Dragon Monarch System

Chapter 902:- Laura and Kate in Deep Sea Palace

Soon, Laura returned to the Deep Sea Palaceʼs capital with her Maid, Kate. Both of them temporarily returned to the capital to prepare for Laura to go on a long journey to the main continent.

Itʼs not known how long she will be gone. The whole thing might require her to stay away from the Deep Sea Palace for weeks, if not months. So, she was making at least 6 monthsʼ worth of planning and preparations so that even in her absence, her loyal maid could run everything with the help of the Istarin Empireʼs prime Minister.

Even though Kate was educated, it was naturally impossible for her to do everything alone. She is going to need help, and a perfect candidate to help her with any problems was the prime minister of the Dragon Monarch.

Not only could Spencer be trusted, but also, given the deep ties between both Empires, there was no need to explain the situation to Spencer. If Kate approached anyone else but him, then she would have no choice but to explain the whole situation. And Laura wants to keep everything secret. Not even her most loyal men and bodyguards should know where she was or what she was doing in this period of absence.

Laura stood by the large window of her bedroom.

The Empress, also known as the Goddess of Wisdom, had a lot going on in her mind. But now her mind was focused on two things: planning and preparing.

Turning around, she called for one of her maids.

It was a young woman named Mira, whom she had hired recently, who quickly stepped forward, bowing respectfully.

”Mira!”

”I want you to arrange a council meeting immediately.”

Hearing this, Mira was surprised. In her one month of working as Lauraʼs maid, she noticed that Laura was the Empress who did not call for the council meeting unless it was absolutely needed.

Laura was different from other Rulers of this Empire. After ascending to the throne, she took strict steps to make sure that all powers were in her hands. She did not give too much power to the ministers and high-ranking officials as she did not fully trust them yet.

Also, Laura believed that regular council meetings were a waste of time. Council meetings should be reserved only when there is an emergency or something urgent, such as this case.

”Shall I inform the ministers, Your Majesty?”

”Not just the ministers,”

”Make sure every council member is present. That includes the Commander of the military. No exceptions.” This time, even the Commander of the Military had to be present since she was going to be away for a while.

Mira nodded, sensing the urgency in her Empressʼs tone. ”Understood. I will send word right away.”

”Good!”

”Tell them this meeting is important. It concerns the future of the Deep Sea Palace.” With a final bow, Mira turned and hurried out of the room to carry out her orders.

When Mira walked out of the bedroom, Kate walked in carrying a glass of juice squeezed from magic fruits. Riya gave her these fruits, saying that feeding the juice of these fruits would be good for Laura.

”What happened?” Kate curiously asked.

Papers and scrolls were scattered all over the bed, some spilling onto the floor.

”I asked for a council meeting,” Laura replied as she sat down on the bed and picked up another piece of paper.

It was a report of the financial budget for the last 3 months. Due to all the new projects that Laura initiated, the expenditure of the Empire has nearly tripled. Now, the Empire was spending almost 3 times the amount of money that it normally spent.

”Why?” Even though Laura stopped showing herself to the public after she was diagnosed with extreme headaches, there has never been any need for any council meeting.

She had very strict control over everything, and no one dared to question her orders. This wasnʼt the case at the beginning, but after months of trying, she managed to clean all the waste and take back all her powers.

”Well, since I am going to be away from the Empire for a while, I plan to make you my representative.”

Kate did not understand. She already worked as Lauraʼs representative.

And no one questioned Kate.

Itʼs not like there was a need to specifically call for a council meeting just to announce this.

Seeing her confused look, Laura began explaining.

”In this council meeting, I will announce that I am going into seclusion to break through to a higher level of cultivation and develop a new skill. During this time, I do not wish to be disturbed. No one is allowed to visit me except my personal maid, Kate.”

”From that point on, all my orders will be delivered through Kate. She will speak on my behalf, and her words will carry my full authority.”

”Additionally, I will finalize some of the ongoing trade agreements during this meeting. I will also approve the budget plan for the next six months to ensure everything runs smoothly in my absence. On top of that, I will pass a new law in which no one except you, Kate, will be allowed access to the treasure vault. Even the Finance Minister must go through you if they wish to enter.”

”But thatʼs not all. Before my retreat, I will address a few more matters. I will assign the military new patrol routes and increase security around the palace. I will also give the spymaster orders to monitor any unusual movements across the region. A backup council will be formed to assist you in handling daily affairs, and I will prepare an emergency protocol for you to follow if any crisis arises.”

”Finally, I will try to leave you with a secure means to contact me if something truly urgent happens. But I donʼt know if itʼs possible. I guess I will need to ask Aditya.” Laura began to think while rubbing her chin. This idea just came to her mind.

If they could communicate, then things would suddenly become a lot easier.

Meanwhile, Kate just stared at Laura. She was beyond amazed.

This is the part of the Goddess of Wisdom. It had only been a few hours since they returned from the Istarin Empire, yet Laura had planned that far. Not only that, but she is also writing down all important things and even leaving her with backup plans.

ʼThis is the Goddess of Wisdom...!!ʼ Suddenly, Kate couldnʼt wait for her Lady to return. When she returned, it would be the full-powered Goddess of Wisdom.

”With everything in place, the Deep Sea Palace will stand strong even without me on the throne.”

”Would you like to add anything?” Laura asked, seeing Kate silent.

But she shook her head.

”I will feel you have already addressed every aspect. I will do my best to follow everything to your plan and not disappoint you.”

Laura smiled and then patted Kateʼs head.

”Itʼs alright!”

”Even if you make mistakes, itʼs alright! Even the Goddess of Wisdom makes mistakes.”

”If you find yourself in a situation in which youʼre lost and donʼt know what to do, then approach Spencer and seek his help.”

”I am 100% sure Aditya also instructed him to help you in any way possible.” Kate nodded her head.

”Beyond all of this, I really wish I could accompany you on this journey.” As she said that, tears formed in her eyes. She really loved Laura.

Laura was her only family in this whole world.

”Itʼs alright! I will be back before you know it.” Laura pulled Kate into a tight hug.

The height difference between them meant that Kateʼs face was buried in Lauraʼs chest. But she did not mind. She also viewed Kate as her younger sister.

She allowed Kate to shed tears while she patted her head.

”And also, please donʼt fall for that bastard.” Hearing this, Laura froze before laughing out loud.

”Hahaha!!!”

”Donʼt call him that. If not for him, then both of us would have been dead by now. We owe Aditya so much that I donʼt think even 100 years would be enough to repay him.”

”I know! But I still hate the fact that youʼre going with him.”

”What if he succeeds in seducing you on this journey? And you return as his 7th or 8th wife.” Even Kate wasnʼt sure how many fianceè this guy had at this point.

”Hahahaha!!!” Hearing this, Laura couldnʼt stop laughing.

She did have some romantic feelings for Aditya back when he stayed by her side and protected her every hour. But she hasnʼt allowed that feeling to grow since then. She knew that loving him would be the biggest weakness of her heart.

She would be in a situation where she would hate to be in his harem as there are just too many women, and she wouldnʼt be able to stop loving him either.
