Dragon Monarch System

Chapter 915:- Inner Member and A Scout

But before he could say anything, a figure knocked on the window.

It was a mysterious man in a black cloak. A mask covered his face. This man hid his Aura so well that if he had not made his presence known by appearing outside the window, then no one in the entire room would have been able to tell if he even existed.

Even when he appeared, no one could tell what his cultivation level was.

Knock!! Knock!!!

Alex did not appreciate this rude interruption.

”What is it?” He asked in a rude and cold tone.

Seeing this, the man in the mask shivered for a second before hurriedly responding. ”Sir, we have spotted Crimson Flame in the distance.” Hearing this, Alex froze before completely shifting his attention towards the masked man.

”Crimson Flame?” Hearing this, even the Head Maidʼs expression slightly changed. Around a week back, their master gave them the order to look out for the Dragon Monarch or anything associated with the Dragon Monarch.

”So the Dragon Monarch is here?” The Masked Assassin nodded his head.

”When did this happen?” He asked in a hurried tone.

”Maybe 4 to 5 minutes back.”

”Where was it?” Clearly, this did not happen near Velmoor City or within the City; otherwise, by now, Alex would be standing in front of the Dragon Monarch. Not that he had any intention of fighting the Dragon Monarch. Even though his cultivation was way higher than the Dragon Monarchʼs, his role within the Organisation was only that of a Scout responsible for gathering and providing information in this region.

”We are not certain. But it did come from the direction of the East.”

”I have already sent a team to the scene. If we are lucky, then we will find them.” The intention was to observe the target from a safe distance and share their exact location.

But Alex did not have much hope. He had a feeling that the Dragon Monarch wouldnʼt stay in one place for too long. By the time his team reached the scene, they might have already left.

”Alright!” Alex hurriedly took out a blood drop-shaped earring and put it on his left ear.

He was about to insert Mana inside the communication artefact when his gaze fell on Mathew, who was looking confused.

When the City Lord looked at him, Mathew began to shiver in fear.

”Rabecca, take this man to the deepest layer of our Mansion.” He coldly stared at Mathew.

”Make his life a living hell. Donʼt let this man rest even for a second.”

”But be sure to keep him alive till I come down.”

The head Maid Rabecca grabbed Mathew by his neck and then began dragging him. While leaving, Mathew screamed and pleaded to Alex. But those cold eyes held no emotions for Mathew.

In fact, seeing him scream and beg made him slightly happier. This is what he wanted.

Killing his targets would be too damn easy. If he really needed to kill the people who hurt his family, then there was no need to kidnap each target and bring him to his Mansion. He wanted everyone like Mathew to feel pain.

He was gonna torture them until their mind completely breaks and until his target loses their will to live.

Once everyone left his office, Alex started the communication artefact that he received from the Mysterious organisation. To get revenge on that one person, Alex had no choice but to join the same organisation that she was a part of. It was also she who killed his son, daughter, and wife. Even though she lived in a neighbouring city, because of the organisation, Alex could do nothing to her.

This is why he spent decades and managed to become a scout member of the Organisation. His plan was to become an Inner member. Once everything was in his favour, nothing could stop him from taking his revenge.

”Kaoru, just you wait. I will drag you to this Mansion and torture you using every method known to mankind.”

[Hello!] - It was the voice of a male.

Hearing the voice, Alexʼs attitude quickly changed.

[Good Evening, Sir!]

[I hope I am not disturbing you.] - Alex had no choice but to be polite. He had no choice but to be that ass kisser. Only through this method could he hope to get recruited as an outer member and then get promoted to an Inner member of the organisation.

[Alex, was it?] - The Man said as if he was unsure. This showed that in the manʼs eyes, Alex held no importance. But Alex wasnʼt discouraged. Before, he didnʼt even know who Alex was. This was a huge improvement.

[Yes, Sir!]

[What is it, Alex?]

Since you have used the artefact, this means you have something valuable for me and the organisation. Otherwise, you know the consequences, right?] - Towards the end, his voice turned cold and there was a hint of threat in it.

