suspicious of them but didnʼt show it.

”If I remember correctly, Hephaestus Kingdom used to be an Empire, right?”

”Yeah! But thanks to His Majestyʼs hard work and thanks to all the support that we have received from our allies, our Kingdom will soon become an Empire. We will surpass our previous limits and reach a new height.” Kaoru nodded her head. But deep down, she wanted to say, without the Istarin Empire, the Hephaestus Kingdom might not even exist today.

Kaoru seemed to say something, but then she realised her mistake. ”Ahh...sorry!! Please sit down.”

She quickly turned around and looked at her assistant. ”Aoi, please serve our guests some green tea.”

A young woman with short brown hair nodded and quietly left the room.

But before things could continue, Aditya raised his hand slightly. ”That wonʼt be necessary,” He said with a small smile. ”Weʼre in a bit of a hurry right now.”

Kaoru blinked, then gave him a polite nod. ”I see. Then I wonʼt waste your time.”

Aoi, who had just returned with the tray, paused at the door, unsure whether to enter or not.

”Itʼs alright,” Kaoru said, looking back at her. ”Maybe later.”

The assistant quietly turned away and left.

After a while, Aditya and Laura left.

Kaoru watched them leave from the second-floor window.

”I have to say they are a very interesting couple.”

Aoi, who was standing behind her, also looked at them. ”Couple? I donʼt think they are a couple.”

”From what I observed, it felt like Jessica (Laura) had feelings for Ivan (Aditya)?”

”Whatever! Regardless, they are a big shot.” Aditya ended up exchanging 30 million Royal Gold Coins. The way he casually added 10 million Royal Gold Coins was enough for Kaoru to guess that this person is someone who is connected to the Hephaestus Kingdom.

As Aditya and Laura left, a cleaner came to the guards. Under Kaoru and Aoiʼs watch, they spoke for some time, and then, eventually, the guards looked in the direction of Aditya and Laura.

”Are you not going to stop them? After all, they are nobles of the Hephaestus Kingdom.” Aoi asked in a neutral tone. They have long known that their guards targeted rich but weak cultivators who came to their exchange house.

But Kaoru never did anything to stop them.

”If that man is strong enough, they will survive.”

”But if they are weak, then tomorrow, their bodies will be found outside the city. Either way, itʼs none of my concern.” Kaoru had a feeling that Ivan (Aditya) wasnʼt a weak man. She felt this was true, considering how confidently he stood without any sign of nervousness when she ceased suppressing her Aura.

ʼAnd if he is weak, this means he is simply too good at pretending.ʼ

”That aside, tell our people to watch for anyone from the Istarin Empire.”

”Unfortunately, we donʼt have much information about the Dragon Monarch because he keeps his life private. Even the maids and servants who work at the Dragon Monarch are under a soul-binding contract that prevents them from speaking anything about the Dragon Monarch or his family.”

”My Lady, are you confident against the Dragon Monarch?” Aoi couldnʼt help but ask. Even in this city, the feats of the Dragon Monarch are very well known.

”Well, his ability to teleport anywhere he wants makes him a tricky opponent. But as long as I make preparations, I am confident I could defeat him.”

Kaoru then smirked and added. ”Besides, my mission was never to fight him. My mission is just to report him to the organisation, and they will do the rest of the work.”

”What if the organisation asks you to fight Aditya?” Aoi couldnʼt help but ask.

”Well, I have always wanted to fight the Dragon Monarch. Slaying a Divine Dragon is a dream.”

”Anyways, letʼs not waste any more time.”

Scene Change____

”Donʼt tell them, you havenʼt noticed those guys following us?” Laura was slightly worried. She wouldnʼt have been so worried if this were in the Six Continents. But here, there is no restriction on cultivatorsʼ cultivation.

”I have!” Those guys were following them since they left the exchange house.

Even when they entered the exchange house, they met some people who were giving them hostile gazes. From then on, Aditya had a feeling that they would be followed, mainly because of the huge sum that they exchanged.

”Can you take care of them?” Laura looked at Aditya and asked in a worried tone.

”I donʼt know!” Aditya replied with a smirk.

Laura stopped hearing this but seeing his smirk, she snorted and looked away.

Hmph!!!

ʼThis guy is unbelievable! He is still in the mood to make jokes.ʼ

Really Thank you very much to all those who send support with valuable golden tickets and gifts. I hope we can keep it up!!!

I randomly came up with the name Jessi but then remembered Jessica from Pokemon and decided to go with it.