[Of course, Sir! I have been in this organisation for so long that I know every rule.]

[Alright! Speak! - The man was in no mood to listen to his sugar-coated words. Recently, the whole organisation was under a lot of stress. Their plan was approaching its final stages, and with the recent appearance of the Goddess of Wisdom, their hands were full. Especially, all the core members of the organisation had a ton of work.

[Sir, just a few minutes back. My men spotted Crimson Flame in the far east of our City.] - Crimson Flame was enough for him to know who it was. There was no need to say the name.

[Good! Since we are shorthanded, I will ask Kaoru to find him and spot him. It will take some time for reinforcement to arrive.]

Hearing Kaoruʼs name, Alexʼs expression hardened. He did not like the fact that the man he was trying to please was relying on his enemy to do the job. Both of them were Peak 6th-order cultivators, yet Kaoru was the one getting priority.

But itʼs not like he could complain. For now, he had to endure everything until the time was right, silently.

[The Dragon Monarch likely fought some people. I have sent my team to that area to investigate, and if we are lucky, my team might find them and keep track of their location.] - Alex knew that this was his chance to earn as much merit as possible so that by the end of it, he could push to become an outer member of the organisation.

Hearing this, the man remained silent for a few seconds.

[This method most likely wouldnʼt work.] - The man said after a moment of being silent.

[May I ask why, sir?]

[Since the Dragon Monarch appeared near your City, this means the Dragon Monarch, along with Laura, used some disguise to blend themselves among the crowd to use the gate of the Twilith City.]

[Even if your men find them, itʼs impossible for them to see through the Dragon Monarchʼs disguise. And even if they did, the moment Dragon Monarch finds anything suspicious, he will likely end them before they could report anything. So for now, just investigate the scene and inform me of what you learn.]

[Understood, Sir!] - Alex heavily nodded his head.

As if sensing Alexʼs emotions, the man smirked from the other side and added at the end.

[If this mission is successful, then I will make you an Inner member of our organisation. So work hard. Donʼt let me down.]

[Thank you, Sir!]

Scene Change____

Just a few minutes after talking to Alex, the core member of that organisation, was having a conversation with Kaoru, who was the manager of the exchange house. The one whom Aditya met just a few hours back.

[So, despite all the measures that I took to make sure that they do not go unnoticed, they still managed to leave Twilith City and get inside that manʼs territory. It seems my preparation wasnʼt good enough. Itʼs my fault. I take the blame.] But there was no fear in Kaoruʼs tone. If anything, it was amusement.

She was a retired member of the Organisation. And now that the organisation was shorthanded, or the fact that their plan had entered its final stages, left them with very few men to focus on this Goddess matter. As a result, he had no choice but to contact her.

[So whatʼs next? Clearly, you didnʼt contact me to inform me that I have failed to find the Dragon Monarch.] - Suddenly, Kaoru recalled the faces of the couple that came to her store just a few hours back.

ʼNah! I even saw his identification papers.ʼ She shook her head and discarded that possibility.

[Since you have asked this question, you also should have guessed what I want]

”...” - Kaoru

[I want to say NO]

[You donʼt have that option. There is no such thing as retiring in our organisation. Yet, I allowed you to settle down and live a normal life for nearly one hundred years now.]

[Trust me, if I had someone capable, then I would have sent that person instead. But as I said before, getting reinforcement will take a few days. And another squad is busy looking for the Goddess.]

[Right now, you are the only inner member who is strong enough and is close to the targetʼs location. You have no choice.]

[The organisation demands your service.]

Hearing this, Kaoru wasnʼt frustrated. She just sighed out loud.

Sigh.....!!

[Alright! But I will do it on my own terms.] She did not like her freedom being restricted when she was on a mission. This is one of the main reasons why she decided to retire, although it wasnʼt retirement. It was more like her role temporarily became that of a scout.

[Alright! But I expect success from this Mission.]
